Close to the train station. In the shopping center on the second floor, it is open until 23.00 (this is a rarity for the city). The menu of Belarusian cuisine, the range is wide.
The borscht is extraordinary, they ate it on both cheeks. The pancakes are excellent! The musical accompaniment is thematic.

I stopped by for lunch yesterday and was disappointed. I really liked it that year, I decided to repeat it. I don't visit Gomel very often, I want to note that there are not many restaurants here. So about Cornflowers - I got into an unfortunate moment. Some kind of religious gathering was having lunch. Most of the seats were occupied. The boy at the entrance says there are no seats. And I see what's there, I show him the table. He's-oh, right, just a minute now. I'm standing again. The boy ran away somewhere. Well ok. She went to the table herself, from which the dishes were removed and the table was not wiped
I made an order- the refrigerator (beetroot) is very thick, it is just filled with kefir. Kefir should be slightly diluted. On the second - pancakes with a baking dish. The chicken breast is very tough, I did not find the mushrooms that are indicated in the description of the dish, only champignons. Disappointment.
On the plus side, the service is fast, the waitress girls are polite and look great, national costumes are absolutely in the theme

A well-known restaurant in Gomel. We went to it as tourists. I can't say that it was very tasty. The salads are good, there is something to try, the hot is not very tasty. The prices are democratic enough, although it depends on what to compare it with. Perhaps this is one of those places where you can really taste Belarusian food. The impression is mediocre. Food too. Despite the rather large assortment, the dishes are tasteless.
We ordered draniki and zeppelins.
Draniki is a shame. Don't call something that isn't a draniki. At best, it can be called potato pancakes (they also looked more like pancakes in shape) with flour and mashed potatoes, it seemed to me. This was not even close to the classic pancakes! I am a Belarusian myself and, believe me, I know what I am talking about.
Zeppelins are semi-finished products, thawed, boiled and fried before serving. Probably long before the submission. None by and large.
The service also leaves much to be desired. With an average fullness of the hall, the waiters had to be "caught"
I do not recommend visiting.

For me, the service in Minsk is much better. Everyone here is kind of slow, not smiling, as if they go to work at gunpoint. You sit and stretch your hand, and they walk around chatting with each other. And I advertised Cornflowers to my friends like that, they said they wouldn't go anymore. But very tasty, the cook did not disappoint!!!

It's a beautiful place. We ordered hodgepodge, potato babka, knuckle, cutlets in Kiev.
According to the hodgepodge, the only point is that there are few olives, but it is very tasty and good.
There are no questions at all about potato dough, there is enough sour cream, the meat is not large, it is also in abundance.
The knuckle was gorgeous, but in one place it was a little dry on top, and then everything was juicy, soft, delicious. Yes, and a portion of potatoes is attached in a rustic way, a great position.
Well, I didn't like the Kiev cutlets so much. The cutlets themselves are 7 out of 10, but this pea, which is attached to the mashed potatoes, generally disappointed, it's better without it. There are no questions about mashed potatoes.
In general, I give a rating of 5 out of 5, because the staff is in good shape, everyone is smiling, welcoming, friendly. And the dishes themselves are delicious. I recommend.

After listening to good reviews about this place, we came here to have dinner. How to spoil the impression of an institution from the first word? The waiters Anastasia and Ekaterina do it perfectly :) We approached a group of 5 people and asked about the availability of seats. It was said that there were no seats at all and only two tables in the hall were provided for such a number of people - one of them was occupied by a company that had just arrived, the other was occupied by a banquet. Okay, we said we were ready to fit at a small table, it's not a problem for us. Further, it was said that even if such a table is vacated, no one will keep it for us and in general they do not book tables. You should have seen their displeased faces. Then a passing waiter (God bless him) said that the terrace was free. And what do you think? On the terrace, one of about 6-8 tables was occupied. Why couldn't Anastasia and Ekaterina report this? Unfortunately, it will remain a mystery to us. As a result, we were served by a wonderful waiter Arseny. Thank him very much for the fast and high-quality service. As for the food, everything is good, the price/quality ratio is at the level. Drinks are top. They took draniki, dumplings, and a Caesar salad. It's a shame that the cafe with such a cool kitchen has such unpleasant staff (with the exception of Arseny).
P.S. By the way, at the entrance, these two lovely ladies said with great disdain that the wait for hot dishes was more than an hour. We ate in half an hour ;)
Another bell that guests are simply not welcome there
And for the future, smoking in the form of an institution does not add positive points to it .

My favorite restaurant! We come to Belarus every year, we definitely visit Cornflowers. The atmosphere is pleasant. The dishes are served quickly. Everything is cooked very tasty and correctly. The most delicious pancakes! The portions are large. The service is polite. The music needs to be changed. Since this is a restaurant of national cuisine, the music should be appropriate.
