A sacred place for the local population. At the top of a man-made hill is a chedi (a type of Thai stupa) with Buddha relics brought from India. The Golden Mountain itself symbolizes Mount Meru (the dwelling place of the gods). Before Wat Arun was built, it was the tallest temple in Thailand. Incredibly, it was used as a crematorium. It is not necessary to take off your shoes when visiting, the entrance ticket for foreigners is 100 baht. When you approach, you can hit the gong, ring the bells. The view from the mountain is not exactly ah. It might not be worth going here specifically to see, but since we lived within a two-minute walk, it didn't take long.

A pleasant place. There are small temples around the mountain, food outlets, drinks and all that. There is a great view of the city from the top of the mountain. I recommend you to visit.
