It's a pity that they didn't think of making a pedestrian bridge to the island. The castle is located on an island at the mouth of the Disna and Western Dvina rivers, southeast of the city. The Disney Castle appeared in 1554 and in 1570-1580 was the most important fortress of Podvinsk. The fortress consisted of a Lower and an Upper castle. Both of them were built of wood and reinforced with earthen ramparts. It is known that in 1661 there were 9 towers in the Lower Castle. Alas, only the ramparts of the once powerful fort have survived to this day – the castle in Disney was destroyed back in the XVIII century.
