It's a great defensive structure, and we had a guide inside. A little-known place. Many Belarusians have not been there. You can drive up by car, but you should be very careful and do not walk where the sign says that entry is prohibited. The right wing was currently accessible for passage. On the walls you can see the inscriptions of soldiers from 1888.

The "Western Redoubt" was the completion of our study of the Brest fortress. Although the building is in an abandoned state, it immerses in the atmosphere of the war years. Both the primary brickwork of the 19th century and traces of future alterations are visible, which makes it possible to realize the horrors of that time. The atmosphere here is incredible, intertwining human destinies, courage and self-sacrifice. The engineering idea of this structure impresses with its thoughtfulness and monumentality, which makes it a truly magnificent monument. It is a pity that some people use it to train their artistic abilities, which spoils the historical atmosphere.

An insanely atmospheric place. The real miracle of the fortification of the 19th century. We were here with an individual guide Anna, we learned and saw a lot of interesting things. Using the example of the Western Fort, which is the twin of the Eastern Fort, she told us about the events of the first days of the Great Patriotic War, how miraculously our heroes resisted the enemy for a whole month after the Nazi attack.

The incredible spirit of that time permeates you as you gradually approach these places. The echo of that terrible war seems to be hidden somewhere behind those hills and nearby these fortifications

If you plan to visit Brest, then it is a must-visit place. Inside the fortress itself, you can't let go of the feeling that you are in that time. Of course, the guide is important here. Peter Pizko - I recommend it. The person is passionate and knows what he is talking about, not just facts from Wikipedia.

An interesting historical place, the whole Brest fortress cannot be bypassed in a day, but it is better to book an excursion so it will be more complete and informative

A place smelling of history, dangerous, all abandoned. But it 's interesting in general , and it doesn 't smell very good there , there 's a lot of garbage , but the road is almost to the redoubt

Thanks to the guide Anna for a great tour of the places where not so many people were. This place plunges into the era of war, the intertwining of human destinies, courage and self-sacrifice. The engineering idea of this structure simply amazes with its thoughtfulness and monumentality.

A beautifully preserved fortification built in 1869. It is necessary to take a private guide. The official ones don't take you there. A lively touch of history.

The Brest Fortress is a memory of the glorious and heroic actions of our ancestors. Russian Russian engineers and ending with simple Russian and Belarusian men.

The Brest fortress is obligatory to visit. The best thing is to take an individual guide. The history of this place is so rich that you can walk around it for a day and listen to the events of the past days.

I really liked it. If, like me, you prefer to walk through history in the form in which it stopped, then you will definitely have something to see. Personally, I don't really like restoration, with rare exceptions. This redoubt makes you immerse yourself in that time. There are even soldiers' boots still lying on the ruins)))

5 only for historical significance. There are no signs, the road is also so-so, there is no information sign about the history of the structure, and they do not follow it, in five years it will completely overgrow.

It is difficult to assess such an iconic place . Thanks to the leadership of the Republic of Belarus for the preservation of this memorial. We were with a friend and with our children in 2019 on May 9th. It takes your breath away, tears come to your eyes and at the same time pride that you stood up and were able to.
