The famous Minsk sculptor Vladimir Zhbanov created many compositions in the genre of urban sculpture in the city. These are the "Little General" at the entrance to the Minsk Suvorov Military School, the "Postman" at the October cinema, the "Crew" — Governor Korneev's carriage, the complex of works in Mikhailovsky Square. But probably his main job is still this "Architect". According to Zhbanov, it is the Architect who is the main one in the city, its creator and owner at the same time. He is the creator and he is the builder. And he is responsible for everything before eternity. The monument depicts the buildings of Minsk from different eras — the gates of the wooden castle (XII century), the Bernardine Church (XVII century) and the building of the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater. The monument was erected in honor of the 940th anniversary of the Belarusian capital.

The Architect is the creation of the Belarusian sculptor Vladimir Zhbanov.
