We first came to Vitebsk in July 2023 and were simply fascinated by this city! We lived in the very center, quiet, clean, calm, cafes are open until 23 hours. We booked an individual excursion with Anastasia to the sights of the city. The tour lasted 2.5 hours, but we didn't even notice how time flew by. Anastasia took us through the cozy streets of the city, told us about wartime, about Marc Chagall, went to the arena where the Slavyansky Bazaar takes place, answered all our questions, was a very interesting conversationalist and with humor. She advised us to visit art exhibitions, which we did. We were very pleased with our trip to this wonderful city!

A pretty urban sculpture on the shore at the confluence of the Vitba with the Dvina. A goldfish with the key to the city and a pot of gold, which was given to the city by the trade passing along the river earlier. The sculpture is located in a picturesque place of the old town next to the convent and the ascent of the Assumption Hill. The goldfish offers a magnificent view of the expanse of the Western Dvina. When planning a walking tour of old Vitebsk, I recommend visiting this place.

There was a review below - they say, they put it in vain. I don't know how it is from the point of view of the locals, I will say as a visiting tourist: an excellent composition. A beautiful fish, an interesting idea with a tub of coins and a key. And to be guided by the presence of vandals on the issue of setting up or not setting up monuments is, in my opinion, such a thing. If we approach the issue this way, we would not have developed technology either. Why - someone will break it anyway....
