The Royal Palace is another recognizable landmark in Madrid. It was modeled after the French Versailles, and it is the largest royal residence in Europe. However, now the monarch and his family do not live here, but they use the palace for especially important meetings and events. When Philip VI is in the palace during the ceremonies, a flag is raised over the building. But there was no flag, so we went in. A building of almost 3,500 rooms and halls appeared before us. On the ground floor there is the Royal Armory with one of the world's best collections of medieval weapons and armor. The palace's art gallery features a collection of paintings, including works by Goya, Caravaggio and Salvador Dali. The main masterpiece of the museum is one of three paintings with the same name by Hieronymus Bosch "Christ bearing the Cross". The royal library also houses ancient manuscripts, including notes belonging to the hand of Leonardo da Vinci. In addition, the palace houses a rich collection of musical instruments, Stradivarius violins are of particular value. The ticking of 200 different mechanisms can be heard in the palace, as many kings of Spain were keen watch collectors. You can spend half a day looking at the details of the decoration, which are drawn to independent works of art. Please note that photo and video shooting is prohibited inside the palace, and you can only take a picture on the main staircase.

A magnificent palace! Although how could a king, especially an acting one, be otherwise? Despite the fact that photography is not welcome in the palace, a walk through the Royal Palace turned out to be quite interesting... By the way, the ticket price is 14 euros, the audio guide is 5 euros.
