An amazing idea and an amazing realization of the idea! The museum building itself and the exposition are magnificent! Being completely indifferent to carpets before the visit, I saw that there are amazing specimens woven by real masters of their craft!!! I recommend it!

a good museum, even without a guide, everything is clear, written in many languages except Russian. The museum of gold jewelry is open on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The activity is aimed entirely at commerce. Information and exhibits are presented callously, for the sake of unsubscribing. By the way, all information is only in Azerbaijani and English. In Russian, there is only a howling sign. It does not cost 100 manats, maximum 30

It's not interesting. There is no Russian. The whole museum is only Russian, for some reason they wrote to the information in English.

I have never been to such museums as this one, and I am not good at carpets, but this is the culture and pride of the Azerbaijani people, we examined, got acquainted, well, it's not easy to weave carpets

The museum was not impressed. There are not many exhibits for such an area and they are not hung in the most convenient way for viewing. Mostly 19th-20th century. In general, for fans. PS. an audio guide or annotations for Russian tourists would not be superfluous.

In Baku, it is located in a walking area, near the embankment. Carpets for Baku are not only art, they are a national treasure. The building is made in an original way. A large exhibition space with rare exhibits.

Super-museum of Baku. Absolutely everyone likes it. According to his collection, you can get an impression of the carpet weaving of the entire Turkic world (including nomadic) and Persia. A huge collection, stock up on time. Interactive. Most of all I liked the story about the coloring of threads for carpets. The master at the machine weaves the Shamakhi carpet - live

I recommend you to visit. The guides are very nice and speak Russian well. They will tell you about the story in all the details. If you eat during the season, you can cooperate on the spot and gather a group for an excursion. The entrance is 10 man/s person. + 12 man guide/group As of September 23, the audio guide was not working.

The museum is cool, although there was not enough installation of carpet making from and to. But never drink coffee in the coffee shop! Not only are there no prices and apparently they are called solely based on your appearance, but also not at all tasty.

As a child, we looked at patterns on carpets, not understanding the symbolism of floral and geometric ornaments, and even now few people know it, except specialists. And they did not imagine that a whole museum could be dedicated to the carpet – such as in Baku. Founded almost 55 years ago (in 1967), the museum aims to popularize carpet weaving as a national form of decorative and applied art. The museum moved to a new building in the form of a huge carpet rolled into a roll not so long ago – in 2014. And, apparently, it is not very designed for Russian tourists: all the information is given in Azerbaijani and English. However, audio guides are available in several languages. It is worth visiting the museum on occasion: to see how carpets are woven, and to join the history of their creation (there are samples of the XVII-XVIII centuries), and to decide for yourself how close carpet aesthetics are to you. After all, in the second half of the twentieth century, almost every Soviet family had a carpet: it was considered both prestigious (a sign of prosperity), and practical (warmth), and beautiful, although the aesthetics of woven rugs with deer or swans is the subject of a separate discussion: everyone has their own aesthetic taste and sense of beauty And then against the background of wall-mounted home carpets numerous viewers filmed questions for experts of the elite club "What? Where? When?". And museum visitors have the opportunity to choose against the background of which museum exhibit they would prefer to do it themselves ☺️
