A standard place recommended for tourists. The history of the sultans, the harem, the art gallery. If you look at everything quite cursorily, then 2-3 hours should be laid. It is better to come to the opening in the morning, queues and group tours begin later. Beautiful view of the Bosphorus.

I'll write about what I didn't like, because there are already plenty of positive reviews.
Let's start in order.
0. The price of a full entrance ticket (palace+harem+ art gallery) for April'23 is 450 liras. This is almost 25 buckets or under 2,000 wooden ones. For this money you get:
1. Walking in formation along narrow "corridors" of fences, such as at the airport at the check-in desk. You can't enter most of the rooms, admire through an open passage, along with a crowd of others who want to. If they take care of the unique floor covering, I think they could find some way out, because progress gives us many solutions to such problems. Are they saving on cleaning? It seems that it is necessary to pull on shoe covers at the entrance. In general, it's strange. I have not seen this in any museum, either in Turkey or in the Russian Federation.
2. BUT PHOTOS, BUT VIDEOS. There are no temporary exhibitions at all in the museum, but you can't shoot anyway. I still didn't understand what the problem was.
3. There is absolutely nothing to do there without an audio guide, because there is a minimum of explanations inside. Fortunately, the player rental is included in the ticket price. But to get it, you need to make a deposit - a document such as a passport or a / c, or $100 / € 100, they give you a coupon, they will return it at the exit. The guide works on the labels of portable plates (a black circle with a number), and it does not always work correctly, sometimes you need to bring the player to this "black label" to switch, or dial the track number manually. I recommend having headphones with you, a standard 3.5mm mini-jack connector, so the player can be hidden in a pocket, otherwise you will have to walk with it attached to your ear, like a mobile phone.
4. I'm not a fan of painting and usually I skip through canvases quickly, but I liked the painting museum here the most (of the three museums in the complex). There is a whole Aivazovsky hall, plus a lot of Turkish authors. There are portraits of sultans by unknown artists (they were hired because images of people were forbidden in Islamic culture, but if a non-Muslim draws, then you can). The general audio guide inside the museum of paintings does not work, apparently, a separate one is needed.

February 24 years old. The price is 1100 liras or 36!! dollars. And for locals- $ 5. Nowhere in the most expensive countries in Europe have I paid so much for the best museums. Inside, there is less wealth than in the Hermitage, but there is more domestic thoughtfulness. The gallery is valuable only to Aivazovsky. The harem is interesting, but as with the palace, a lot of things are fenced off very far away, for example, you look at the wives' rooms only from the threshold of the hallway. You can't take pictures anywhere (why?) and crowds of ministers are chasing everyone away.
In total, a rich and interesting story, everything is saved. But the country's pricing policy does everything not to come here, but to go to cheaper France, Germany and Spain.

The palace is striking in its grandeur, you feel like a little man, and it was as if Giants lived there. Proportions of windows, doors, mirrors, ceilings.... Indeed, the Ottoman Empire was great, I really liked it. There is a free audio guide in Russian. The queue was held for 40 minutes in the heat , but it is so cool on the castle grounds, the sea breeze is blowing.
