We read rave reviews and went from Pitsunda to try wonderful khinkali.
I must say right away that khinkali is delicious! Both fried and classic.
Now about the cons:
1. The cost has gone up! 500r / 5 pcs fried and 450r / 5 pcs regular, cheburek 200r. It is more expensive than the average in Moscow!
2. A boat with an egg for 350 rubles for a three. Overcooked and little cheese. The daughters couldn't even finish eating! This is generally the first time (They really love this dish.
3. Self-service with such prices... Well, is that so?!🤷♂️
4. Service without "Hello" or even an attempt to smile or look up. This is the norm for Abkhazian canteens, but again the prices are not at all canteens!
When asked to bring plates for hinkals, for some reason they gave only two for the children, and my wife and I had to eat above the table.
If it had cost one and a half times cheaper, there would have been no questions. Although khachapuri is conditionally edible in any case.
Judging by the reviews, three days ago the price was much cheaper, and the year before last it doubled!

Definitely, the best cafe in Gagra or even in the whole of Abkhazia is a must-visit. Excellent khinkali, both regular and fried. Khachapur is at the highest level. We also tried kharcho (delicious, but incredibly spicy, not for everyone)

It's a nice place, but it's kind of empty. I ordered khinkali to take away. They were done quickly, but unfortunately they were not warned that they were sharp. It was delicious, but my husband couldn't eat it...But I really liked the dogwood compote.

I read the early reviews about salmonella, poisoning - I should have paid attention from the very beginning.

We were with the family, we thought we'd sit down. But while they were waiting for the order, a group of 4 men lit a cigarette at the next table. Then, one by one, they started smoking. To say that it was a shock is a gross understatement. It's in a public place, there were also children there, well, it just sucks. At the same time, the staff does not make comments to smokers. As I understand it, this is the norm for Abkhazia. I definitely won't go again, it's not worth it, the taste of the dishes is interrupted by the smell of tobacco. There's nowhere else to wash your hands. There is one bottle of antiseptic, it still needs to be noticed.

I ordered khinkali, salad and tea, and asked to serve tea a little later, not immediately. They brought a salad (nothing to taste, but for that kind of money you can do better), then they brought fried khinkali (in principle not bad, but there is also tastier for the same price). Then he continued to wait for tea. An hour after the order, he asked for a refund for the tea, which was never delivered. Instead of apologies, I received a dose of criticism that I had to remind myself that I also ordered tea. I understand that there can be a lot of orders. But it was possible to apologize for this, and not blame the customers for their mistake.

Delicious khinkali, huge cheburek, the most delicate desserts
We went to Abkhazia again. We went to Moncafe especially in Gagra. Because now I'm eating these goodies in a beautiful dream. Hinkal is better than here, I haven't eaten anywhere in a year. Moncafe are masters of Abkhazian cuisine! I wanted to eat sweets so much, but we could barely breathe after such a magical lunch!

Yesterday we ate khinkali were not bad , good dough , meat and coriander is not too much , today , deciding that they are decently fed here , we ordered dumplings with potatoes, cheburek and khinkali as well, but we were mistaken , for some reason the dumplings were sweet dough , and the filling itself tasteless , cheburek is very salty (I'm afraid to think why) , in khinkali, 70% was cilantro and then the stems, we will not come anymore.

My wife and I decided to stop by this cafe after a long journey. We ordered meat in a frying pan, chicken broth with noodles, khinkali and a boat with cheese and egg.
So even when we were hungry, we only ate khinkali. Meat in a frying pan is made from old meat, or thawed, that's just not tasty at all. The chicken in the broth is the same. We went for meat!!!
Only breakfast was surprisingly normal, we took eclairs (our own production, really very fresh and a lot of cream), coffee, chicken soup, dumplings with potatoes, we thought that because of the location there might be something tasteless, but we'll go back in the evening for hinkals!
We came to dinner, but the reviews on khinkali did not justify themselves, the minced meat is really stringy and there are a lot of greens, the meat in the pan also does not taste very good, it is better to drink coffee with eclair in the morning.
As it turned out, after dinner we started to feel sick and we did not get up from the toilet and basin in the morning, apparently the strange taste of meat was a sign of its stale!Don't eat meat here!

After taking a look at the inside of the establishment and generally remaining satisfied, I made a major tactical mistake. I ordered a DOUBLE portion for my wife and me. As a result, the portion that was brought to us barely fit on the table. I have a very warm opinion about the Abkhazian desire to feed the guest. But we could barely eat half of such a portion.
