One of the visiting cards of Antalya, however it doesn't look authentic.... Great view from the rooftops.

A good place to walk after lunch. It's beautiful, there are no intrusive merchants. Good locations for a photo shoot. I liked that you can walk "all the way": in one place I went in, in another I went out, examined the entire tower and did not need to go back.
Those with children pay attention - there are low openings on the wall around the tower, it is not very safe to walk. Next to the tower, the narrow coastline is a romantic, quiet place at sunset. All passes are free (except the museum).

A wonderful place, a must-visit for lovers of the historical in different cities.
Three floors, on the ground floor there was an exhibition of paintings about Alanya, interesting.
On the second one, you can mysteriously wander between the columns and arches.
The third one makes the heart beat faster from the views!
We bought a single ticket to the tower and the Shipyard, it's more profitable this way, and the shipyard is also mandatory to visit.

A great beach with a wonderful sunset and the most transparent water in Alanya. You can watch the fish in the mask. A short walk along the fortress wall above the beach will lead to a super cafe for breakfast. Very cheap and very tasty. Foreigners have not yet discovered this place. The contingent is exclusively local residents and visiting aborigines.

Entrance is paid, there are many interesting locations nearby, cafes, beach, port. Architecture, antiquity, beauty, sea, must-visit.

An interesting tower, and most importantly - wonderful views from the observation deck above.
You can buy a single ticket for the tower and the shipyard, in October 2024 it cost 150 lira.
There are paintings on the 1st floor, from the second you can go out into the courtyard.

How can you not like this art object, which has been standing for more than a century? That the tower itself, that the shipyard is all interesting. So, as in 2021, I was there with a tour for only 30 minutes, this year, I walked around it. Types of crazy beauty . We bought a ticket for all 200 lire . Do not buy separately. And you should not take a 5in1 tour, it is better to go yourself if possible.

We came to the port of Alanya on a ship with a program of caves, and free time for a walk. I highly recommend visiting such a Great attraction. The entrance is 30 liras. The steps are steep and high - get ready!) having climbed to the top, such wonderful views are waiting for you that you just have to soak up! It's an incredible feeling! Stones keep history! I do not recommend swimming in the sea - after all, the port and the water are so-so. Everyone is polite and friendly. We liked it!

We walked past cafes and street kiosks to Kyzyl Kule (Red Tower). It's just a paradise for those who like to walk a lot on old steep stairs and take a lot of photos. And most importantly, it can be done for free. There is a small museum inside, it is paid. From the museum, there is access to observation decks along ancient stone stairs with high steep steps – the views are breathtaking. I was there and photographed for ten publications.
If you sum up about the Red Tower, it is very beautiful, very high, you will be there - you must visit it.

A place worth visiting, to touch the antiquity, to look at Alanya from a height, to wander along the cobbled streets in the shade of flowering trees next to the tower. Steep steps lead to the observation deck. This should be taken into account by people who have a hard time climbing the stairs. Especially beautiful views from the tower at sunset.

Resort Alanya in Turkey is famous not only for its beaches and well-developed tourist infrastructure. The city can rightfully be proud of its architectural and historical sights. The Red Tower (Kyzyl Kule, tour.Kızıl Kule) is rightly considered a symbol of Alanya. It is part of the complex of the Alanian fortress, but its appearance, size and fame compares favorably with other towers that make up the defensive system of the ancient city (according to various sources, there are 60-80 and even, perhaps, more). The Red Tower is an impressive and at the same time beautiful structure. It is a beautifully preserved masterpiece of medieval architecture. The Red Tower was built in 1224-1226 by order of the Seljuk Sultan Alayetdin Keykubat (Europeanized transcription of the name), who in 1221 captured the fortress of Colonoros, where the descendants of the governors of the Byzantine emperors ruled, renamed the city in his honor (Alaye) and began to improve the settlement, since the sultan chose it as the capital of the Seljuk kingdom for the winter This is the place. During that period, famous buildings were erected here, including the magnificent RED TOWER. It was designed and supervised by a specially invited talented Arab architect el Kettani (originally from the territory of modern Syria). Implementing the "order" of Keikubat I, the master applied not only engineering knowledge (it turned out to be a strong fortification, cleverly built from a strategic point of view and did not lose its power over the centuries), but also put his soul into the project: after all, the tower is very beautiful and even elegant. In shape, it is an octagonal prism, crowned with a crown of curly teeth, 29 m wide and 30 m high (walls on the slope of the peninsula, at the foot of which the tower rises) to 34 m (walls from the sea). The color of the walls is due to the material of the building - this is tuff stone - a local rock - and red brick (including those added during the reconstruction of the tower in 1950) Hence the name of the tower, because even in the Middle Ages it was called not the Alaye Tower (the original name in honor of the great sultan-conqueror and beautifier), but very The name RED TOWER was quickly assigned to the new creation because of the shade of its walls, which are very thick and almost solid. The tuff masonry, fastened with a secret, durable solution, is broken from the outside only by narrow oblong holes in the loophole windows and inclusions of marble - during the construction Elkettani fragmentally used fragments of antique columns and bas-reliefs. To protect against potential attackers (throwing weights from above, pouring boiling water and hot oil with molten resin), horizontal cracks in the walls of the tower, hidden by stone shells, were also equipped. The door to the huge tower (with a capacity of up to 2000 people) is so small that a modern adult of average height must bend his head to avoid hitting. It is clear that in the 13th century. this was done intentionally so that the only entrance could be easily walled up in case of danger. There is also a secret exit from the third floor of the tower: it leads to the fortress wall and was intended for the supply of provisions and weapons to the defenders, as well as for the evacuation of people. Inside the fortress there are voluminous, floor-mounted cisterns with drinking water.
The tower is five storeys high. Now a branch of the Alanya Archaeological Museum is located on the ground floor. Whenever I climb the narrow stairs with steep, high, stone steps, moving from floor to floor of this stunning ancient building, when I get into its gloomy corridors and spacious interiors and when I go out onto the upper open terrace, flooded with bright sunshine 10 months a year, it takes my breath away, and the story It seems to come to life within these walls.
Of course, I highly recommend visiting Kyzyl Kule to all guests of the Alanya resorts. It is open (information at the time of writing) from 8:30 to 19:00 daily. Admission in 2021 costs 12 Turkish lira (payment is accepted only in local currency). Complex ticket (Red tower + shipyard+ Damlatash cave) tour 23.lira. It will also be interesting to make excursions around Alanya, which include a visit to the Red Tower and which are conducted by historical guides.
If there are places of power on Earth, then, of course, the Red Tower is one of them.
