They were much slower than in the neighboring Teahouse. They are not quick-witted or efficient. And I absolutely did not like the tartar made of avocado, tomatoes and scallops. Okay, it was very little for a huge plate, so also the price is like Chateaubriand's. 1300 is almost and quite, well, quite tasteless. I was very disappointed and hungry. We decided not to visit a teahouse, but an Italian restaurant. A good interior for Abkhazia, clean, there are not many people, as prices are high compared to local cafes. We ordered lemonade, classic, moderately sour and sweet, everything is balanced. Filet mignon with a vegetable side dish, the meat is soft, it sulks well, salt and pepper are enough, the vegetables are delicious, diced with Demi glasse sauce. The meat is good. Caesar with chicken, with a good sauce (not mayonnaise with garlic) the chicken is juicy and tender, the only question is about balsamic cream as an ornament. The noodles are straight homemade, the broth is rich, rich in taste, the noodles look homemade, the children do not eat dill, but he was there, I put the noodles perfectly, I had to feed the children). Asparagus, well, the asparagus in the photo will do, but it is clearly frozen, overcooked and too small. The potato gratin was quite a success, the potatoes are not crispy, completely ready, sliced thinly, a lot of cheese, salt and spices are enough. The camembert with croutons is very tasty, the cheese is tender, the noble mold on the crust is moderately felt, the texture is excellent inside, the cheese is gorgeous. In general, the place is worth a visit, not a delight, but good. A dark-skinned kid in a chef's jacket walks in the hall. I think he's more for entertainment than the boss.

A wonderful restaurant. Probably the best in Gagra. Chef Andre cooks at the highest level. The dishes are very tasty, the serving is beautiful and fast. Also, the chef himself is often in the hall and controls the serving of dishes. We had dinner at this restaurant 2 times. Dinner is organized in a buffet style. Each dish is balanced with the rest. Starting from salads and ending with desserts. Everything is very tasty and constantly replenished. In the evening, there is always live music, and at a pleasant volume, and not like in cheap cafes - at full power of all speakers. Thanks to the restaurant for such a pleasant experience.
Guests of the hotel of the same name, which is located there in a single complex, also eat in the restaurant. In the morning and evening during the season, there may be a lot of people in the restaurant because of this. It is necessary to take this into account if you want to sit there.

Abaat's restaurant is delicious and without rotovirus! The chef of the restaurant is Andre Martin (he cooked for Nicolas Sarkozy, Mireille Mathieu, Philip Kirkorov).
We ate only in this restaurant for 2 weeks of living in Staraya Gagra in September 2024, sometimes we went to other equally pretentious places. However, Abaat's restaurant is the best in Abkhazia!
I decided to try mushrooms here for the first time. There is an unsurpassed duck buffet, chicken pate, desserts, sturgeon and humpback kebab and much more. In 2 weeks, we tried almost all the menus together with my wife.
In the evening after 19:00-20:00 there is live music in the restaurant: female vocals. The audience is very pleasant, there are almost no flies, the air conditioner is working.
I celebrated my 36th birthday at the Abaat restaurant in Gagra and all the food was very tasty!
Payment is only in cash or by transfer.
Non-guests of the Abaat hotel can come for a buffet breakfast for 600 rubles per person and for 1200 for dinner.

This is the third year we have been visiting this restaurant with the whole family. Everything was fine. This time, my husband and I ordered from the main course: a salad of crispy eggplant with tomatoes, mussels in white wine, lamb gigot. I'll start with a salad, a very coarsely chopped tomato, rubber eggplants that cannot be pricked with a fork, a huge amount of starch that remains on the teeth like sand, leaving bitterness in the mouth and a bunch of small seeds ... the salad was "strewn" with cashews. I didn 't eat the salad, I left it aside. The mussels were brought, and the salad seemed "tastier". A fairly large portion, in plenty of water and celery. 4-5 rubbery , sugary mussels were eaten at most, and the taste of celery (as if they were boiled in celery juice) interrupted all the notes of seafood.. A meat dish was brought to my husband, in mashed peas. The serving is not impressive, a piece of meat went to the "napkin"... the whole evening the cook went and took pictures with the visitors, instead of serving delicious dishes to the guests! We left upset , we will not return to this institution anymore. Moreover, our friends have repeatedly warned us that the cook has changed and the level of food and serving has noticeably dropped.

She said they forgot to turn on the heating (well, or saving electricity?). She turned it on in front of me. The matter was settled with this. Next - the dishes are beautiful and expensive, modern. The Portland firm. I liked it. Everything was standard for breakfast - salads, green peas, corn, even lightly salted cucumbers, vinaigrette, fresh vegetables, sliced cheese and sausage products, sour cream, butter plums. and olive oil, cottage cheese, etc., bread, cookies, breakfast cereals, juice, milk, tea, sugar - everything was there.
Next on food - you can come to lunch from 11 (just for those who missed breakfast). We visited this popular restaurant during a vacation trip. After seeing many beautiful places, we decided to have dinner in Abaat so that the day would end perfectly. At first glance, everything was wonderful, but as soon as the ordered dishes began to arrive, the mood began to drop.
French onion soup is an over-salted thick broth with fried onions and a HUGE piece of floating softened bread in the middle of the plate... an amateur, I thought. The young man ordered rice with additives of vegetables and spices...a mountain of unleavened rice with a hint of curry was brought, the dish was returned, the waiters did not even specify why we were returning the dish.
Salads, mushroom risotto and various wines were also included in the order.
We had dinner in the evening, and from 2 a.m., non-stop vomiting and all the accompanying symptoms of poisoning and intoxication began (we did not swim in the sea, rotavirus was excluded from the water).
The result of the dinner is the hospital of the city of Gagra, in which I would not wish to be even an enemy, an IV for 3,000 rubles and a completely spoiled last day of rest with fever and nausea in the room. The cherry on the cake was that it was on the last day of my stay that I was supposed to make a marriage proposal on the beach, under a bottle of wine, in the sunset. I eventually received the offer after returning to my hometown a few days later, but the impression of the restaurant, Gagra and Abkhazia was completely and irrevocably spoiled.
I sincerely do not advise and warn against this institution, the horse price tag is absolutely not justified.
We still wonder how it was possible to get poisoned in such an expensive, hyped restaurant, when all these days we ate corn from the beach, mussels on skewers at the market and all kinds of local fast food ...
The only and perhaps the last plus is singer Evgenia with a wonderful voice and a chic musical repertoire in the style of jazz and soul, listened with great pleasure.

Pampered by Russian hospitality, we arrived in sunny Abkhazia, checking into one of the best hotels in Gagra, we decided to visit not the last restaurant in the city - Abaata, which positions itself as one of the best. We had a good lunch here, except for the dish, they didn't bring it, but it was delicious, so we were satisfied.
But the dinners shocked us.
They met us, roughly speaking, in no way, we ourselves went to an empty table, which was dirty, dishes, etc
. We sat, waited for the staff to deign to come up, waited, the boss came up, to find out why we were so sad, we pointed out our dissatisfaction. After 10 minutes, finally, the menu was brought to us and cleared from the table, but there was clearly something wrong with the waitress's face, as if she had been forced to do it, by the way, the waitress Alina, my story about her today.
Alina condescended to us, accepted the order, and ordered two cocktails to begin with, cosmopolitan and Daiquiri with strawberries, the main component of which is rum.
After n-amount of time, we received the long-awaited drinks, but what was our disappointment when, after drinking this nectar, we felt notes of cheap alcohol. We immediately asked to replace the drinks, because there was no desire to drink such swill.
New drinks were brought to us, but after a few minutes our conversation was interrupted by Alina, a friend of everyone, with a bump, saying that refusing a dish with the wording "we did not like it" would not work, because they tried the drinks and were convinced of their originality and she would not be able to exclude them from the receipt. Well, we will pay, we said, after which the nasal waitress pointedly left.
I'll finish the story with alcohol, after a while Alina decided to ask how we like the new cocktails, but also in her cheeky manner.
There's nothing to say about the dishes, my turkey was passable. But my companion did not share my opinion. Her pasta with a sea cocktail, and we'll call it something else, left her to do the best. The scallops could not be picked out of the shell, and the shrimps, not sliced, were whole, the size of my little finger nail.
In general, we were not inspired by such a well-known restaurant of European cuisine. The prices are too high, and when you come to such establishments, you want to get at least a service that is at the level of a shawarma in the basement, where they will bite your throat for every penny. Probably the only thing that confused me was that the buffet from the hotel is located in the same restaurant, and when tourists come from the hotel for dinner, the feeling of being in the restaurant spoils. The atmosphere of the canteen appears, but perhaps this does not bother someone, either come at another time, or you can choose tables outside. After 19 there was live music, the girl sang beautifully.
There is no birthday compliment, this is not a minus, but just a fact.

The food and service are excellent, but the prices are wild, do not correspond to the Abkhazian ones, as in Moscow restaurants and it seems more expensive than in Russian resorts, even if you order a modest one-course juice, a glass of inexpensive wine, the price easily goes for 5-6 thousand rubles for two, for the period of September 2024. Most likely, we will no longer go to Abkhazia, at least in the coming years, we will keep an eye on hot trips abroad.

It's just a delight! I'll tell you now in order.
We came from Pitsunda, it was our wedding anniversary. It so happened that the hotel guests were still eating dinner, approached the hostess, found out where they could sit down, said choose a place where you like and sit down. We chose a place, the menu was brought to us, the waitress came up almost immediately, we asked to wait a little because we hadn't chosen yet. After a few minutes, the order was made, the waitress duplicated the order, clarified in what order to serve the dishes (for Abkhazia, this is nonsense) . Now for the kitchen:

Shrimp salad, baked camembert, bruschetta with salmon (salmon is as tender as if I salted it myself),
rooster in wine, and of course an incomparable dessert - pear! Chef Andre went out to the guests several times, talked, it was very pleasant.
According to the bar, the bartender knows his job perfectly, the pina colada was just right, balanced in sweetness.
The waitress was helpful and took great care of us.
It was the first time I tasted so good in Abkhazia.

I really liked the place, in the very heart, but still a four:

Dogwood compote is delicious! By the way, there were many items missing from the menu. Prices are high, in Moscow it is cheaper to eat in a good restaurant. The interior is interesting, like a medieval one - these are the halls indoors, we were outside - it would be possible to change the upholstery. The latch didn't work in the toilet. Klaass!!!!!!!! We just recommend it to all tourists! Immediately at the entrance to Gagra ( if from Sochi ) on the right side . Price - quality is above all praise. Very tasty. The waitress girls serve quickly and politely. The Wi-Fi is great. From morning to 11.30 am , the buffet is 500 rubles per person , well, just an unrealistic assortment and amount of food and desserts ! Well done , Good luck to you !

The atmosphere in this place is very warm and pleasant. The restaurant has excellent staff: friendly, responsive, and importantly, competent staff. There are author's dishes to choose from, which are very justified! Definitely worth paying attention to this place☝🏻
