This is the best hotel in Varadero! The rooms are not new, you will not find new ones in Cuba! The food is great, a huge selection, for breakfast there are different types of eggs, yogurt, cereals (no cottage cheese and tomato), lunch - rice, potatoes of a million kinds, pork, lamb, chicken, fish, for dinner there is everything too! Ice cream for dessert, it's very tasty! The ocean is unreal, you can swim around the clock. Games, unforgettable evening shows, it's a delight! Electronic cigarettes to Cuba can only be carried out in a thermo mug, otherwise they will be taken away at the airport and returned on departure home. We spent about 2 weeks in this place, in general everything was fine, we lived in a bungalow near the ocean, the food was decent (we chose mainly hotels based on food), the bungalow itself was a bit old, but we knew about it before arrival, some bungalows are being renovated. The Wi-Fi in the room worked acceptably, but not smartly. In the morning, you can take a ticket to visit the restaurant of your choice. Beautiful ocean and sand. Among the disadvantages - a long check-in and getting something at the reception, Wi-Fi on a coupon, it is better to take sun beds from early morning (6-7 am), groups of young people from Canada who drink for days, room cleaning is not super, flies in the food area.

But here's what negated all the positive things: the tactics of petty deception by the hotel administration. You seem to be in a decent place, but the methods and tricks are like at a flea market, where you need to keep an eye on your pockets. We do not accept our own cash Cuban pesos for payment for additional services (and we would like to spend them somewhere, because they are not needed anywhere): you are billed in them (in particular for laundry services), and at the bottom of the bill, the balance of services with the final figure is added to them. But when you come to pay, it turns out that you can only pay with a card (which is not indicated anywhere - you are simply confronted with the fact), where the government's peso exchange rate is artificially inflated - and you get exactly 3 times more for payment. The total amount was not critical, and so that, God forbid, my agent would not be asked any questions later, I decided to pay. I consider this a deception on the part of the hotel administration, which eventually left a pretty nasty aftertaste about him.🤷

We rested in a bungalow far from the whole party. Quiet and beach and relaxation. We are thrilled. The administrator is Anna Russian-speaking. Cocktails are served 24/7 in the lobby. Don't come here anymore!!! Queues are waiting for a piece of fried chicken🤦♂️ the food is disgusting and mostly in Ala-kart! the rooms are not fresh: the air conditioner works like a diesel generator, it is impossible to sleep! After the rum, the ambre is such that the cockroaches run away. We got a good room. We booked a superior. They seem to be after a recent renovation. But upon check-in, we were offered a junior suire room for an additional fee of $ 10 per day. 2 rooms. And they took him. The room has 2 rooms, refrigerator, iron, ironing board, safe, large terrace / balcony. Each room has a TV with Russian channels. There is a shower cabin and a bidet in the bathroom. Toilet and sink, of course. The noise is also normal. Today, in the next room, the dude got stuck in the bathroom. For a long time they could not understand where the knock was coming from. I brought it to a restaurant where it's very cool even by Moscow standards! Two bowls of mixed meat, fish and rice were served! He put Juan and the driver to eat with us! We ate for 12 thousand rubles! Plus only cash! Then my guide took a kickback at the restaurant for bringing Pegasus guests. Well, okay, I came to rest and no Pegasus would spoil my mood. Be careful with the excursions! The task of the guide is to sell them, no matter what! We were also advised to go by catamaran! To the dolphins and to the island! Great beach, gorgeous ocean. A normal Wi-Fi connection. The superior rooms are normal, but there is a putrid smell from the humidity and the toilet flushes horribly. They always replenish the minibar and bring 1.5 liters of water to the room. The towels are washed to such an extent that they are already gray. The food is tolerable: cucumbers and fruits are in short supply, porridge has appeared only a few times in 2 weeks, there is always a queue for meat and fish to cook from under the knife, there are never ready portions and they put microscopic pieces as if tearing them from the heart. Shrimps and mussels have been seen 1 time.

Among the disadvantages - in May there was a very poor assortment of food in the main restaurant, there were no seafood, vegetables and salad greens. The food was often too salty. The saddest thing about the whole trip is just the wild number of flies in the restaurant, which no one is trying to fight, and snakes on the territory. I understand everything, but why scare your vacationing guests into fainting?? Catch all the reptiles and take them away to nature. When snakes sleep on the window in your bungalow and sunbathe in tangles on the territory, it's not really normal, you know? Even though they are non-poisonous. You need to do something about flies too.. At least hang traps or repellents. I had to cover my food with napkins all the time. I don't know what happened to you, dear Melia network, but there was always a total shortage of everything. The bar near the beach often ran out of ingredients for non-alcoholic cocktails. There was no Lime in this race. Mojitos were made exclusively with mint, without lime. Napkins and toothpicks are missing in the main restaurant, cutlery had to be begged, although they should be on the tables by default. Dishes are often dirty and unwashed. At the end of the check-in, the hotel stopped coping with loading - there were no free sunbeds on the beach at 9 a.m., wild queues for breakfast / lunch / dinner. The restaurant is packed and the staff did not come up with anything better than just closing the doors to the entrance. The red price of the hotel is 150-160 thousand for two people for 9 nights. 300 thousand and above is too much and is not worth the money. A special wish is to do beach water aerobics not at 12 o'clock in the afternoon in the heat, but at 9-10 o'clock in the morning. And after the storm, do not mix the algae with sand, but remove it so that they do not decompose and do not stink for a week. I hope you will take note of all these shortcomings and work them out. Gentlemen tourists, take your reppelents with you, mosquitoes eat alive in the evenings... If you wish, you can walk to the neighboring Melia, compare the territories, so to speak, take a look and take pictures. With Sol bracelets, drinks are served at Melia's bar without any problems. The cleaning is very bad, the hair is everywhere. The public areas are also old and dirty, unpleasant to use. The room has the smell of sewage and other delights of the old foundation. Despite the partial renovation of the furniture, no one changed the pipes! Do travel agents praise this hotel and tell you that there is no better place in Cuba? There's a queue for mangoes, and lately there hasn't always been one. Of the fruits, only mangoes and "fruta bomba" (papaya) are delicious. The waiters are not coping, although they are very diligent. We like to dine in restaurants, there are several of them, especially the Italian "O sole mío" and "La parrilla" are good. The conditions in the bungalow are very good, and they are cleaned every day. However, we leave the gifts. Of the cons: dirty plates are sometimes found in the restaurant in general. And especially depressing is the fact that the bungalow has a shower in the bathroom, and an application (even two) was left, and the guide was written (guide Alla is generally a separate story, she does not answer, and sends questions to the reception, her functionality is generally unclear and what her salary is paid for), so we are the sixth a day with a broken shower. In general, it rests well here, dilutes our rest with excursions and we are happy with our rest!

We visited the hotel twice, in 2011 and in 2024. Nothing has changed in 13 years, only there are more people. In principle, we are happy with everything. We lived both times in a bungalow. The furniture and plumbing are old, ancient, you might say. They clean every day, the linen is clean, the beds are comfortable, normal. The food suited us. Of course, there is nothing like it in Europe, but you will definitely not be hungry. The restaurant is full of flies, then you get used to it, there's nowhere to go. There is some kind of animation, we have never been there. The staff is not in a hurry, but this is Cuba, no one is in a hurry here at all. Mind-blowing beach and ocean. The hotel staff is friendly, it is clear that they are trying very hard for the guests. We have always tried to leave tips and various gifts to everyone in the form of medicines, fast food, cosmetics, baby supplies. ocean. He's just gorgeous, there's no need for other words. Although we were not very lucky with the weather, and there were waves almost all the time, it did not spoil the impression at all, in a word - love! Food , cultural program , leisure , service , at the highest level , clean linen , towels were cleaned and refilled every day, refrigerator , iron , air conditioning in both rooms , bottled water. The beach was not cleaned immediately after the storm from the algae, apparently they were waiting for them to dry out. There are several bars with drinks, ice cream and fruits on the territory of the hotel near the pools, as well as an outdoor restaurant that you get directly from the beach, where you can have lunch or just have a snack with hot dogs or burgers. The hotel has a small gym , several souvenir shops and alcohol , a 24-hour bar at the hotel ( excellent drinks , non-alcoholic, are made by smiling bartenders , for $ 1 they will smile even wider )The main restaurant has an abundance of sea products, meat dishes, fruits, cheese of several types of pastries, pizzas, vegetables, salads, everything is very tasty, the waiters are friendly and also happy with small presents. And here it is tomorrow.... they give us new maps and we rush to watch the new bungalow))) geographically, it is half as close) the bungalow turned out to be tired)))) none of the 2 candeums worked))). We go back and voila for $ we solve the issue in a coordinated way). Superior bungalow and everything is very close... Urrrra, you can rest))).
