On the day of arrival in Istanbul, in the evening, we visited the oldest hammam in Istanbul – Chamberlitash Hammam. It is located in the historical center of Istanbul, in the Fatih district. We lived in An Antique, so we walked to the hammam. If anything, the second option is to take the tram. The hammam was built in 1584. The initiator of the construction was the wife of Sultan Selim II. All the money that was raised from the hammam went to charity to the foundation. And only later, with this money, the Atik Walide mosque was built.🕌 The area of the hammam is small, as its capacity is only 40 people. Inside, it is especially beautiful: the steam room (both male and female) is round, with columns. In the center is a huge marble slab, above which rises a dome with many small windows. There are also several separate steam rooms, in the form of small marble houses, where you can go and also sit to warm up, rinse with water (from three wash basins😊 The hammam is heated using a special oven located at the back of the building. Wood chips are used for this purpose.🪵 In addition, after leaving the hammam after the procedures (I'll tell you about this separately), you get into a relaxation area where you can sit, relax, drink delicious Turkish tea, chat in pleasant company Well, now about the procedures. The price of our visit included a full-body exfoliation, as well as a foam massage. Girls, it's such a thrill!🥰 After that, your whole body is like a baby's ass 😊 For an additional fee, you could have a massage lasting almost an hour. In general, we rested and rebooted properly. I liked the scrubbing and foam massage. The oil massage was also good, Mustafa massaged everything from head to toe. Then I took a shower and went back to basking in the hammam. After I got all warmed up and sweated, I went to rest in the room, there is a cot there, you can lie down to cool off.
