I came with my 10-year-old son to see Samarkand. After the city tour, the guide recommended visiting this Zoo Museum. The head of the museum met us, and during our visit he led an excursion to the children's kids.He was a kindergarten age, but he still gave us time, told us to start an independent examination for now, and when he was done with the kids, he came up to us and gave us a wonderful tour in Russian. The museum is rich in exhibits of the animal world of Uzbekistan and imported and donated exhibits. 5 halls: amphibians, insects, animals and birds. We saw rare species. An exhibit from the time of Tamerlane deserves special attention. I won't tell you which one, come and see for yourself) It is very interesting and informative. I recommend you to visit!

We were in Samarkand in the middle of February 2026. We decided to visit the zoological museum at the university. We had an amazing tour by the Scientific director of this museum in Russian. We liked the tour of the museum itself, the collection is very decent and interesting. There is also a small accessible cafe near the museum. There is a small greenhouse nearby, you can take beautiful photos. We recommend you to visit for everything!!
