The Brest Fortress is a special place for me, all my childhood I and my grandfather, a front-line soldier, often visited here, on all Victory holidays and just like that. During my school years, I participated in the honor guard at the Eternal Flame four times. One of the main symbols of the steadfastness of the defenders of the fortress is the Kholm Gate, from which there was the first, strongest onslaught of the German army. Next to them, next to the place where regimental commissar Fomin was shot, the soul freezes from the greatness of the feat and the strength of the spirit of the defenders of the Motherland.

If they ask me if it is worth traveling 300 km from Minsk to visit the Kholm Gate, definitely yes. Don't forget to visit the Museum. Very large-scale.
