I visited it for the first time just now. An unforgettable place for those who know and or are interested in history. It was only when I approached them that I began to catch my breath with excitement. It seemed that every brick screamed from the horror and pain of what it had experienced and seen. Passing through the gate, it was as if something took me back 80 years to June 22, 1941. It seemed to me that the story of the heroic defense of the fortress had pierced through me like a machine-gun burst of fascists. Near the place where regimental Commissar Fomin was shot, his heart was beating every other time.
I know a lot about the history of the Great Patriotic War and therefore places like the Brest Fortress cause me a lot of feelings and emotions. No matter what they say about this war, I will never be able to betray my heroic ancestors by saying that it was all in vain. We should be proud of their great feat. They were not fighting for themselves (they knew perfectly well that they could not be saved). They fought for us!!! I am grateful to the defenders of the Brest Fortress for their endless courage, fortitude and heroism. I advise everyone to visit the Brest fortress.
