Polite staff, good music, delicious food, it is better to make an appointment in advance. There are few people in the evenings on weekdays. One jazz improvisation is about 30 minutes with breaks of 30 minutes.

What a cool jazz band! Just wow!!! I was captivated by your invaluable pianist, who is over 80 years old and plays the piano without looking at the keys ! Bravissimo 👏 my recommendations !
The girl singer lit up the audience in one breath , knows how to cheer up and make the evening cheerful and joyful 😘😇🥳

The jazz here is wonderful. Especially when the Maestro himself comes - Levon Malkhasyan.
Specify in advance when it will be.
Kitchen. The food here is... disgusting to say the least.
I don't understand how you can cook absolutely everything so badly.
In any case, do not order anything that requires cooking. Fruits are allowed, they cannot spoil them.
You'd better eat somewhere else, and order digestives here. And it's better to order whiskey, not cognac. Because their cognacs are brandy, which is passed off as cognac. Apparently, they're hanging out there behind the bar.
The prices are high, even for Yerevan.

A great jazz club, albeit a bit stuck in time. I can only explain this by the advanced age of Malkhaz himself. The concert itself was excellent, the waiters were prompt and responsive. The guys got into the situation that we only managed to book seats from where the stage could not be seen and, at the first opportunity, transferred to a sooo good table right in front of the stage. We haven't tried the kitchen, but it's not the kind of place where they eat. We had a great evening

So much pathos! An overrated place! Alcohol advertising is on every element of the interior. The musicians play memorized numbers. There is no improvisation at all - that is, it is no longer jazz in fact. Ulikhanyan is much better

I didn't like it very much:
1) The service is very poor quality. While we were standing at the entrance and waiting to be accepted, a hostess girl led two groups of guests right in front of our noses until we managed to attract attention. Although we came a lot in advance and were second in line. It seems like a small thing, but it's definitely a bad signal. The waiters can't be reached. They put him face to the post, with his back to the stage. It is very interesting to listen to music and look at the wallpaper. They refused to transfer us: although there was a place on the ground floor - the hall below, where the band plays, was completely empty - they "couldn't" transfer us, as two large groups of guests were waiting. By 11 p.m., however, no one had come there. I think that the seats downstairs are deliberately left empty: there simply aren't enough visitors to occupy the entire establishment, and if everyone goes downstairs, the first floor will be empty, and this will scare away new guests.
2) The kitchen is so-so. The meat was surprisingly tough for such a price. I haven't eaten this for a long time. And half an hour after leaving, the girl's stomach twisted. And now we are wondering: from nerves or from spoiled caprese.
3) The room is old, smoky, and the furniture is all greasy. While we were sitting, we looked at other reviews. We were very surprised that other disappointed guests pointed out exactly the same shortcomings as we did: poor cuisine, unpleasant service, an old sloppy room. And since many others have noticed the same flaws, it means that it is so.
4) The entrance fee is a separate song. The day before, we were at another jazz bar (Ulikhanyan jazz - I advise you to go, just don't take seats too close to the stage and speakers). And they charged us an entrance fee, too. But there is a big difference with Malkhaz: in that bar, we were warned in ADVANCE, even at the booking stage, that there would be an entrance fee, and they told us how much the ticket costs. In Malkhaza, we were not told about this either at the time of booking or at the entrance. Only when I asked directly if there was an entrance fee and how much it cost, they gave me a specific figure - 3 thousand drams per person. But they cheated here too! The real ticket price was not 3 thousand drams, but 3,300 - 10% more. In Armenia, many restaurants include 10% of the total amount of the check as a "tip" in the final bill. I guessed that 10% of the amount of our meals would most likely be included in the receipt. But I didn't even think that 10% of the amount of two tickets would be included in the check! Where is the logic here? This is not a service - tips should not be paid from them in any way! When I asked the manager why we were charged 10% on tickets, they lied to my face that it was VAT, and that they could do nothing. It would seem that 600 drams is a trifle. But it was because of such little things that the evening was ruined.
Separately about the music. There was a jazz band playing in the evening. Some of the songs were covers. In general, we played well, it was nice to listen. Good live music. However, it is simply indecent to sell tickets for this separately - almost 7 thousand drams for two people! The same live music is available in many other restaurants in Yerevan, and completely free of charge!
Malkhaz Jazz is certainly not famous for its cuisine or cover artists, but for its owner, Levon Malkhasyan. If you have to pay, then for the opportunity to hear it live. But by 11 p.m., we had not waited for him. While we were sitting and reading negative reviews, we learned that if the "master" comes out (and he comes out extremely irregularly), it is much after midnight and for 15-20 minutes maximum. So if you want to go to Malkhaz to listen to Malkhasyan, then it's better not to - pay the money, eat tasteless, and most likely you won't wait for him. It's better to listen to it on YouTube. It's completely free!
I understand: grandpa is old, he doesn't care - but the administrator needs to stop hiding behind his name and make the institution work normally.

In short: the waiters are rude and inconsiderate. The fan was upset, they put him around the corner, the stage was not visible, there were normal places.
Long.
We came a little earlier, decided to take a walk. We were strictly told not to be late by signing us up (apparently they chose a table, but they did not offer any options and did not explain the situation). As a result, we came first. We were seated in an empty hall so that the stage was not visible. In an empty hall! And even in an empty hall, I had to wait 10 minutes for a margarita and whiskey. They promised to transfer me if there were any empty seats. There were places, we were not transferred.
After 15-20 minutes, the artists and visitors pulled up. After 30-40 minutes, it all started. And the music turned out to be bad. Not because the musicians are bad. The instrument was upset. The second octave from above, either sol or fa, was so out of tune that there was no mood at all. And this is in the establishment of the famous jazzman.
I went out for a smoke during the break. I asked for a jacket in the wardrobe. The cloakroom attendant asked me not to give up my jacket anymore. He didn't want to work.
We sat until the first break and decided to leave. At the exit of the establishment, my wife was not allowed into the women's restroom. There was a bass player in front of her, by the way.
Well, in short, it's a sad place. I strongly advise you not to go and spoil your evening.

We were unpleasantly surprised. The service is extremely bad. The cocktails taste as if your friend at the reception invited you to try his work.
The music is wonderful, but one of the top notes of the piano is upset, one could write it off as jazz, but as if the shift by a quarter tone is too revolutionary for us.
We have heard so many good things about the club and were very disappointed. Maybe it's a bad day.

In terms of music, it's just awesome, especially when Malkhaz himself comes out on weekends at 12 at night)
Regarding the service, it's a nightmare) We booked a table in advance, the waitress for some reason from the very beginning was very reluctant to ask what we would be and so on. I included 2 extra positions for 10 thousand drams in the bill, but we only found out about it after translating it into Russian in the morning)

Maybe the jazz is good, but we didn't manage to get in, the girl at the entrance an hour before the start said:'actually, you need to reserve, and in general we have a fee, and in general there are places left behind the bar and the stage is not visible,' well, it's clear that it didn't occur to her that she could record for tomorrow or some other option, it's clear that there are many places to go and have a wonderful time, that we and we sat and we wish you

They were in July 2021.
We came to this institution on the advice, and we love such performances ourselves, we go to our city all the time.
The entrance fee is 3000 AMD per person. The dishes are very overpriced. Hookah starts from 15,000 drams (more than 2,000 rubles), while it is made on the cheapest tobacco, they did not take it.
The kitchen is not impressive, absolutely. Yes, you are not going for food, but you will not sit from 21:30 to 00:30 with an empty stomach. The waiters don't try at all. Until you get it out, they won't come on their own.
The place is very smoky, it resembles a pub from the 90s or from old American movies (not a compliment). It's very... strange inside, the old furniture has probably never changed, it's a little dark, the tables are arranged in such a way that you can look at the column, or you can look at the stage, or you can look at the wall - It's not thought out. They will smoke all around you, constantly, without interruption. The hood does not adjust.
It became unbearable for us to breathe and we left.
The keyboards and drums are not bad, but compared to the musicians from Moscow and Yekaterinburg - 2.5 / 5. I did not like the singer.
