If you come to this beautiful city of Sukhum, I highly recommend eating at the cafe Nartaa, I really liked the kebab and boats, my family and I took different tastes, we liked everything very much, we couldn't eat everything at once, we took the leftovers with us, by the way we tried dry wine Soul of Abkhazia, good light, delicious wine.

An ambiguous impression of the establishment... we were in the evening in the middle of September 2024. It was already dark, everything in the cafe was beautiful, illuminated, there were a lot of customers, there were not many empty seats. The waitresses are friendly, very nimble. And here's the food... either we had high expectations, or the cafe's attendance is based on its former glory... in general, khachapur boat is incomparable, tkemali sauce is very tasty. And everything. Beef lula (2 large portions) are very, very over-dried, if it were not for the sauce it would not be possible at all, I was hungry, but I ate less than 1 pc. Lamb shish kebab is marinated delicious, but a lot of veins and fat is not pleasant to eat. Fries without salt at all - salt yourself. Eggplant rolls were not at all impressed, they ate much tastier, compote is not self-made, but factory bottled, very sweet, it is necessary to dilute 1 to 1 with water. In general: whether we will come here a second time is unlikely, if only for a boat.

I took off one star for the fact that the waitress began to clear the dishes and pour the leftovers right in front of us while we were sitting at the table. I take off the second star for the fact that a cockroach crawled onto the table and the waitress tried to kill it with an empty bottle and in the end it did not work, the cockroach ran away. I asked for a discount for moral damage, to which the waitress said, "you've already eaten and a cockroach was running across an empty table." I'm taking off another star for refusing a discount.
Among the advantages: delicious food and a cheap price tag. The question arose, if they have cockroaches running around the tables, then in what conditions they cook in the kitchen. I do not recommend it.

Sukhum is my homeland, many years ago I was born in this wonderful city, my grandmother lived here. Now there are only memories, not even a house left after the war. I was in the Nartaa cafe back in 1983, maybe then it had a different name, but memories ...
Now I visited this place with my granddaughter. There are a lot of visitors, decent service, interesting menu, pleasant prices. Khachapur was exceptional! I recommend visiting this cafe

We visited the Nartaa cafe in July 2024.Two-fold impressions remained from the visit. Beautiful territory,well maintained,beautiful interior,but... We ordered meat in Abkhazian, boat with egg, Chicken soup, Peacock tail salad, green tea and a bottle of beer, the receipt was 1400 rubles.It seems like everything is delicious and beautiful, but... I didn't like the behavior of the staff, who got drunk and worked on the dump.The beer was brought almost hot, after eating and not overpowering the boat, they asked us to pack it with us, to which we fastidiously stuffed it into a bag, but how, like, it would do.We visited many places with national cuisine in Sukhum, so there are less interesting places with delicious cuisine.The rating is 3 stars with a big stretch. This is the place that should be visited by everyone who comes to Sukhum , cheap and very tasty, awesome pizza , khachapuri. Great place, I recommend it to everyone. I have visited this institution many times since 2020. The food is excellent, the serving is excellent, the portions are large, very tasty. The prices are quite adequate. It is popular with both tourists and locals. Sometimes there is not enough space in the evenings, although there are a lot of seats, this indicates the popularity of this place. I will definitely visit Sukhum next time in Abkhazia.

Narthaa is love! A very soulful restaurant. Beautiful view from the veranda. They serve you very quickly. The boats are great! I liked almost everything that was ordered, except for the barbecue. I was here in the old days, and I liked the atmosphere and the cuisine. But what I saw today is just tin. 1. All visitors smoke on the territory. That's literally EVERYTHING - there is not a single table where you can hide from cigarette smoke, it's just a nightmare. Instead of dividing the smoking and non-smoking areas, the owners of the establishment stupidly turned everything into one smoking room! If you do not smoke, then you will be extremely uncomfortable being there.
2. The waiters don't care about you as much as possible - they will approach you about 30 minutes after arrival. And you'll be lucky if the food arrives faster, along with the necessary appliances. After that, you will wait another half hour for you to be counted out. I had to find a waitress on my own after a long wait. Payment is only in cash or by transfer.
3. One of the dishes I ordered was a boat - it was burnt and oak. So much so that I couldn't break the bottom, and I had to chew on what was on top. The egg was not raw, but overexposed. To my remark that the boat was burnt and tasteless, the waitress said in a condescending tone: "not burnt, but toasted!" Seriously??? It is impossible to eat it! This is some kind of horror, there are no words. No apologies and taking responsibility for the joint, no attempts to replace the dish (although, of course, I had already gnawed it) - still nothing was done at all. Except for the sneers in my direction.
I will never come here again and I will not advise anyone I know. This place is not worth the nerves, money, or time spent. Everything has gone downhill after 2020.

I was in this restaurant 13 years ago. I fell in love with him and went every day. Unfortunately, it has deteriorated very much. The only thing that has remained unchanged is the Boat, it is still as gorgeous. The shish kebab is dry . We didn't take the loin on purpose, but the meat turned out to be tough and very salty. We took 4 servings and all of them were completely tasteless. They couldn't drink compote from feijoa, the sweetness was such that it made their teeth ache, they had to dilute it with water. But the dogwood compote is delicious. It was important to us that there was no coriander in the sauce (allergy), the waitress convinced us that there was parsley, we asked 3 times, but they brought tomato sauce with coriander. The soup is not rich, the meat is coarse, it looks like pork. Very charmed

The third time it gets unpleasant because of the staff. I will most likely go to other places whenever possible. And for those who want to visit, I will tell you the full impressions.
The advantages are delicious food, fast enough serving of dishes. The prices are not cheap, but acceptable.
Cons - the staff is kind of exhausted, because of this they communicate appropriately, the experienced are just rude and through the lip. Discussing everyone and everything without leaving practically. I went in and sat down at an empty table, but I wanted to be by the window. When he was free, I moved. I was indignantly told that it was impossible - there was another waitress there!!! After that, an unpleasant aftertaste and the food did not bring pleasure, the mood was spoiled ((Despite the fact that by the time of serving there were several empty tables by the window, they continued to talk as if I was not there or I could not hear.
I hope the owners read the reviews and take all the shortcomings into account.

I had a rest in Sukhum at the end of September... On my first visit I was pleasantly surprised. Very quickly served + everything was quite tasty. During the next two more attempts to visit this place, we did not manage to leave here well-fed and satisfied. Because the waiters could not take our order for 20 minutes. Although at the same time, with everything, we stopped the waitresses several times, who said that they would come up now.. In general, visiting this place is like a fart.. lucky/ unlucky.

Oh, this is a great place! It's a special pleasure to come here after working up a decent appetite! Wonderful national cuisine! Wonderful portions and prices. I recommend weak-willed people to stock up on mizimoi or whatever you like, but it's hard to resist overeating here. This restaurant is not for drinking coffee in silence. Many local families come with children. Khachapur has as many as three sizes! I definitely recommend it and on occasion I will return myself if I am in Sukhum.

From the embankment, this place can be immediately overlooked, but when you enter the courtyard you realize that this is a multi-level restaurant. A 5-star restaurant on the cards, but what's the reality?
In fact, everything is sad. It took us a while to realize what we had signed up for.
Yes, the prices are slightly lower than everywhere else in Sukhum, but the quality is correspondingly lower. In the case of some dishes - by an order of magnitude.
The courtyard looks beautiful. All tables are outside under awnings, in gazebos or on balconies.
There is a special contingent going there. Basically everyone comes to drink. Noise and din, like in school canteens. The waiter(s/ki) is also from the same place, they are rude. In general, there is nothing for young people to do here, it is easier to overpay a few hundred and eat comfortably.
According to the dishes that were taken.
* Nemo salad. Solid boiled potatoes and diced carrots. It doesn't taste good. The level of the canteen.
* Dioscuria salad. Onion rings from under a barbecue, boiled mussels, tomatoes, lettuce leaves. It's just a nightmare. The most terrible thing that can be encountered. The worst canteens provide better food.
*Pork kebab. It's fine, nothing special. Edible.
* Boats with cheese and smoked pork. Delicious. At the proper level. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. You can take it.
* Meat in Abkhaz. Delicious. Hot sauce. The only thing I liked about this whole place was the dishes I ate. Part of the dish was warm, and part was cold, as if it had been heated unevenly in the microwave.
* Tea. Along the way, it's Java with jasmine. No kidding. The worst tea that was drunk in the cafe.
* Beer. There's only a light bottle here. They took Sukhumi. It tastes so-so.
Result. Avoid this place. I don't understand why there are such queues for places. The shops are all packed. And people go there steadily. I advise you to take a closer look at other places outside the coastal zone. There are enough of them. Yes, they will come out a little more expensive, but it will be delicious and comfortable. For comparison: in another cafe in a comfortable room, we sat in silence for 3920 rubles. and ate too much. There wasn't a dish that we didn't like. Now we sat on 3570 and spat all evening.

I remember this place from my childhood, from the 80s. Great khachapuri, like then, lemonade. The only thing was that there was no assorted greens. Overall, the visit to the Nartaa restaurant was pleasant. The kebab was very tasty, and the salads, although simple, also pleased with their taste. The only thing is, I would add a little dressing to the salads to make them more juicy.
