We stayed at this hotel for two days in September in 311 rooms! Great location, brand new family hotel! Snow-white linen and towels, smiling staff, a smart chef, bought the tastiest honey from him! Located on the seashore, there are sun loungers,beach towels, everything is within walking distance!Among the disadvantages: the lack of a fumigator in the room (a lot of mosquitoes), the cleaner sweeps the floors with a wet broom, and she hasn't looked under the bed for probably a month! In the common corridor on the third floor, I also swept with a wet broom! It's strange, for such a hotel!!!!!If we are allowed to enter the hotel after such a review, we will definitely return!

We stayed at the hotel with friends in April 2022. The rooms are very dirty. The furniture is old, the sewer does not work! They don't clean up. During the whole holiday, we never cleaned, there was no toilet paper, shampoos, soap, fortunately we had everything with us. On the last day, we decided to speak out about all this, to which the receptionist just shook her head, and the cleaner claimed that we were cheating and that she cleaned every day. The only view from the windows is beautiful.

We had a rest in the "Orchid" at the end of September 2021.
Since we have vacationed in Abkhazia many times, in different hotels, there is something to compare it with.
And in our opinion, the Orchid Hotel is undeservedly called bad or worse, especially to express anti-advertising opinions.
There is a concept of "specifics of Abkhazia". And this is what we also faced - almost daily nighttime power outages, poor air conditioning, the smell of sewage in the bathrooms in the rooms, the lack of landscaping of roads, entrances to the hotel, and the ill-fated rotovirus infection, which almost all vacationers are exposed to, as we found out in communication with other tourists.
But at the same time, I categorically disagree with the reviews, where it was claimed that there were some problems with wet cleaning, we had cleaning and linen change without problems.And personally, we have never been denied wet cleaning, changing of linen, towels.
It should be noted that starting from check-in, and we arrived very early in the morning, and until the very departure, all the staff behaved very attentively, kindly, and caring. Any issue depending on them was resolved.
Abkhazia is a country where the devastation after the military events has not yet been eliminated. Therefore, it is simply ridiculous to compare its terms of service and capabilities with Turkey and Egypt.
But if you are ready for the sake of a clean, gentle sea, beautiful mountains, friendly, attentive and friendly attitude of the population, which diligently changes Abkhazia for the better every year, to suffer temporary trifles, flaws and inconveniences, to notice and appreciate attention, I think you will get the same unforgettable emotions as our family.
We plan to visit Abkhazia and the Orchid Hotel in Gagra and recommend it to understanding, adequate, demanding, but not overly picky guests.

from the advantages:

- an extraordinary view of the amazing sunsets from the cafe on the fifth floor
- edible food
- beach towels, umbrellas and sun loungers are included in the price
of the cons:
- there are no blankets. at all. generally
- the room stock is hungry for repairs
- next to a cafe with music screaming from 19-00 to 23-00 (music is usually heard from rooms with sea views)
- descent to the sea via a rickety wooden staircase, but there are two iron stairs nearby, they are a little better

Good time of day, we rested in Orchids from 09.06 to 06/17/2021 with a large family (5 people), booked two rooms next to each other through a Tour Operator, the result: one room on the 1st floor with a view of the smoking room, the second on the 2nd floor with a view of the mountains, but with a balcony, which pleased us very much.
The hotel itself is very hospitable, the rooms are clean, cleaned every day, the linen is clean, white, washed after three days, the staff is very friendly, they cooked delicious in the dining room, they really liked the breakfasts.
But I would like to say separately about the sea, it's just wonderful that the hotel is located on the first line, 50 meters from the water, everything was provided and sun beds and umbrellas for free. There were some inconveniences due to the accommodation on different floors, but overall I liked everything. I recommend

We rested in the Orchid from 06/17.21-06/27.21, the room was on the ground floor, which at first did not quite suit me personally (mountain view), but then I realized that it was okay. The rooms are clean, cleaned every day, the linen is snow-white! Buffet meals, we took breakfast + dinner.the food is very tasty, homemade, I would say. (Many thanks to the chefs). The sea is 50 meters away, sun beds, umbrellas, towels are all from the hotel. I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff of the hotel, and especially to the administrator Oksana and the head of security Arsan, you are wonderful, sensitive and responsive people. The only thing missing in the hotel is animation for children and at least a small playground on site. I wish you prosperity and long work. If possible, we will come again! 💐

I liked everything!!!!!!!!!!
The hotel is located right on the coastline, very hospitable and courteous staff, cleaning and linen change every 3 days or if necessary- no problem, high-quality bed linen, water in the shower constantly, there is a boiler, hairdryer and detergents, you can not take shampoos and gels, air conditioning in the room, table, large bed, a closet with a mirror. A small balcony with 2 armchairs where you can sit in the evening. Our room faced the mountains, a very beautiful sunrise, magnificent mountains even saw a bear.
In the morning we went swimming before breakfast.
The kitchen is a separate topic! Just a family friendly atmosphere❤Thank you (rahmet) chef Sasha, for his attitude towards us, his pilaf, cutlets with puree, khinkali, trout and lamb, wants it now, we miss it!!! Advice to everyone: do not look for other food on the coast, here you will be fed to the brim with delicious and, most importantly, safe food., buffet-you can taste all the dishes, and there is always a variety of at least 2 second courses, each time a very tasty soup, and if you want something individual, the chef will cook you right away. For example, my husband once said that he does not eat khinkali with greens-next time Sasha comes up and says, today he cooked a batch of khinkali without greens)))
Waitress Marina and Nadyushka, hello to you, you were just a family for us, very sincere and warm.
Finally, the hotel is located at the end of the embankment, it is quiet and cozy there, if you want to walk along the cafes with loud music - please, it is to the right of the hotel - nearby:hotel Abkhazia and beyond. Yes, you can also see the water park from the windows nearby.
In short, we highly recommend it, on the trail. A year is only there!!!

1. Dirty room! But there was a huge stain on the wall (I'm attaching a photo, I think it's clear what it's from). Agree, spending a vacation in such a place is such a pleasure! We swore at the reception several times that the room was cleaned terribly: there are a lot of "mosquito corpses" on the wall, the air conditioner is all stained, the floors were poorly washed, in 6 days we never had our bed made or our linen changed, plus I remind you of a dirty wall. We brought both the administrator and the cleaner "by the hand", as a result, they only wiped the wall for us.
Also, there is not even a table on the balcony, therefore, there is no point in taking a room with a view of the mountains or the sea. We got a room with a mountain view, in fact the view was of old houses and some kind of landfill (I attach a photo). If you still decide to stay at this hotel, do not overpay for the mountain view. Take it either with a sea view or without a balcony at all (there is no point in a balcony), plus there are a lot of bedbugs (but this is the trouble of the entire southern side (both Russia and Abkhazia)), so take this fact into account.
The food at the hotel is monotonous and not always edible. In principle, you can choose something for dinners, but they only give you chicken (no fish, no meat). Breakfasts are even worse: sometimes I only ate a bun with condensed milk, because the rest is inedible. Sausages and sausage from one kind do not inspire confidence, the young man tried, but did not eat, says that the taste is terrible. For breakfast, they also give vegetable salads that have not been finished since dinner, that is, all the vegetables in them have already "floated away". Fruits were not given even once!
In general, we were extremely dissatisfied with the hotel. The cleaning is for show, the rooms are dirty, the food is primitive, monotonous and not always edible.

The TV does not work around the clock, three rooms were rented, none of them worked!Cleaning and changing of towels, only in five days!!!!There are no duvet covers in the room.The siphon in the sink is clogged.The gap in the balcony door is in the finger!If you want to take a room for the night, then it's normal.... if something is more, then it's not worth half of it!!!!!

Adequate staff, led by the charismatic, responsive owner of the Ahra, provide comfort and comfortable accommodation.
The rooms are spacious, bright, clean, new plumbing, snow-white bed linen and very comfortable beds, which is important!
The sea edge is 8-10 meters away!

Not a bad mini-hotel. But there are so many disadvantages when staying. The air conditioner didn't work well, I had to wash the filter myself. The rooms smell of sewage. Cleaning is not daily. And I don't want to talk about nutrition, The food was mixed with what was cooked the day before. Everything is monotonous and tasteless. The dishes were poorly washed and there was not always enough clean. Even dogs didn't eat sausages. There was no fruit at all.

Good evening. This is the first time in Abkhazia. I've never had a worse vacation in my life. During the vacation, mosquitoes and mold became our neighbors. I chose the hotel based on reviews (mostly all positive reviews) I don't know who writes these reviews. There is a complete lack of sanitation around the hotel. There is a sewer running along the path, there are only garbage cans and a stink around. The hotel turns off the water and lights every night. There is no Internet connection, the TV does not work. There is no ventilation or hoods in the rooms. Every night you wait for it to end faster. We decided to leave earlier, so the whole family picked up a rotovirus infection. This is such a vacation.

In general, not a bad hotel for those who want to come to the sea, the sea is close by, the hotel has its own beach with umbrellas and sun loungers, it is provided for free, the location is quite good, much is within walking distance.
Of the advantages:
- the room has air conditioning
- I can also personally note for myself the advantages of this is that we were given a room with a mountain view, if you want to take a sea view, then the sun will be scorching in the room all day
- not bad breakfasts and dinners
Of the cons:
- our room was the most extreme (409) and therefore did not catch Wi-Fi
well - when cleaning the room, soap and shampoo with shower gel were not brought, we had to ask at the reception, in other hotels in the Russian Federation that we were in, they were brought every day regardless of whether you used them or not and also with towels, here they were not changed even after a day or at least two
- there was a missing shelf in the shower in the room
- sometimes I came across badly washed dishes in their dining room

We had a rest at the end of September 2020. The only advantage is the proximity to the sea. For very unassuming guests. Breakfasts in the *restaurant* are very meager, there has never been fruit, even cucumbers with tomatoes in this dining room (I do not know why this room is called a restaurant) are very rare. If someone does decide to come here, keep in mind that it is impossible to sleep at night in rooms with sea views because of the loud music from the cafe on the left, and in the afternoon it will be noisy because of the mooring boats, from which you will be invited to various excursions very loudly. There is no yard, I do not know what kind of comfort and cleanliness of the yard they write about. If we consider a courtyard to be a nook with 3 tables and chairs, then OK, apparently this place is called a courtyard)) The hotel is located at the very end of the embankment, you will have to walk along the small pebbles for some distance to the paved pedestrian path, in open shoes it is not very pleasant.
The second plus sign was put only for the fairy of cleanliness on the 4th floor, unfortunately we did not get to know her.
I don't recommend it to anyone. There is a Grand hotel Abkhazia nearby, choose it, the price is almost the same))

I'll start with the fact that we bought this beautiful view from the window, we had a family room, we paid about 6000 rubles per day for it. This is a rather high price for Abkhazia.
I must say right away that the price does not match the quality! The hotel is actually an economy hotel.
The hotel kindly called us an individual "transfer" from Sochi for 2500, we drove to the border in a normal car, and then got out and transferred to a broken minibus with a home seat instead of a seat where there were no seat belts, with a broken window, there is no question of an air conditioner, with a driver who violated the rules, thank you for We've arrived.
For reference, there is a normal transfer in Abkhazia, so this is not the norm!
The rooms were smoky, they turned to the administrator for all 5 days of their stay and constantly listened to excuses from the series: "yes, you can't smoke here, we'll talk to the vacationers / we'll fix the hoods." As a result, of course, the problem was not solved and we lived with this disgusting smell all day. I suspect that someone from the staff was smoking (perhaps in the dining room just above us) and the staff knew about it, so no measures were taken. But this is just a guess. You just know that the rooms stink.
The next point is the dining room. It's just bad. First of all, I got poisoned on the very first day (I only ate there), and I didn't go there anymore! The quality of the food leaves much to be desired, and after I learned from the locals how cafes in Abkhazia receive sanitary certificates, everything fell into place... Maybe such arrangements are normal for locals, but there is a concept of a standard of quality and cleanliness, and sometimes vacationers can get poisoned.
The food in this dining room is for the very unpretentious and those who do not bother with the quality of food and do not read the composition of the products.
The next important point is the noise!
I don't know why no one writes about it, but the music from the neighboring cafes won't let you live! You will not be able to open the balcony even once, let alone sit on it on warm evenings. You can just forget about peace of mind!
You will fall asleep to chanson and karaoke coming either from the nearest cafe on the left or on the right (it plays steadily every day until one o'clock in the morning)! You can hear it even with the windows closed and with earplugs!
It was so hard that I wanted to climb the walls.
In the morning, the same story, only now you will hear music from motor ships and ships that approach the shore every 10 minutes without stopping.
Naturally, we bought into this view from the window and came to this hotel, dreaming of sitting on the balcony at least once, but in the end we simply did not open the balcony.
One of the advantages.
The hotel has its own beach and there are really fewer people there than on the beaches next door, there are their own sun beds and umbrellas.
Friendly staff (who however did not solve the smoke problem in the room).
Clean sea (which does not apply to the hotel).
The room has bathrobes, towels, including for the beach.
The pros didn't cover the cons for me. We booked the hotel at the last moment, when all decent hotels had already been dismantled and the Orchid was one of the good reviews. But I really don't understand how you can be satisfied with everything that I wrote above. I don't recommend this hotel, especially for that kind of money.
