The Bolshoi Theatre is a must-visit if you have come to get to know Minsk. A huge building, lots of light and air. It is better to come here an hour before the performance to go to the buffet (it is inexpensive here), walk along the floors and look at the columns, chandeliers, paintings, busts of Roman emperors, take a photo on the stairs, etc. We were here for the ballet Swan Lake and the opera Carmen. The audience is grateful - they applaud the artists for a long time and from the bottom of their hearts. We will definitely come here again on our next trip to Minsk 💪

Come early, parking is a problem, especially since there is where and how to spend time before the performance: you can look at stage costumes, check into photo zones, and just have a cup of coffee in the buffet. You can book a table in advance, especially if you are with a group and not driving.
Who rarely goes to the opera - take seats in the box on the mezzanine, in the last row. There you can tap into the phone without disturbing others.

I visited this place in the fall of 2024. I listened to the opera The Barber of Sibyl, the opera was in Italian, with the credits, which in turn were in Russian. The theater itself is beautiful, as befits the main theater of the capital. Clean, marble columns, space and buffet. The prices in the buffet are reasonable, alcoholic beverages are slightly higher than usual, but it's not scary. The acting is wonderful. The disadvantage is that you have to look at the translation of the Italian opera, lowering your eyes down to the translation in the running line. It seems to me it would be more convenient to place this line on top, and the heads do not interfere and the neck does not get tired)))

Very tasty pizza. The balance of dough and filling is what you need, fresh fragrant pesto, lots of prosciutto. Friendly waiters. The place is popular, I couldn't get in on Thursday evening without booking. I returned in the daytime and did not regret it.
I didn't have enough comfort, but it's such a concept, simple and open.

Minsk is lucky with the theater! Actually, the repertoire here is very different, we got to the ballet, just because we had not been to the ballet for a long time and coincided with a visit to Minsk. The atmosphere is excellent, the detailed and very beautifully restored building both externally and with interiors sets a very solemn atmosphere. A lot of buffets are scattered on the floors so as not to create a stir. The prices are quite reasonable, both for tickets and in the buffet.
The hall is comfortable with a good slope - the audience in front does not block the view. Wide aisles, generally nice. The area in front of the theater with a fountain is also great.
The toilets are large and clean.
I'm definitely not a critic of art and I won't review a specific production, I'll just say that I liked everything.

The theater is majestic and very beautiful, we were in the chamber hall at a concert of musicians of the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra of Belarus, wind instruments, the concert was ecstatic, emotions were off the scale, everyone played just super, trombonists, trumpeters, I remember the drummer Mikhail Konstantinov and the clarinetist forgot the name of the Bubble? Attended by a very large company at the Nutcracker Ballet on December 6th. What can I say? It's just creepy. I hope we were just very unlucky with the artists: not a troupe, but a crowd of captured Romanians! I suspect they were recruited from an ad on kufara. Some of the dancers were so tired that they jumped from a fool: some into the forest, some for firewood. The overall impression of the picture was stretched only by Drosselmeyer's legs in blue tights, I won't even start picking up adjectives about mice – in a word, sur. Or even a circus. The hall is wonderful, just a fairy tale - no complaints, which cannot be said about the audience. The whole performance, from the very beginning to the very end, I thought only about one thing: where did people cough before the invention of theaters? We felt not at the performance, but in the tuberculosis department. But this claim is not a big one.
I'll put a three: for two creep dolls on the sides of the stage and one more for brut.

The magnificent building of the theater. We listened to the opera "La Boheme". To be honest, the vivid impressions of the performance are largely due to the design. The artist who worked on the design of the opera found ingenious solutions. So many images, metaphors... It's worth going to the opera for this. I didn't like the actors' performance so much. The dramatic component seemed particularly weak to me.

The best theater in Minsk. A gorgeous poster every month. Colorful, meaningful productions. It's cozy inside and nice to walk in the park near the theater. Great fountain season opening ceremonies. I'm shooting a star for the attitude of some theater workers: some turned off the lights in the hall after the evening performance and drove away those who wanted to take a memorable photo, others drove people out of the wardrobe with the phrase "Let's hurry up. We are already closed." There was an unpleasant aftertaste.

A magnificent theater! The first time I was in Minsk and the first visit to the theater and watching the ballet "Swan Lake". The theater is gorgeous, I came from Moscow for a few days and went to Prince Igor, I liked it so much that I also went to Eugene Onegin. The theater itself is very beautiful, the vocalists sing beautifully. An incredible orchestra of strength. For a Muscovite, an opera for 500 rubles is just a gift from heaven!!! The next time I go to Minsk, I will book the opera in advance. Of the minuses, I can only note the absence of a Wi-Fi zone on the territory of the theater. We visited the opera La Traviata with our daughter. The theater itself is amazing! This is one of the few buildings in Minsk that survived after the war, although the city was almost completely destroyed - the Germans knew a lot, and decided to keep the theater for themselves. The interior is very beautiful and solemn and at the same time without excessive pretentiousness. As for the production, you need to have a very good and subtle taste (and of course courage) in order to transfer the classic plot to the modern world. Everything was exactly like that here - carefully, tactfully, with taste. Well, the great music of Verdi and the vocal skills of the artists are creepy, to tears! At the end of the action, the whole hall gave a standing ovation!!! I was surprised by the lack of crowds and queues (to the cloakroom, buffet, toilet), as well as the location itself - a little away from the big streets, in a green park area. And yet, the rather early start and end time of the action is from 18:00 to 20:55 (although there were 3 intermissions between the actions!). What was the right decision - to take tickets to this theater in advance (ordered from Moscow, when planning a trip)! And by the way, the ticket price (1st row of the dress circle, the middle is about 600 Russian rubles), however, as well as the prices in the buffet are simply amazing! Oh, if our Big tickets cost that much, I wouldn't get out of there! 🤣

Among the advantages: affordable tickets (unlike in Russia, for example), but the level, of course, is not the same. Cool scene features - lights, visual effects. Of course, the live sound is cool. The level of the dancers is average, the vocals have been very disappointing in places lately. And I really want a ballet NOT by Elizariev, I want a fresh approach, new ideas and solutions. I am glad that the program always includes, in addition to classics, Belarusian productions: for example, according to Korotkevich.
