It doesn't seem to be a noticeable place if you skip it. But I highly recommend it. The view is gorgeous on Sukhum! I almost fell off the wall - be very careful! The view is very gorgeous! There are no photos, but it's better to try it yourself)

Beautiful view of Sukhum. The cafe is closed. It takes a long time to get uphill on your own. We drove our car to the signpost. And then we walked.

A picturesque place with its own history, it is better to go to the castle in cloudy weather or early in the morning, it is difficult to climb in the heat. There is a cafe upstairs, if you wish, you can have a snack. The castle offers a beautiful view of the city and the sea

There are a couple of signs up the hill of Bagrat Street. Go to the end of the street and stop at two wickets (pictured), enter the small gate on the left, it is open. And then some turn back, because there are no signs. The information board (pictured) is already located behind the gate. You can climb the fortress on the left (a steep climb), or walk along the wall on the right - there will also be a small cafe, and the climb there is gentle. The fortress is beautiful, even if it is small: I love old stone rough masonry - beautiful and for centuries! The views are gorgeous too!

It's a good place. Unlike Sukhumi Hill, it is much more accessible, the climb is small and the view from the ruins of the castle. There is a cafe. The castle has a thousand-year history. Which is very nice, quite clean, unlike many similar places.

Within walking distance in Sukhum. You can get there by taxi and not a long walk to the ruins of the castle with very beautiful views of Sukhumi Bay. There is a cafe near the castle, sheltered in a gazebo from the downpour.
I recommend visiting for lovers of antiquity ..., walls and one arch remain from the castle, other buildings have not been preserved...

Bagrat did a good job, strained, built. Abkhazians take their time using it, there is little left of the former structure.

Ruins remain on the site of the castle. But they are colorful. We arrived at sunset, and we got beautiful photos. The road up is bad, very narrow and steep in places, but we reached almost the end of Mount Bagrat Street, then walked up for three minutes. There are no signs, we were guided by the navigator. It is a pity that this is a forgotten tourist attraction, not well maintained at all.

It's a beautiful place. They were rising after a thunderstorm. We drove half the way by car, then on foot. The views are gorgeous. Of course, it is difficult to understand from the ruins how everything looked, but this does not overshadow admiring the city. There is also a cafe nearby. We ordered a barbecue, sauce for it, salad and lemonade for two. 1000 rubles came out . The portions are large and shish kebab and salad, pita bread is hot. Frankly speaking, this is the best place and food after a week in Sukhum, after all the cafes and restaurants.

To say that there is a castle is to greatly exaggerate, there is a hill, part of the wall and a window opening.
There is nothing to look at from the point of view of historical value.
But surprisingly, you want to sit and relax there, maybe have a snack, it looks like a place of power.
Take a picnic basket with you😉

One of the sights of the capital of Abkhazia. I don't know what they say on organized excursions, we went on our own. So you can take a quiet walk and enjoy the nature of the historical place. If you drive your own car, be prepared for the divorce of local traffic cops. Ideally, have your own DVR...

And the views from the mountain to the sea are something that cannot be conveyed! The photos are beautiful. We visited and went around everything at this point. The disregard for history, the abandonment of the monument of architecture and historical value is striking. It is better not to drive by car, parking nearby will cause great difficulties, it is better to walk from below. There's not much to look at. Ruins with an inconspicuous plaque with a single paragraph of text.
