The castle itself is not really a castle, but one semicircular fortress wall, which offers a beautiful view of the city. But the best thing there is is the road above, to the weather tower, which offers the best view of the sunsets in all of Sukhumi

Don't go and waste your time on vacation. I will save money and attach what you will see in the end. There is nothing that is written in the reviews somewhere. Stones (remnants of the tower) and thickets. There are many other historical places to visit.
We wanted to enjoy the story, but the impression turned out to be blurred.

There is no human entrance, you make your way through the private sector and then climb the batteries, ruins (like a castle) all in the garbage, the tourists-pigs have made a mess of the whole territory, but no one is in a hurry to clean up! If you are still brought to Sukhum, then visit, especially if I had known I would not have gone! Of course there is a view of Sukhum, but there is nothing to look at, I was here for the first time and expected to see at least something, but there is pain here, I am from Russia from a distant province, but even we have a civilization compared to the capital here, of course there is pain, I am shocked!

The photo does not show Bagrat's castle on Bagrat's mountain in Sukhum, but the Anakopian fortress on Iverskaya Mountain in New Athos.
