We stayed at the hotel for 10 days in the middle of June, overall, the impression is very good. A hotel with an authentic atmosphere, a great place for a photo session. The room had a view of the garden, we thought in fact, if you don't like it, pay extra for the sea view. But it wasn't necessary, because the rooms in the garden are as quiet as possible, you can't hear music and discos from neighboring hotels, the renovation is fresh. When you sit on the balcony in the evening, you can touch palm trees and cypress trees with your hand. Food: the breakfasts were a little pumped up (but there is a chef who cooks egg dishes to order), and every day at lunch and dinner there are several (!) types of meat and fish, including grilled. People on healthy lifestyle can easily make up their diet. Alcohol: rose was rated from wines, mojito cocktails. A special kind of pleasure is a taxi boat to Bodrum. 150 lire per person, 10 minutes and you're in the center. They run until 1 a.m. every 15 minutes. In June, there were a lot of free sun beds, but there is no beach as such, just a very narrow strip of sand. We sunbathed on the pier or on deck chairs on the lawn, closer to the stall with ice cream and watermelons. A 100% safe place for small children to swim, because the water entry is very shallow and long. If someone goes with elderly relatives, it's not a good idea, because the hotel is located in tiers down the mountain, endless stairs. You can use the elevators. But when you see the view of the bay, you forgive everything: the stairs, the narrow beach..It's incredible, absolutely mesmerizing! About the staff: friendly, nice people, they remember which drinks you prefer. Animator Hussein works well: he gathered us with the guys for a trip to the club street (there was a concert by a Turkish dj with 36 million subscribers in the Institute), he is very friendly, unobtrusively communicates with the guests Of the tourists, mostly Turks (60%), they say that this hotel is one of the first built in the bay, some Turks remembered how they went here as children. We had a vacation in Bodrum for the first time this fall. When choosing a hotel, there were many criteria and our travel agent offered us the Salmakis Resort & Spa hotel. I was impressed by the photos of the hotel and as it turned out, everything was exactly as in the photo. The hotel offers scenic views of the bay and the old town with a fortress. We were very satisfied. According to the hotel: The only negative was at the very beginning of the arrival, but then everything was sorted out. Initially, we were accommodated in a room on the 1st floor, next to the pool and in proximity to the restaurant/bar. But immediately upon entering, we realized that we would be moving to another room. The room smelled eerily damp and the bathroom was absolutely in disrepair. We were offered to stay in this room for the night because there were no available rooms, and in the morning we were shown another one in the main building. And we moved in (without extra charges). We were completely satisfied with the room - quiet, overlooking the courtyard garden with blooming bougainvillea. By the way, the whole hotel is surrounded by the bright colors of this tree. And, of course, the snow-white hotel with blue and yellow domed roofs and ultra-blue stairs everywhere resembles Greek Santorini. Even the name of the hotel is associated with an ancient Greek myth. The hotel is ideal for a photo shoot, there is a local photographer. Before leaving, we arranged a photo set as a keepsake)) Yes, this hotel is for a family-friendly, measured vacation. Without daytime animation and endless activities (this was a plus for us). Live music in the evening after dinner and a dance show a couple of times a week. For children there is a small playground, a playroom, but also without any special children's animation. One communal pool and a mini baby paddling pool. A big plus is the hotel's beach (the water is moderate-just over a hundred meters deep, but with small children it is very convenient and safe). In terms of the quality and variety of food in the hotel, absolutely everything was fine. At lunch and dinner, there were always several types of meat (for example, three types of lamb dishes, beef, that is, not a single chicken-turkey), two types of fish each. I'm a lover of olives - there were 8 types of them every day. There was porridge for breakfast a couple of times, if that's important to anyone (but since mostly locals and Europeans stay at the hotel, there aren't many Russians, the buffet is Turkish-European). The fruits are incredibly fragrant and sweet melon and ripe figs. And another feature at breakfast is honeycombs with honey. One of the disadvantages is that there was no freshly squeezed juice in the UAI, but in our experience, not all luxury Turkish hotels have fresh juices for breakfast (it's clear that for an additional payment will be provided). There is also a bar-restaurant for those who don't have enough buffet. This restaurant operates several times a week as a seafood a la carte. We went to dinner at this restaurant once and were absolutely delighted. Another disadvantage is the large number of wasps on the terraces during breakfast/lunch. We have already encountered such a "phenomenon" in a premium hotel in Greece. Waiters periodically put steaming coffee on to scare away the striped ones. One of the advantages of this hotel is its proximity to the old town (you can take a taxi boat in 5 minutes. or walk 20-30 minutes. to the Castle of St.Peter). Also of the attractions within walking distance of the mill, which offers panoramic views). Definitely, we would have come back here again. We also liked the Bodrum Peninsula itself, although there was little time to explore it on foot. So we'll definitely be back.

Cons, although I'm not picky: I think that the hotel management is seriously underworking, and it's not even about the old rooms that have been in need of repair for a long time, but about the quality of service and some savings. There are many examples - the pool floor is always dirty, the tables at the tents are dirty, the shower on the beach broke down at the beginning of our stay, it was not repaired in a week, the rooms were poorly cleaned, the floor was not vacuumed, the lock to the toilet did not work. Food - yoghurts were available in a day or two, soup was always the same type and only national, grilled dishes were constantly running out and they were in no hurry to cook them. There was no sparkling wine. Bottom line- Bodrum is much more interesting than the Antalya coast, but I don't want to return to the Salmakis hotel, I wouldn't recommend it to others!

We went down like 4 floors from the reception. The hotel is large, with many different rooms and as separate mini townhouses. Very beautiful, blue and white, flowering bushes and trees. Ferries entered the port and it was perfectly visible from the hotel, there were many panoramic platforms. The beach is your own, the sand, the fish swim, you walk up to your waist but then deeper. The sun beds were always free, there were no problems. Events were held by the pool, and small music and dance concerts were held in the evening. Dinner is until 21-30, which is great. There is a pier nearby and a sea minibus runs for $ 3 or 100 liras. Swim to the center in 7 minutes. Or walk from the hill to the city in 17-20 minutes. There weren't many people. By the way, there was a rope on the balcony for drying clothes and we also hung everything on the handrail. And the biggest disadvantage was the huge cockroaches. I must say right away that the kitchen is very far from us through the corridors and stairs. One of them fell from somewhere above right in the shower - we locked him in the bathroom and went to look for someone who would kill him - he was thick, dense and big. The cleaning lady saved us. They began to close the bathroom door. it is unclear where he came from because the balcony is constantly closed due to the operation of the air conditioner and it was not opened, perhaps he hid from the hood in the bathroom. Another friend was seen on the balcony and there he died from the heat, it is strange that he did not crawl up the wall into the garden (the partition was high glass). But it didn't stop us in any way. The rest was a success.

The territory is small but beautiful, the pool, the pier, the sea views are magnificent. We enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. The hotel is located on a mountain and there are many steps, but you can always use the elevators. In the evening we strolled along the sea, and also rested near the reception. In the new room, the shower worked every other time. There are no irons in the rooms, I asked twice to bring them, they promised, but they never brought them. There is a spa area with saunas and a hammam, you need to sign up in about one or two days. Cuisine: a very large selection of dishes, but it is really possible to consume 2-3. A good selection of cheeses, sometimes grilled dishes. Vegetables are tasteless. The fruit was a very tasty watermelon. There are no toothpicks. The staff is very slow, despite the large number of waiters, they did not have time to clean the tables, they had to wait.

I must say right away, I haven't been abroad for a long time, so the level of sophistication is significantly reduced. But I will try to be objective so that my review helps you make the right choice. Positive: - Beautiful view of the bay around the clock. Beautiful photos are guaranteed; - I liked that the hotel is immersed in gardens, lots of greenery - it's pleasant to the eyes and the atmosphere.; - Pretty high-quality food that can not be poisoned. But this is not gourmet cuisine. You can find everything you like: meat, fish, chicken, seafood, salads, vegetables, herbs, pickles, pastries, desserts, fruits, etc. Dishes alternate and change every day. In general, it was enough and varied for me.; - I had an Ultra All Inclusive (UAI) tariff, so ice cream, fruits, drinks, including alcohol, access to a SPA with a swimming pool, sauna, hammam at no extra charge; - For holidays with children, there is a good access to the sea: gentle and shallow. It's safe. The sea is calm. But there was either a reef or a thicket of algae in the middle of the designated area, so I had to swim along the edges of this area.; - Polite, helpful staff in the restaurant, it is clear that they are trying, but sometimes they were inattentive (perhaps from fatigue - there were a lot of guests) and had to ask for the table to be set, cutlery served, water brought; - The air conditioner was working well in my room, which was a salvation in hot weather; - For early check-in and check-out, you can use all the hotel's services using a wristband that is worn on your arm at check-in. We tried to add a local flavor, for example, in the lobby, but everything looks somehow old-fashioned, out of date and not stylish. The same thing in the room - not terrible, of course, but average. There are some huge rooms that are empty and unused. It looks strange. For the declared 5 stars, the design, decoration, and interiors do not match at all. - Some kind of total problem with the sockets. There is not a single outlet at the head of the bed in the room. Two sockets in different places with a strange arrangement logic. In the huge lobby, it was necessary to try to find an outlet: one near a small table on the periphery and another, almost fallen out, by the TV. - Either the cleaning staff was tired too, or they were exhausted - although cleaning was carried out every day, it was somehow not thorough, not efficient. They often forgot to replenish their water supplies, drinks in the mini-bar, and toiletries. I had to ask. Upon arrival at the room, I found dirty, poorly washed mugs. The halls near the rooms were also poorly cleaned. Dirty dishes with leftovers could stand for days. The Salmakis cleaners have a complete mess.; - The beach: sun beds are available, but there were always a lot of towels "booked" by someone, despite the announcement that this should not be done. The beach itself is located between the beaches of the other two hotels. And the difference in cleanliness is obvious: the neighbors were cleaned of garbage every evening almost with tweezers, every chaise longue and floorboards were washed with water, and the sand was smoothed with a rake. The beach of Salmakis is so-so in terms of cleaning quality and condition - broken deck chairs, small debris, stationary umbrellas that can neither be closed nor moved. And it seems that besides the hotel guests, the locals also visited. - For people with musculoskeletal problems, it may be difficult for the core to move around the hotel: there are many stairs with rather steep steps. Yes, there are elevators, but they do not deliver directly from one floor to another, you need to make rather long and confusing transitions between them. And one elevator didn't work stably, then it worked. When my mother was old, these movements were difficult in the heat. - If you want to walk to the harbor and the center of Bodrum, you can do it, of course, but the return on foot will be difficult - uphill at an angle of 25-35⁰. You can take a taxi - they work on the meter and are uncomfortable. I liked getting to the center of Bodrum and back to the hotel by boat the most - 150 Turkish lira per person. With a breeze, as they say. - There is nowhere to walk on the territory of the hotel. The promenade (if you can call it that) along the beaches is very short. "The kingdom is not enough - there is nowhere to roam!" ) If you want to walk, then you definitely need to go to Bodrum itself. - I'm a bit of a fan of hotel animation events, so I can say that it's pretty boring at the hotel in the evening, there's nothing to do. There are musical events, some concerts, but every evening sitting at the bar and watching it is somehow not very interesting (for my taste), => - In the evening, a musical mix of all kinds and styles rises from the territory of Salmakis and from neighboring hotels. My room was away from the concert venues, it didn't bother me much. But I think the guests from the rooms near the stage were not very comfortable. The sounds are loud and different. - Alcoholic drinks on UAI are free - drink as much as you want. But I didn't like the quality of these drinks. These are the local Turkish counterparts. It tastes like diluted with water. If you want something original, for example, real Baileys, cognac or whiskey - for a fee. - I try coffee everywhere. And the one served in the restaurant and lobby bar is disgusting. Although the coffee machines seem to be decent. This means that the coffee itself is "non-ice"; - There are no ATMs in the hotel. To withdraw money, you need to go to Bodrum (and this is a descent from the mountain and then back up the mountain) - On the plus side, I noted the presence of a garden, greenery, but it's all very neglected, it grows almost by itself, although some gardeners go and water it. But they don't seem to care much about making sure that the gardens are neat and cultivated. Pour it, and that's enough. - If you are not a cat lover, you may not like living in this hotel. There are quite a few of them on the territory of the hotel. During the day, they hide from the heat somewhere, and in the evening the whole crowd gathers at the restaurant, waiting for treats from the guests. Bottom line: Salmakis Resort & SPA is a hotel in the style of "echoes of former luxury". This is not a 5-star hotel. 4 stars and that's a big stretch. It benefits only due to its location, the surrounding nature, landscape, and sea view. Otherwise, it's an average level for an amateur. There are equally beautiful places, but for a lower price tag. The hotel has long been in need of renovation in everything: repairs, service, organization, logistics. This, of course, is not a complete ruin, but an obvious limp that can no longer be simply solved by cosmetic measures. Nevertheless, the hotel was fully loaded with guests: there are many of them, traveling with large families (mostly Turks). But here, as they say, it's a matter of taste. For me, it's always an indicator of the quality of the hotel - do I want to come back here again or not? I'll probably look for other options next time. They definitely are. However, thanks to Salmakis for the tan and pleasant impressions of the sea. The goal of my beach vacation has been achieved.

They clean the pool area outside every other day, and as a rule they start doing it when people are already on the sun beds))) The rooms are cleaned abominably, linen is changed once a week. From the hotel, the center of Bodrum can be reached in about 7 minutes by boat-taxi, 150 liras per person. The pier is a 3-minute walk along the beach, boats every 20-30 minutes until almost 23 (you can call if anything, the contact number is on the sign)

It was just a thrash trip. We flew from Moscow, via Bodrum to the UK. We stayed for 4 nights in Salamakis Bodrum. The hotel is only good for its location, as there is a boat shuttle service to the center of Bodrum. 10 minutes and you're in the center. I paid for the hotel through Online booking. I didn't pay cash. I had a lot of money with me, a couple of wads of bucks. I knew after reading the reviews that the hotel was being stolen. Therefore, I put the money in baby food in a Samsonite suitcase. Anyone who knows what kind of fasteners are there understands what's what. On the first day I came from the sea, I saw a decent hole in the end of the suitcase, apparently a camera was inserted, but there were a lot of things, clothes and money in a package with baby food. The next day, we took both packs in a bag to the beach and took turns swimming. When we got to the room, we couldn't open the safe. And why? Because it was opened with a master key and closed back with a random combination. I only had my passports in the safe, so I wasn't even nervous. And so they grazed us for four days, they grazed us specifically. In the end, I left the suitcase open. I just didn't care and went to the beach with two packs of bucks.
