One of the largest Orthodox churches in the world (slightly smaller than the Cathedral of Christ the Savior) in the center of Belgrade. The temple was built... for 110 years (from 1894 to 2004).
The height of the temple is about 90 m. The cathedral really impresses with its grandeur and scale. If the area occupied by the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow is 60 by 60 meters, then the size of the Serbian temple is 91 by 81 meters! The Church of St. Sava stands on the spot where the Ottoman Turks, who enslaved Serbian lands a thousand years ago, barbarously burned the relics of the greatest saint and the first archbishop of Serbia.
