Khan Shatyr is one of the most iconic landmarks in Astana, and visiting it is always an interesting experience. The architecture alone makes it worth a stop — the massive transparent tent structure is impressive both inside and out, especially in the evening when it’s beautifully illuminated. Inside, Khan Shatyr is a combination of shopping mall, entertainment center, and leisure space. You’ll find a wide range of shops, from international brands to local boutiques, along with plenty of cafés and restaurants for every taste. It’s very convenient for families, thanks to the children’s play zones and various attractions. One of the unique features is the indoor “beach” on the top floor, which feels surreal in the middle of Kazakhstan’s climate. Even if you don’t swim, it’s interesting to see. The only downside is that it can get crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. Parking is sometimes challenging, and some people may find that the dining options are slightly more expensive than average. Overall, Khan Shatyr is a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Astana — not just for shopping, but to experience one of the city’s most recognizable and innovative buildings.

One of the main symbols of Astana! 🏙 The dome looks impressive both outside and inside — especially in the evening when it’s beautifully lit up. Inside, there’s a huge shopping mall with stores, cafés, and entertainment for every taste. On the upper floors, you’ll even find a beach with a pool, which is quite surprising for the capital. A great place for a walk, shopping, or just a cozy time out.

Very good place to visit especially for shopaholics. Good range of choices and really liberal prices. Although it has good location to just walk around

I liked the place. Reasonable variety of goods. Even bought here some clothes. A bit overpriced as it is common for central stores. There is a supermarket there with a good food choice and there are cafes and restaurants.

They have in-house doctor on standby if god forbid you suddenly fall ill or had an accident on-site. An iconic place where every tourist should visit.

Khan Shatyr Shopping Center, Astana. Rating: 5 for Bedouin luxury with a touch of Kazakhstani futurism. Imagine: in the center of ultramodern Astana, the nomads of the 21st century erected a giant tent and said: "There will be trade here!!". It turned out to be Khan Shatyr, a place where an oriental fairy tale greets capitalism with a smile. Architecture is the whisper of the steppes, embodied in glass and concrete. The tent is so high that it looks like its top has been stolen from the clouds. It's spacious and bright inside, and I can't even believe it could be -40°C outside. The climate control works as if it were set up by the spirits of the Great Steppe themselves. There are shops for every taste: from Kazakhstani brands that are proudly called "national heritage" to global giants whose prices make you think.: "Why don't I sell the yurt?!" The choice is really good, if, of course, your budget can survive the meeting with boutiques. The highlight is the beach on the top floor. Yes, yes, sand, palm trees, waves.. in the tent. There is a complete feeling that you are somewhere between Shymkent and Bali, and only the stern faces of the guards remind you: "Friend, you are still in Kazakhstan!!". — Prices. Sometimes it seems that you will have to pay for the air here too. But it's so fresh, almost like in the steppe!! — Crowds. There's nowhere to fall on weekends. You wade through families with strollers, teenagers with selfie sticks, and tourists looking for a way out, like Lara Croft artifacts. — Escalators. There are so many of them that you can go up to the seventh floor and casually discuss the prices of mutton with a neighbor. Khan Shatyr is not just a shopping mall. It is a symbol of Astana: a mixture of tradition, ambition and love for everything grandiose. If you want to buy everything from Kazakh honey to a designer handbag, go here. Just don't forget: wave goodbye to the tent as you leave. He deserves it. P.S. Tip: Find an observation deck. The view of the city will justify all the money spent. Well, or at least it will distract from the realization that you have bought another magnet "Astana — the heart of Eurasia".

Khan Shatyr is a truly unique place in Astana! The huge shopping and entertainment center, made in an unusual tent shape, impresses at first glance. Inside there is space, cleanliness and modern design. You can find everything here: from famous brands and cozy cafes to cinemas and recreation areas. I especially like the beach with real sand and warm water — a real exotic in the city center. A great place for both shopping and family holidays. I definitely recommend a visit!

Khan Shatyr is not just a shopping mall, but a real architectural landmark of Astana. I was impressed by both the futuristic exterior and the spacious, light-filled interior. There is everything for the whole family inside: a good selection of shops, a variety of food options in the food court and great entertainment for children. Be sure to go up to the top floor to see mini-dioramas of cities and take a ride on the monorail. I definitely recommend you to visit to feel the modern pulse of the capital!"

Khan Shatyr is a unique place that surprises every time with its architecture and thoughtful space, creating a feeling of comfort and lightness right from the first step inside. The shopping complex is built with high quality and style, the interior is always clean, comfortable and pleasant to be in, and the navigation is designed so that it is easy to navigate even with a large influx of people. There is everything here: numerous shops, cozy cafes, recreation areas, as well as entertainment, so everyone can find something suitable for themselves. The convenient location is especially pleasing — thanks to the central location, it is easy to get to Khan Shatyr both by car and by public transport. In general, this place leaves only positive emotions and is always associated with a good mood and a pleasant time.

Every time we arrive, we always go to Khan Shatyr. All the shops are in one place, which is very convenient, you do not need to search all over the city, you can walk to Bayterek, the proximity and a very beautiful view. We went to the cinema more than once, there are many different cafes on the food court, for every taste, at one of the entrances, the most delicious Italian ice cream from Bombino.

Nice shopping mall! There are a lot of branded shops, there is a place to eat, there is some entertainment on the upper floors, a cinema. The shopping center itself has shops "in a circle", an open space in the center

In September 2025, I visited the Khan Shatyr Shopping and Entertainment center in Astana, and my impressions were generally positive. I'm sharing the details. First impression The building immediately impresses with its unusual architecture: the shape of the tent with a tall spire looks spectacular and modern. It's large—scale outside, spacious and bright inside. It feels like you are not in an ordinary shopping mall, but in some kind of futuristic space. Shopping Khan Shatyr offers a wide range of stores, from mass market to premium brands. There are many well—known brands on the first and second floors (ZARA, Mango, Adidas, TommyHilfiger, etc.). Prices are at the level of metropolitan shopping centers, but there are periodic sales. There were several interesting positions for me, although the whole range seemed standard. Entertainment and recreation On the fourth floor there is a children's entertainment complex with attractions, a dinopark and a "fear room". The kids are thrilled! There used to be a SkyBeachClub beach club on the fifth floor (with a pool and palm trees), but at the time of my visit it was closed for renovation. There is a Chaplin cinema and several cafes on different floors. Infrastructure Clean, well-maintained interior, comfortable recreation areas. The staff is polite and always ready to help with navigation. There is a Magnum supermarket on the ground floor — convenient for quick purchases. Parking is spacious, but it can be busy on weekends. Minuses It is difficult to find an empty table in the food court during rush hours. Some activities (such as the swimming pool) are temporarily unavailable. Cafe prices are above average, especially for fast food. Result Khan Shatyr is not just a shopping mall, but a full—fledged entertainment complex. Here you can: Spend the day with your family (children are busy, adults are shopping); Meet up with friends at a cafe; just take a walk and admire the architecture. I recommend you to visit, especially if you are in Astana for the first time. But it is better to plan a visit on weekdays to avoid crowds and queues.
