Kalon Mosque is one of the most breathtaking historical sites in Bukhara. Built in 1514 this grand mosque reflects the beauty of Islamic architecture and the rich spiritual heritage of Central Asia The courtyard is peaceful the design is stunning and the atmosphere feels deeply spiritual. A must-visit place if you are in Bukhara. Highly recommended

Be sure to come after sunset, sit on the steps of the ancient city and enjoy the spirit of ancient Bukhara. It is an amazing place and the tower is the only one that survived after the invasion of Genghis Khan. There are a lot of people, merchants, souvenir shops, but this does not spoil the atmosphere at all. I recommend 😇

The minaret of the Kalyan Mosque is the highest part of the Poi-Kalyan architectural ensemble. A chic ensemble is a must-see. Pleasant lighting works here in the evening.

Impressive! Recommended to visit. Built in 1127, 46.5 m high. After many conquests, the minaret survived. If you go around the minaret, you can see the destruction after the guns. It has been almost 9 centuries old and has never been razed to the ground. First of all, it is a religious landmark. In different periods, it also served as a lighthouse for travelers, a lookout and a tower of death for executions.

The Kalyan Minaret is a symbol of Bukhara and one of the most magnificent buildings in Central Asia. Built in 1127 under the rule of the Karakhanids, it served not only as a minaret for the call to prayer, but also as a lighthouse for caravans, and even as a watchtower. The height of the Kalyan is almost 47 meters, and its patterned brickwork impresses with precision and harmony. Since then, the minaret has stood firm, having survived wars, earthquakes and the change of epochs — as the eternal guardian of the spirit of ancient Bukhara.

It's a great place. The tower looks very impressive. The tallest building in the old town. I recommend visiting in the afternoon and evening when the backlight is on.

One of the main symbols of Bukhara, the ancient minaret, from which in ancient times it was called to prayer, is obligatory to visit and inspect.

It's a very beautiful minaret. It is richly decorated with carvings. In the evening, with the lights on, it looks very beautiful. There are a lot of photographers on the square in front of the minaret, offering themed photo shoots. I recommend you to visit.

The beautiful slender minaret creates a unique atmosphere of the square. Her face. Previously, it was possible for tourists to climb it and look at the city from a height. But due to the fact that many older European tourists come to Bukhara, they felt sick when climbing, and it was problematic to send doctors/rescuers to them because of the crowding. Therefore, now you can admire the minaret from the square. The evening lighting is wonderful.

It is a very beautiful monumental structure. This minaret is considered a symbol of Bukhara. At the foot of the Kalyan Minaret are located the Miri Arab Madrasah and the Kalyan Mosque, which together form an architectural ensemble. Many legends are associated with the tallest minaret in Central Asia, the Kalyan Minaret in Bukhara. The Kalyan Minaret is a large Tower, but it has another name – the Tower of Death, as people condemned by the khan used to be thrown from it. Many legends are connected with the girls who were executed on the orders of the khan.

One of the main, if not the main symbol of Bukhara. The 12th century is not spoiled by restoration. It's worth watching.

It is a very beautiful monumental structure. This minaret is considered a symbol of Bukhara. At the foot of the Kalyan minaret are located the Miri Arab Madrasah and the Kalyan Mosque, which together form an architectural ensemble. Next to the minaret is the kunzhak women's hammam, an architectural monument of the 16th century, which is under state protection. This hammam is still in operation. Going inside, you are instantly transported to an oriental fairy tale, you feel the spirit of that century!

One of the main attractions of Bukhara. The monument is majestic and decorated with different masonry levels. The tallest minaret in Bukhara. According to legend, Tamerlane "took off his hat" in front of him, when he looked up, the hat fell off his head. Although maybe this is an invented legend.

It's a very beautiful place. The minaret is one of the symbols of Bukhara. It is part of the Poi-Kalon ensemble. It is best to explore during sunset. The Ark Citadel is 200 meters away. In general, almost all the sights of Bukhara are located in one place. You can watch absolutely everything in 3 hours.

The minaret is certainly impressive. When you see it, you understand the same Genghis Khan who said that this building is worthy of worship. It's not for nothing that they call him Kalyan, which means great in Persian. And not only for its height, but also for its amazing architecture.

The minaret is a universal landmark of the historical center of the city, viewed from different places and from different angles. At times, you might think he's like a leaning tower, but that's a mistake. In fact, the building is sturdy and in excellent condition. In the evening, Kalyan and the surrounding buildings are beautifully illuminated.

The Kalyan Minaret is a real miracle of medieval architecture! Its majestic height, almost 46 meters, is amazing. When you stand at the foot, you feel the full scale and power of this grandiose structure. Impressive is not only the size, but also the elegance of the brickwork, preserved through the centuries. Kalyan is not just a tower, but a symbol of Bukhara, filled with history and culture. A must-visit!

One of the business cards of ancient Bukhara! The legendary architectural ensemble, consisting of various structures, but looks as if its construction was planned at the same time. Clear architectural lines, correct proportions of the entrance group of the mosque and madrasah, a slender majestic minaret with the richest decor.

Almost 1000 years of history. Beauty, scale, grandeur, and we are like a grain of sand in this abyss of time. A bright and joyful place, it's worth discussing the meaning of life after visiting the sights on the terrace opposite - beautiful views of the roofs of the old town are provided.

An impressive structure. It's all lacy, like it's knitted. The age is impressive - 900 years old. A beautiful legend about Genghis Khan, who had to take off his hat in front of this minaret. The whole complex is beautiful, with a madrasah. The coolest place in Bukhara. On the way, you can go to a cool tea shop in the alleys and try different types of tea with spices. And then go up to the observation deck of the fortress. And from there, take beautiful photos with this minaret.

A magnificent structure. A good view of the minaret from the second floor from the tea house opposite. Access to the minaret's observation deck is closed, and that's right. A very beautiful substructure.

The minaret, in an elegant openwork design made of yellow brick traditional for Central Asia, is one of the oldest buildings in Bukhara, its construction was completed in 1127, and the tallest, with a height of 46.5 meters and a diameter of 9.7 meters at the base. In addition, it is one of the architectural monuments of the pre-Mongol era, of which there are not so many left in the whole of Central Asia. Ornaments made of bricks form 12 non—repeating belts on the Kalyan minaret, there are inscriptions on a religious theme, and somewhere between them, according to our guide, is the name of the architect who gave us this beauty. His name was Bako. The first minaret, built on the same site, did not stand for very long, but collapsed, apparently because due to the haste allowed during its construction, the technological deadlines for, for example, setting mortar were not met. The main builder, as usual, was executed. The new architect turned out to be kinder. There is a legend that Bako regularly disappeared for a while during the construction of the tower, for example, he disappeared for a long time after the foundation for the building was laid. When the master showed up two years later, as if nothing had happened, he calmly replied to the customer's angry question about where he had been all this time that if he had stayed in Bukhara, he would have been in a hurry, just like his predecessor, and he really did not want to give up his life. Legends are always interesting to listen to, but this time, the rapidly descending night and amazing lighting added a little mystery and romanticism to it. By the way, the lantern in the rotunda at the top of the minaret shone in ancient times, lights were lit there at night, and travelers going to Bukhara could navigate by it, like navigators by a lighthouse.
