Ornaments made of bricks form 12 non—repeating belts on the Kalyan minaret, there are inscriptions on a religious theme, and somewhere between them, according to our guide, is the name of the architect who gave us this beauty. His name was Bako. The first minaret, built on the same site, did not stand for very long, but collapsed, apparently because due to the haste allowed during its construction, the technological deadlines for, for example, setting mortar were not met. The main builder, as usual, was executed. The new architect turned out to be kinder. There is a legend that Bako regularly disappeared for a while during the construction of the tower, for example, he disappeared for a long time after the foundation for the building was laid. When the master showed up two years later, as if nothing had happened, he calmly replied to the customer's angry question about where he had been all this time that if he had stayed in Bukhara, he would have been in a hurry, just like his predecessor, and he really did not want to give up his life. Legends are always interesting to listen to, but this time, the rapidly descending night and amazing lighting added a little mystery and romanticism to it. By the way, the lantern in the rotunda at the top of the minaret shone in ancient times, lights were lit there at night, and travelers going to Bukhara could navigate by it, like navigators by a lighthouse.
