The place is cozy and clean and reasonably priced especially for a restaurant calling itself fine dining. The food is just average, nothing special. But the real issue was the owner, who appeared to be drunk. All occupied tables asked him to give them some space?! But he just kept repeating some drunk questions. It was weird and honestly quite annoying, though somewhat funny if you know how to handle pushy people. Overall, not the experience you'd expect from a proper fine dining spot

Great place with fusion cuisine. Menu in the form of regularly updated sets. Very hearty atmosphere, interesting and cosy interior. The choice of wine was impressive, clearly they understand it here. It is better to book a table in advance.

Sooooo delicious, atmospheric, unusual. The quality of the food and products is beyond praise. Salmon, pate, duck, homemade ice cream, drunk pear, it's a delight. Gorgeous wine, a huge selection. Very attentive waiter. The chef and part-time owner is suitable for all guests. You really feel like a dear guest, the sign is invisible from the street, the place is safe. I recommend it wholeheartedly. I'll definitely be back.

If you want to take a break from hashlama, dolma and other local delicacies and sit in a quiet and cozy place with good wine and good European cuisine, you are welcome here. It seems that this is the only restaurant in Yerevan that operates with a set menu. The dishes, the service, the interior were excellent. We really enjoyed our time here. I sincerely recommend you to visit.

An interesting place with a taste for haute cuisine with an Armenian flavor. I was surprised that the restaurant was almost empty, but this does not negate the quality of the cuisine. The tarragon ice cream was unexpectedly surprising, but definitely worth a try. It wasn't very obvious for us to find the entrance to the restaurant, we went around the house, couldn't find it, realized it was a quest, and until I went online and found a photo of the entrance, we were already lost in guesses. But you don't expect a restaurant from the top 10 of the capital's rating to be in the basement. Communication left a pleasant impression.

This is the second time my husband and I have been to this restaurant, and for the second time we are convinced that we adore this place! Exquisite cuisine, incredibly delicious dishes, good alcohol, and what homemade tinctures from chef Alexander himself are worth! One of the unusual things about this restaurant is that the chef often comes out to the guests, asks if they like all the dishes, and tells them about the dishes. In general, he can support any topic of conversation, or he may not support it if you don't want to. The set consists of 5 courses. Appetizer, soup, pasta, main course and of course dessert. From each section you will have to choose from 5 variations of the dish. The sets change periodically. P.S. tarragon ice cream is something incredible! I advise everyone to try it!

A magnificent restaurant of the author's fine cuisine from chef Sasha. I've heard a lot about him from several friends, and recently we visited together with a friend, celebrating his birthday there. All guests are invited to choose five dishes from the set menu: appetizer, soup, pasta, second course and dessert. Each item is represented by 3-4 versions of original designs made from fresh local products. Chef Sasha is happy to tell, suggest and advise what is better to try, which wine to wash down — the restaurant has a very decent collection of Armenian wine. At the end of the meal, Sasha treated me to a digestif, a local port wine. The price per set is quite consistent with the level of the institution, in my native Krasnoyarsk it would be even more expensive. I highly recommend that all lovers of gastronomy visit Barev Arev, set aside at least three hours to fully enjoy the cuisine, wine and atmosphere.

A great place with delicious cuisine, homely atmosphere and perfect service. We happened to come to a wine tasting. Each wine has its own dish, which goes well with it and complements each other. It turned out to be a very tasty and interesting experience. The place itself is not big, there are not many people, there is an opportunity to chat with the chef. We plan to come and try the usual menu and taste different wines, of which there is quite a large selection.

An interesting and unusual place. We were a 2-family company. Food... very mixed feelings. The fish they ordered was simply burnt. Strange. We were the only table in the place. How to "oversleep" a fish. They didn't hesitate to serve it, of course it was nice. I liked Spas, as I'm probably a fan of cold soups. Ice cream with horseradish - I didn't understand where the horseradish was. The kitchen seems to be pretentious, but the execution is crooked. As if the cook doesn't have enough experience. I will not rate those who put Michelin stars here - this is far from the case. I was bribed by communication with Alexander: he is a very open and sweet person. Thank him for the wine. The wives liked it very much. Good cognac. For this, I added a star: instead of 3, I put 4. Go for 1 time. Anyway, thank you for your hospitality to Alexander! Often, the atmosphere of communication in which he participated is much more valuable than food. Snorkel!

It's a great place. I liked everything. You feel at home, while the food level is Michelin. 1. Food. She's great. We took 2 different sets. Of the 5 positions, only 2 were just good (pate and truffles) - the rest is beyond praise. 2. Wine. The host offered excellent wine. It has been a long time since we persuaded a bottle for 2 in the evening. But everything was very harmonious here. 3. The atmosphere. It is not crowded and the owner can pay all the attention. A very hospitable Armenian. My wife had a doctor's guess with some of her favorite flowers as a gift. For the price: 60k local people came out for dinner with tips. For such a level, the price is very reasonable. I recommend it to everyone, if the budget allows. We enjoyed it immensely and will definitely come back on our next visit to Yerevan.

I would like to especially mention: - a short menu with the ability to order individual items, but if there are more than 3 dishes, then the set is more profitable; - a chamber atmosphere inside, we were lucky to have the chef himself working with us. Everything is great in this place, except for the pricing policy. The five-course set for 18,000 drams seemed too big to me, so I decided to order pasta - it is listed as one of the items on the set menu and costs a more or less adequate 4,400. But the waiter said it was a microscopic portion of a set. I didn't understand why then it should be included in the menu as a separate item with a separate price. Which, by the way, exceeds the upper limit of the price for a normal-sized portion of pasta in Yerevan. We left the establishment. By the way, we went into it on Friday evening, and it was completely empty.

I don't understand the rave reviews. Complete disappointment. We went there on Saturday evening, sat for 2 hours, there was no one else. The food is delicious in some places, not in others. The service is terrible. At the end of dinner, a cook in a dirty apron came out to us, who had previously been talking very loudly on the phone in the kitchen. When the bill arrived, they did not accept it with a card, they said that the terminal was not working, they said that we could withdraw money from an ATM. After we said that we would not be able to withdraw money, their terminal started working.

Being a flight in Yerevan, I couldn't help but visit this famous institution. It so happened that on that Sunday evening, only the boss (named Sasha, who reminded me of Vakhtang Kikabidze, my childhood love) and his assistant were available. Therefore, Sasha was "one for all", tried to keep up with serving all visitors and compensate for delays in serving dishes, entertaining guests with small talk and wine tastings. However, I did not notice any delays, because we took the time between serves with an impromptu excursion to the wine room and other interesting places. Now about the kitchen. For an appetizer, I chose a fish mosaic, which arrived in the form of a piece of a triangular roll made of something fishy. It was very tender, I can't say now what exactly was there, but it was delicious – absolutely. I also tried the liver pate, and it was wonderfully delicious. I have long dreamed of trying hot matzoni soup, as I have heard (generally) contradictory reviews about it, rarely anyone likes it. I do not know what it is in the traditional version, but in the author's version of Alexander it was great, I liked it! Rating "5" out of "5"))) The final chord was mascarpone and mustard ice cream: as a lover of exotics and culinary experiments, I gave him my heart and dream of reproducing it at home! Anyone who will be in Yerevan and wants something non-trivial, made with soul and imagination, is here for you! Thanks again to Sasha and the owners of the establishment!

It's worth flying to Yerevan for this! We decided to celebrate our family holiday in Barev Arev and were very satisfied. Delicious, cozy, sincere and without pathos. Thank you to the entire staff of the restaurant for our wonderful evening! A little bit about the place. Entrance from Khanjyan Street, descent to the basement. A five-course set is enough for one person to have dinner. The set costs 15,000 drams (3750 rubles for today). It is more profitable to take a set at once - 4 dishes separately are already more expensive than the whole set :) The wine is only Armenian, but there are literally a hundred kinds of it, the chef helped us choose several bottles for our dishes (we drank Oshin and Noah).

I have no idea why the restaurant has high reviews. I went to the top place, but I got below all standards. The food ranges from frankly not tasty, (for example, terribly fatty lasagna with grass), to quite ordinary, like duck. Dessert was served for 40 minutes. I regretted that I didn't leave without him-he's just no good. Okay, the appetizer was fun to taste and serve. But everything else wasn't worth going there at all. The service is so-so. You come and wait for someone to come up to you, because there is no one in the hall. The waiters are dressed haphazardly, they communicate strangely. For example, in the end, he was outraged that we did not study the bill before paying. Of the alcohol-free drinks, only water and tea/coffee. No lemonades, juices, etc. There seem to be a lot of different wines, but I didn't drink that evening. It is not necessary to bury, there are few people and almost empty halls. Which is not surprising. I do not recommend this place

The staff did not hear our wishes and preferences at all, we ate almost nothing. Small portions, a 5-course set for 18,000 drams. 🍵 I chose either quince or pumpkin soup, I was persistently offered pepper and tomatoes with Feta cheese, I said that Feta is salty and tomato will probably be sour, I would not like this, but I was run away that this is an immortal masterpiece of this restaurant and the cheese is not salty AT ALL! I asked what the taste would be, they told me it was amazing, cheesy taste and baked bell peppers. In the end, I gave up and trusted this lovely woman. As a result: Feta cheese is very salty, the soup is sour and spicy! I don't eat spicy food, it wasn't even mentioned. My friend didn't eat it either, he was also in pain. The duck was completely raw, and I was assured that this is how it should be, that the duck is not cooked any other way!! And we were not warned or even asked what kind of roasting we want. The meat was sticky, it didn't chew, and I didn't want to chew it, I don't eat raw meat and I don't even eat Medium. The owner looked at us in surprise and continued to prove that the duck is not cooked in any other way, but it's like I live on another planet and have never eaten a duck, I don't like when they put so much pressure on me, and I have to justify myself for not liking the food that I didn't expect to get. It's not a pleasant feeling. And yes, I know how to cook duck in a different way, and many in Russia also know what baked duck is, we often cook it for the new year, and it is not raw. We nicknamed this dish "the duck that quacks" . No one was embarrassed that we were returning the dishes one by one. Pasta is a tiny portion of pasta with pesto sauce and some very salty Armenian cheeses on top. That's it! The only thing I enjoyed was the delicious orange wine., The dessert is a drunken pear, which, by the way, I was also dissuaded from for some reason, although I ordered it in the first place, I really like this and I had to win it back. They "sold" horseradish ice cream to me, I said that I don't eat horseradish and I can't even stand the smell!, and you know what??? As a snack, We ordered bruschetta (sandwiches) with salmon and these loaves, on which the fish was lying, were smeared with HORSERADISH. Well, it's absurd! It was just funny to us at first, and then it hurt. Why is an institution of this level, and there is no service and basic attention to guests?. Although it was only in relation to us. A large company was sitting next to us and they were friends and acquaintances of the owner and they were recommended dishes that tasted better, explained how they were cooked and all the details of which we did not receive, but were not even heard. But these guys ordered after us, we had already eaten dessert by that time. 🤍 Now the interior and atmosphere. The interior design is perfect, I went in and said "Wow", everything is thought out to the smallest detail: style, lighting, paintings by one artist that preserve and complement the style of the restaurant, masterpiece works, I immediately recognized Cond in the paintings, he is very recognizable, picturesque and colorful and depicted so delicious, you can't take your eyes off. The lamps are right under the paintings, they illuminate them from below and the warm yellow light is reflected on the brushstrokes of the painting and they shine and shimmer, it literally enlivens the image😍 The artist who painted the paintings and the designer of this institution, you are geniuses! The atmosphere is like in an expensive banquet hall, in a castle. But the first owner did it all, and now the restaurant belongs to another person, I understand that he is the cook, I believe that there are delicious dishes there, but the whole problem is that they did not hear us and did not take into account our wishes, and this is the most important thing! My friend brought me there because after the first hike (with the first owner) he was so delighted that he wanted me to go there too. And by the way, he writes gastronomic articles and he is often invited to expensive establishments with author's cuisine and he was so confident in this institution, but alas .... As a result, we drank a bottle of delicious wine, I recommend everyone to try orange wine, wherever you are. Oh yes, because they forgot to bring me tea, as compensation, I received a second pear for free))) When we left, the owner finally told us to come hungry next time. It was another strange saying, as if if I were very hungry, I would eat both spicy and raw in silence. It's not pretty
