in an architectural monument with a rich history, it is worth visiting. But because it is located inside the old city, the roads were inconvenient, but now it is being renovated, I think the tourists will like it.

One of the oldest monumental building of Bukhara, there is nothing inside, just shops with antique things, but outside look is amazing.

There is a bazaar inside, you can't commodify everything, so buckhara has lost its spiritual essence and can be reproduced in any city in the world, perhaps even better at this point if it is just an attraction.

The beauty is incredible!!! The most unusual Madrasah in Uzbekistan! There is nothing even close to it!!! Four different minarets in honor of the wives of the ancient prince look great after the restoration! Try to get from the inside (for a nominal fee) to the roof of this building, there are wonderful views from there! On the same square there is an extensive antique shop with an interesting set of artifacts from the Soviet past.

Interesting, especially for lovers of beautiful photos. Lots of interesting angles. There's a pay toilet and a souvenir shop with a nasty saleswoman nearby. If you look in, you'll immediately understand. The landmark is literally buried in the maze of narrow streets of Bukhara. Yandex.Maps to help

An ancient monument of medieval architecture, not a standard madrasah, differs from all the others, it looks more like a fortress or castle, the lighting works at night.

The architectural monument Chor Minor (four towers) was built in 1807. The original portal of the large madrasah complex is the only one that has survived to this day. Each tower has an original design. Storks have been nesting on the minarets for a long time, now a sculpture on one of the towers reminds of this. In 1995, one tower was destroyed and restored under the auspices of UNESCO. A pleasant young man prepares delicious coffee nearby. You can walk to the madrasah on foot, from the Lyabi Hauz square 10-15 minutes by walking along narrow original streets.

A small mosque of very unusual architecture was closed at the time of the trip (March 2026), although they say that you can climb to the roof and take a closer look at the minarets. There's a very unusual antiques store across the street, and you can spend an hour looking at badges, medals, dishes, and paintings.

One of the places in Bukhara that is worth exploring not only from the outside, but also from the inside. An entrance ticket is acceptable, and you can purchase it at one of the shops located on the ground floor. From the inside, you can see the ascetic rooms where students of the madrasah used to study, and on the upper tier, you can explore interesting minarets and surroundings, surrounded by typical quarters of Bukhara.

Our morning started with a walk from the hotel in the old town — the air was fresh, and the narrow streets were still quiet and deserted. On the way to Chor Minoru was hospitably invited to morning tea by a local shoemaker — he was sitting at his workshop and waved his hand: "Come in, have a rest!". We politely declined — we wanted to see the famous architectural gem as soon as possible. Choir Minor greeted us with its unusual architecture and a special atmosphere of antiquity. We toured the complex, walked around the area, and looked into an interesting antique souvenir shop. From there, we headed to Ulugbek Madrasah, winding through the winding streets of the old city. And then there's a new character: a little gray—haired old man with kind eyes, who also started inviting us somewhere. This time we decided to trust chance and went after him. He led us to the hundred-year-old ruins of the former judge's house. Among the debris and dust, an unexpected artifact was waiting for us — a cracked portrait of Stalin, as if frozen in time. Old belongings were scattered around: darkened chests, pieces of furniture, some papers… We looked at all this with curiosity, imagining what life was like here many years ago. When we were about to leave, the old man modestly asked for some money. Of course, we gave it to him, although at first we thought that he had just shown us this place from the bottom of his heart. Oh, naive travelers! 😊 This unplanned turn made our walk even brighter and gave us the feeling of a real adventure. Thank you to Bukhara for such surprises! I recommend it: if you will be at the Choir Minora, take your time — let the city tell you its story. Perhaps you will find your own little find!

Nice place, near the flea market. I liked it both day and night. An electric tour car is coming here too. But it's more interesting on foot. There are the same retail outlets inside.

A small, but original and even cute (probably thanks to the storks) structure, hidden in the depths of the mahallas near the Lyabi House. There is a small garden around, rare for Bukhara. There is a small souvenir market nearby. I highly recommend visiting if you are not afraid to get lost ;)

It was from this place that our acquaintance with Bukhara began, which, as it turned out, became, in our unanimous opinion, the sweetest and most pleasant city in Uzbekistan. But then everything was still new. A very compact, atmospheric and modest madrasah, hidden between the streets of the old city. Nearby there is a shop with thousands of antique items and a cafe. If you like something, bargain and buy here right away - it's not a fact that you'll find something similar again later. The photo shows this place as we will remember it forever.

We went for a walk from the hotel wherever our eyes look, and after a while, winding through the narrow streets, we came to this location. Hundreds of people have already written about the architectural features, inside and out. :) But next to this madrasah there is a very lamp shop of Soviet antiques. That's where I cried a couple of times on a bust of F.E.Dzerzhinsky or a model of a Zaporozhets car. I definitely recommend you to visit!!

Chor Minor is the entrance to the lost madrasah. The portal is unusual, and that's why it's interesting. Quite late, early 19th century. It's off the main trail, but it's worth turning off.

The madrasah is very interesting for its architecture. Its outlines are found on many plates and postcards both in Bukhara and throughout Uzbekistan. The madrasah is located a little away from the main street inside the city's housing stock, but it is definitely worth walking to it. The madrasa is not big at all, I would even say small. But its four minarets make it a gem of architecture. The minarets rise exactly at the four corners of the madrasah and the height of the minarets is about twice as high as the building itself. This makes them seem monumental. There is a nest with storks on one of the minarets, as a reminder that they settled here in ancient times. Very cool. The building is beautifully illuminated by night lighting and it is worth seeing it not only during the day but also in the evening. I definitely recommend not to miss this location.

Chor Minor is located a little away from the tourist movement itself, which is why I liked the place, the tranquility, no fuss around, but the most pleasant thing turned out to be a large flea market opposite, which completely immersed me in childhood memories at the sight of many things that memory had already kind of forgotten. It's a great place.

An unusual mosque, some call it a stool, but it is interesting because each of its minarets is different. It was closed in March, and the territory was being built nearby. That's why we only looked at it from the outside. Opposite there is a shop selling antiques from the Soviet era. There is an interesting little thing.

A small building, part of a 19th-century mosque, is located in the center of the old town, just away from the main attractions. Admission is free. According to legend, storks loved to nest there, and people go there to sit in silence in the courtyard, to dream. There is no rapid flow of tourists there- all the more valuable is the time spent there.

The building of the madrasah is located a little away from the main attractions of Bukhara-but it is worth taking the time to explore it. Non-standard architecture, beautiful shapes. The sculptures of storks on one of the towers look cute. Nearby there are shops with interesting souvenirs, including those that evoke nostalgia (Soviet times). The walking path leads through narrow courtyards, immersing in the atmosphere of a medieval city, as if from a fairy tale about Aladdin

I love Bukhara very much. Chor Minor is the quietest place. Tourists go, of course, but not so much. In C Minor, I would say an "intimate" location. Calm, peaceful, small. It's nice to sit in the cool, listen to birdsong, and immerse yourself in the past. The bonus is a store next to various souvenirs from the Soviet past. Some remind of childhood, some of perestroika.. There was a time... there is a museum inside and for a fee they are allowed to climb to the roof. View of the old town. But it's better to take photos from below.

It was built in 1807 on the initiative of the wealthy merchant Khalifa Niyazkul beg. The four minarets that make up the structure symbolize the four cardinal directions. The madrasa was a higher educational institution, had a rich library and was one of the Sufi centers of Bukhara. It functioned before the establishment of Soviet power. Later, the hujras of the madrasah were used for housing.

This is an interesting historical landmark, which, as a native of these places, does not surprise me much, but for tourists visiting it for the first time, it will definitely become a vivid impression. Chor Minor attracts with its unique architectural style — four minarets, each of which differs in its design, create a unique look. This place takes you back to the past, allowing you to feel the spirit of history and culture. If this is your first time in Bukhara or you just love historical sites, Chor Minor is worth a visit. This is a great place to take photos and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the old town.

On June 22 and 23, 2024, I visited this place, it is located on the sidelines, it was the last place of our excursion, it is authentic, it is interesting to listen to how history changed its appearance. I returned here on the second day, sat in the shade on a bench, very beneficial, quiet, calm. Recommend. There's nothing to see inside, there's a store, just outside.
