In my case, at this airport, earlier, I was chosen among the passengers who had just arrived at the airport, before receiving my luggage -an airport employee directed me, pointing me with his hand to another queue of several passengers waiting in line for a retinal scan. At the travel agency, I paid for a meeting service before the car, so I thought it was a vip queue))) This came as a surprise to me, and when I saw a table where men in national dress were sitting and offered some tourists to lift their upper eyelid and lower their lower eyelid.- I wanted to leave.To my usual slight grin of indignation at the stretching of the eyelids with two hands during the retinal scanning process, the reaction of male airport workers was, to put it mildly, not neutral. It turns out that one of them regarded my reaction to the unexpected procedure as disrespectful and began to call the police - to which my service attendant talked to him about something in a language unfamiliar to me and translated to me that I had no options to refuse the scanning procedure and was voluntarily and forcibly conducted retinal scan.

I recommend Trying the Asian one - it's quite good. clean, the food is cheap enough. The waiting area in front of the plane is small, but comfortable, there are toilets everywhere, salty rooms for Muslims, minus- not very clean, but I think this is not a miscalculation of the hosts, but the attitude of the guests ...🙈🙈🙈 .

Of the minuses: a large Duty Free and a food court are located BEFORE the inspection area of personal belongings.
If you pass it now, then inside, at the gates, there are only a couple of mini-dutiks on 2 shelves and two coffee shops. All 🤷♀️
Therefore, try to buy / sit before passing the inspection and going to the gates.

Next, a metal detector and an X-ray of hand luggage are standard, and everything quickly went to the waiting area. If you go to the waiting area of the local Gate 22 (down the stairs), then it's cheaper there, I bought a combo meal - shawarma with chicken, a small bag of chips and a jar of pepsi-everything cost 15 dirhams. At the Gate 19 departure there is a vending machine, there is ordinary water in a bottle of 1 dirham. In dyutik, prices are low, especially for local perfume, cigarettes as in Moscow-the price is the same.

Security - it's somewhere near zero: when we entered the airport building without any verification, of course I was surprised, but I decided that it was probably possible, but when we passed border control, entered the duty free zone and no one checked us all along the way, I thought and even tensed ( are people really going to be put on a plane unchecked???), in general, two metal detector frames and several security personnel appeared in front of the halls where boarding takes place directly. 3. Duty free - 2 small shops, and one of them looked more like a retail store against the wall. 3. Convenience and comfort of waiting rooms - unfortunately, it also tends to zero. Remember that if you still have to fly to Sharjah, charge all your gadgets to the full and preferably take a power bank, because at the airport there is a real problem with sockets, in each hall this is one place made in the form of an ugly column with sockets, most of which do not work, and those that they will naturally be busy))) Toilets in the waiting rooms should be noted separately.
