The rating of this place is highly overrated. I believe there’s also some manipulation with reviews. The place is very small, located in a basement, not family-friendly, not really a restaurant or a café, but more like a cheap eatery. Service is poor, with rude treatment towards families with children (since they don’t drink alcohol, don’t order many dishes, they may even refuse to serve you—even if it’s raining outside and you’re standing there with a child and a stroller). The place is more reminiscent of a Soviet-style canteen, where one woman works as cashier, waitress, and cleaner all at once. The menu is standard and bland. Some dishes cannot be ordered individually, only with a minimum quantity—for example, khinkali (not homemade, they taste like factory-made frozen ones). Overall, we were very disappointed.

Classic menu, good food, nice staff, great location, good prices. Can be full, and I wouldn't mind if they wouldn't close quite so early, but that's nitpicking. A great place and a must for the classic Georgian feel.

Terrible service. Terrible wait time. Food is served before the drinks. Worst veal stew in Georgia.

5 stars on the maps - and they are deserved . I found this restaurant on the maps - a huge number of fives. I decided to check it out because there are suspiciously many good reviews. It turned out that they were fair. It is located right around the corner of Freedom Square (8 Shalva Dadiani St.). The sign is only in Georgian, so you need to take a closer look. The interior is the simplest - like a stereotype of a Georgian restaurant, but in a good way. Cozy, homey. The staff is polite and attentive. There are children's chairs, a separate dining room has been allocated - this is a godsend for the family. We ordered a Georgian salad, Megrelian khachapuri, khinkali with cheese and wine. We waited for about 40 minutes. Meal: The salad is very tasty, the standard portion Khachapuri is simple, as it should be, it has not lost its taste even the next day Khinkali is warm and delicious, my daughter fell in love with them and learned to say "Inkali". The main advantage: the cheapest restaurant in the center of Solonaki with this quality. It's just unbelievable. Tip: specify the ingredients if you have allergies. We had an incident with a walnut, but it wasn't the restaurant's fault. Pros: cheap, tasty, courteous staff, there are separate rooms, children's chairs, excellent value for money. Cons: the sign is only in Georgian (difficult to find), there may be a wait. For a budget tourist, it must be included in the list. The 5-star rating is fully justified.

It's delicious here!! Since 2016, every time I am in Tbilisi, I always come here. Khinkali was eaten many places in Georgia, but the most delicious are here! A serving of 10 pieces or more seems like a lot, but take it safely. Georgian salad with nuts has also been tried many places, Velyaminov has the most delicious dressing and a large portion. The establishment is open until 21:30, but if you come at 21:15 they will feed you and will not say a word that it's time for them to close. The waitresses speak Russian and English, the service is fast, everything is clear. The menu is large, the prices are affordable. We also tried kharcho, badrijani, pork kebab - everything is delicious, but my favorite here is khinkali.

We were in this cafe only once, before we left. But we plan to get here in September. I'll try it in order.: 1. Food. Five out of five points. Large portions. Delicious. Satisfying. 2. Interior. Very simple, but authentic and deeply Georgian. Tables and studio made of natural wood, idle, but original dishes and appliances. 3. It is a pity that there is no menu in Russian, because it is so easy to make your visitors happy. Please add a menu in Russian. 4. There is no wi-fi, not critical, but it is always convenient to call a taxi to the hotel. 5. The staff was friendly, smiling, joking with us. 6. The prices are very reasonable! We will definitely return, and I wish the cafe prosperity! Thank you to the owner and all the employees of the establishment, we feel at home here.

A good establishment in the center of Tbilisi, and most importantly, the price-quality ratio is very good. Before that, the average check for three people was GEL 100, but here it is quite possible to eat for 50-60. Great variety. The trout was brought a little raw, but the waiter (speaks Russian well) immediately offered to either bring another one or refund the money

the most legendary place in Tbilisi. the price-quality ratio is perfect. the portions are huge. everything is authentic and delicious. the only thing is that you can order khinkali only from 10 pieces, and wine only in bottles. but for a good feast, this is not a minus, but a plus)

The locals recommended this cafe to us as an institution where you can try simple Georgian cuisine. We visited yesterday, and we didn't regret it. Khinkali is the best! Serving 10 pcs. That's sooo much. But it is not possible to stop. The menu is in English and Georgian. Our waiter, Nelly, answered all the questions with ease. Summary: pleasant atmosphere, excellent cuisine, friendly staff. We had a wonderful delicious evening. Thank you. P.S. We arrived at about six o'clock in the evening, we found an empty table easily. They left in 40-50 minutes .There was already a queue at the entrance.

A place visited by both tourists and locals. Two halls and booths. Semibasement. The waiters and the kitchen work quickly, but there are always a lot of people. Khinkali from 10 pieces, but very tasty. Both the dough and the meat. Whatever you haven't eaten, take with you. We wanted to try the eggplant, but we informed the waitress after the main order, and she forgot about them. We never found out the taste of this dish. There is no menu in Russian, but the waiters speak well.

We were in Tbilisi for the first time, according to reviews on YouTube, we visited the Khinkali Velyaminov on the first evening. We ordered khachapuri in Megrelian style, lettuce tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplant rolls. Everything was very tasty. The prices are cheaper than in other cafes in the Old Town. After 4 days, I can say that the most delicious cuisine is here. I can recommend an edge (not from the word spicy), the shish kebab is delicious. The menu is in English. The staff, as it turned out, is very friendly, compared to other cafes)

This restaurant was recommended to us (the Georgians themselves eat there))! Found it with difficulty) There are a lot of cafes nearby. The restaurant is on the 1st floor. The waiters understand Russian. We ordered kharcho, khachapuri, khinkali, kebab, badrijani, beer. We didn't wait long. Everything is very tasty!!!They gave 85 GEL for four people (2 adults and 2 children). I recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!

Delicious, inexpensive, city center. The service is fast, the food and wine are decent, and it is recommended for a mandatory visit. They paid about GEL 110 for the four of them, and they also took the rest of the khachapuri with them. The Lado waiter is the soul of the establishment.

Definitely the best khinkali in Tbilisi. We've been to 5 different restaurants like here, but we haven't found them anywhere else! The rest of the cuisine is ordinary and delicious. They took up empty seats. Order from 10 pieces (it is worth considering this)

A local Georgian highly recommended this place. Apparently, the Georgians are welcome here, which is not the case with the Russians. We arrived, an empty hall, 1 table is occupied, there are 3 female waitresses of Slavic appearance, speaking Russian, very unfriendly, they didn't even say hello, they offered the smallest table (there were two of us with my husband), it surprised me- the hall is empty, can't we offer the guests a choice? I asked if I could sit at the table more, nodded...They also approached us for a very long time, everything was said on their faces-we are not welcome here! Everything is fine in the kitchen, khinkali from 10 pieces is delicious, wine is only bottled, no glasses. But the feeling remained vile to this institution from this attitude. If you are a Russian person, I do not recommend this place!

We came on the recommendation of the tour operator, khinkali is really delicious, the minimum portion is 10 pieces. The eggplant salad we ordered turned out to be small. The fact that khinkali should be washed down with beer is not true, it turns out.

Despite the fact that the establishment is located in a basement and does not look like classic "big" restaurants, you will be pleasantly surprised by the quality. A classic set of Georgian dishes on the menu, but everything is very tasty! Walnut-based dressing for vegetable salad is generally the most delicious in Tbilisi!

I didn't like it. It was 10/24/2025, They didn't warn us that the kitchen would be cooking for a long time. They brought bread and French fries as a side dish, which had cooled down. The order was waited for 1.5 hours. Of the dishes that were ordered (fish, chmeruli), they brought a burnt fish steak, 39 lari. Chkmeruli with liquid sauce. The chicken is fresh. I don't recommend it.

It's delicious here.BUT.... At the entrance, you are immediately greeted by a disgruntled waiter to inform you that there are no seats, do not wait, get up here , there are simply no seats . Ok, we waited for the place for 15 minutes, we sat down in the first hall right where the entrance is , our whole visit people came in and crowded between the tables and waited for the place, not really when you eat and you are surrounded by waiting people .here it seems to me that it is necessary to put a hostess at the entrance to the establishment so that he reports on the number of places, and organizes a queue on the street, and not where people came to relax and eat . There is no service at all, they communicate and smile only to locals , there is no communication with tourists . Only 3 stars for the hands of the chef who cooked this meal, the people , the staff ruined the whole impression .

It's a good place. Delicious food. As for me, khinkali (minimum 10 pieces), shkmeruli, ojakhuri, tobacco are very correct. Pretty prompt service. But there are a lot of people. Perhaps it was during the New Year holidays, but people say that it's always like this, you'll have to stand in line (in the evening, for sure). Apparently, where it's good, there are a lot of people there. I recommend.

In general, I could recommend the establishment. There are no complaints about the food, it's really delicious, and the prices on the menu are relatively low, but the staff's not very friendly communication, one forgotten dish, a long serving, and the fact that we were shortchanged by about 20 lari somehow spoiled the impression. They do not take out the bill with the check, but simply announce the amount.

The iconic khinkalnaya in the center of Tbilisi. As we already know, if there is a queue at a restaurant, it means that there is a unique combination of price and quality. Meet (if you haven't been here yet) "Khinkalnaya Velyaminov", located in the very center, on Freedom Square. Georgian cuisine is very tasty here, and the check is 30 percent lower than in other popular establishments in the area. The service is excellent. This is a place where you can eat very, very tasty Georgian food, and pay for it a third less than in other good authentic restaurants. Here are the most delicious khinkali of all that we have tasted in Tbilisi. Our order for three: - 20 hinkals (large and juicy) - eggplant rolls - a large salad of fresh vegetables - chacha 250 gr. We ate too much and everything was insanely delicious. It came out for 630 lari (2,300 rubles).

At first, I wanted to give 3 for bringing terrible instant coffee from a series of ready-made mixtures with milk with poorly dissolved powder (I asked for black coffee and a little milk separately). Apparently, the waitress was confused by the milk)) She also messed up with the main course, she brought mushrooms with cheese instead of an omelet with cheese, but the older waitresses quickly fixed everything - they brought excellent black coffee and an omelet with cheese, which turned out to be sooo delicious!

This is the perfect and best home-made khinkal in the center of Tbilisi. We come here for lunch every trip. 1. Khinkali is delicious, fragrant, but the order is 20 pieces. I'm waiting for two. 2. Kebab and khachipuri in Adjarian at the highest level. 3. The salad is cool. It is coarsely cut, as is customary in Georgia. We definitely take it with nuts. 4. The staff is fast and friendly. Our heart was stolen 💔 At first glance, it may seem that the place does not deserve attention: a basement room and an austere interior that is not "instagrammed". Don't get fooled by this! All the days spent in Tbilisi, we had dinner at this place. In particular, we were here during the May "events". There are a lot of locals and tourists, the atmosphere is very friendly. The menu is literally on one A4 sheet, but it is enough to immerse yourself and fall in love with the Georgian colorful cuisine. The prices, by the way, are very affordable. I would also like to mention the amazing staff: all the beauties are charismatic and very hospitable!

Great cafe/restaurant! Don't think that if you haven't been licked from head to toe and there was no "respect in your eyes", then it's bad here. The main thing is that it's delicious here. I liked it the first time, so we visited Velyaminov throughout the next week. We tried khinkali, shish kebab, kharcho, ostri, khachapuri (in Mengreli and Imeritin), kupaty, salad with tomatoes, some kind of dish with mushrooms (my wife ordered and ate, so I don't know the name). Khinkali is super! Attention - portions start from 10 pieces (optimal for two, if you have ordered something else). My wife really liked the pork kebab, sometimes with bones (with bones for an amateur, it's awesome without them). Beer and wine are just a song for lovers, since a liter of wine costs 9 lari, and beer costs exactly the same amount. I would like to mention the waitresses separately - thank you for your kindness, responsiveness and efficiency!

We visited the institution because of the high ratings on Yandex. There is no menu in Russian. A very large selection of everything. But I had to translate. We ordered lula with mutton and suluguni, mushrooms with suluguni. Very tasty and juicy. We wanted to try the good local wine by the glass, but the waiter said they didn't have glasses. I had to take a bottle, but the wine was warm. It is not possible to drink. There was no ice, although they promised to serve it. It turned out that the wine that we took for 40 GEL in stores costs 10. Disappointment. We wanted to try khinkali, but they only start from 10 pieces. It's a lot for two, it's a pity that it's not like in all establishments starting from 5.

When our friend brought us to this place, we were amazed by its interior. It was simple and even somewhat rude, the service was at a low level, there were a lot of visitors, and all this in general gave the impression of a diner. However, I must admit, I have not tasted anywhere in Georgia more delicious khinkali and eggplant with nuts during all ten days of our stay. And the price for all this... Almost for nothing!
