The rating of this place is highly overrated. I believe there’s also some manipulation with reviews. The place is very small, located in a basement, not family-friendly, not really a restaurant or a café, but more like a cheap eatery. Service is poor, with rude treatment towards families with children (since they don’t drink alcohol, don’t order many dishes, they may even refuse to serve you—even if it’s raining outside and you’re standing there with a child and a stroller). The place is more reminiscent of a Soviet-style canteen, where one woman works as cashier, waitress, and cleaner all at once. The menu is standard and bland. Some dishes cannot be ordered individually, only with a minimum quantity—for example, khinkali (not homemade, they taste like factory-made frozen ones). Overall, we were very disappointed.

Classic menu, good food, nice staff, great location, good prices. Can be full, and I wouldn't mind if they wouldn't close quite so early, but that's nitpicking. A great place and a must for the classic Georgian feel.

Terrible service. Terrible wait time. Food is served before the drinks. Worst veal stew in Georgia.

5 stars on the maps - and they are deserved . I found this restaurant on the maps - a huge number of fives. I decided to check it out because there are suspiciously many good reviews. It turned out that they were fair. It is located right around the corner of Freedom Square (8 Shalva Dadiani St.). The sign is only in Georgian, so you need to take a closer look. The interior is the simplest - like a stereotype of a Georgian restaurant, but in a good way. Cozy, homey. The staff is polite and attentive. There are children's chairs, a separate dining room has been allocated - this is a godsend for the family. We ordered a Georgian salad, Megrelian khachapuri, khinkali with cheese and wine. We waited for about 40 minutes. Meal: The salad is very tasty, the standard portion Khachapuri is simple, as it should be, it has not lost its taste even the next day Khinkali is warm and delicious, my daughter fell in love with them and learned to say "Inkali". The main advantage: the cheapest restaurant in the center of Solonaki with this quality. It's just unbelievable. Tip: specify the ingredients if you have allergies. We had an incident with a walnut, but it wasn't the restaurant's fault. Pros: cheap, tasty, courteous staff, there are separate rooms, children's chairs, excellent value for money. Cons: the sign is only in Georgian (difficult to find), there may be a wait. For a budget tourist, it must be included in the list. The 5-star rating is fully justified.

It's a good place with delicious khinkali dishes. We visited all the most popular establishments in the city where they are made. I can say that khinkali is at the top of the list here. The dough is great, and so is the stuffing. Moderately sharp. We also had fried chicken, it was delicious too. Khinkali from 10 pieces, all dishes were served in 20-25 minutes, with a 70% hall load. The menu is only in Georgian and English. We were served by a very friendly guy who knew a little Russian, but nevertheless we did not switch to English. The establishment is located in the basement. I would recommend this place to have a delicious meal.

A good establishment in the center of Tbilisi, and most importantly, the price-quality ratio is very good. Before that, the average check for three people was GEL 100, but here it is quite possible to eat for 50-60. Great variety. The trout was brought a little raw, but the waiter (speaks Russian well) immediately offered to either bring another one or refund the money

It's not the first time here, we were in the summer and in February, it's very tasty and simple, the locals recommend it, and it's also very affordable. But khinkali is a minimum of 10 pieces, so you shouldn't go alone, the salad can be made without nut dressing if you have allergies. the entire meal cost about 70 lari (a jug of homemade white wine, 10 khinkalek, khachapuri in Megrelian style, two vegetable salads) It's for three, barely finished 😆

All 3 stars are for khinkali, they are really the most delicious in my life. But everything else is a nightmare, what's inside, what's the service (because of the pile of people, everyone takes a long time to carry and even change), what's the lack of cleanliness…The maximum is to order quickly and even though there is on the street, because you don't want to stay in such a terrible place, the visitors themselves also arrange some kind of singing, noise, dancing. Keep in mind khinkali from 10 pcs and wine from 1 liter, you only need to go with the company

the most legendary place in Tbilisi. the price-quality ratio is perfect. the portions are huge. everything is authentic and delicious. the only thing is that you can order khinkali only from 10 pieces, and wine only in bottles. but for a good feast, this is not a minus, but a plus)

A place visited by both tourists and locals. Two halls and booths. Semibasement. The waiters and the kitchen work quickly, but there are always a lot of people. Khinkali from 10 pieces, but very tasty. Both the dough and the meat. Whatever you haven't eaten, take with you. We wanted to try the eggplant, but we informed the waitress after the main order, and she forgot about them. We never found out the taste of this dish. There is no menu in Russian, but the waiters speak well.

Great place and cuisine! The service doesn't let you down either! The most important thing is that it's delicious and inexpensive, and most importantly, it's cozy! The Ostri dish was the only one that turned out to be a little harsh, beef after all😄 Separately, I would like to praise the dogwood compote

Definitely the best khinkali in Tbilisi. We've been to 5 different restaurants like here, but we haven't found them anywhere else! The rest of the cuisine is ordinary and delicious. They took up empty seats. Order from 10 pieces (it is worth considering this)

A good place to try traditional Georgian dishes. The food is delicious, khinkali is simple, I really liked the chikhirtma, lobio, salads, homemade wine is excellent, I also liked the local beer. They are served by nice girls, they understand Russian). I would be happy to recommend it! 🫶

A local Georgian highly recommended this place. Apparently, the Georgians are welcome here, which is not the case with the Russians. We arrived, an empty hall, 1 table is occupied, there are 3 female waitresses of Slavic appearance, speaking Russian, very unfriendly, they didn't even say hello, they offered the smallest table (there were two of us with my husband), it surprised me- the hall is empty, can't we offer the guests a choice? I asked if I could sit at the table more, nodded...They also approached us for a very long time, everything was said on their faces-we are not welcome here! Everything is fine in the kitchen, khinkali from 10 pieces is delicious, wine is only bottled, no glasses. But the feeling remained vile to this institution from this attitude. If you are a Russian person, I do not recommend this place!

It's a good place. Delicious food. As for me, khinkali (minimum 10 pieces), shkmeruli, ojakhuri, tobacco are very correct. Pretty prompt service. But there are a lot of people. Perhaps it was during the New Year holidays, but people say that it's always like this, you'll have to stand in line (in the evening, for sure). Apparently, where it's good, there are a lot of people there. I recommend.

I didn't like it. It was 10/24/2025, They didn't warn us that the kitchen would be cooking for a long time. They brought bread and French fries as a side dish, which had cooled down. The order was waited for 1.5 hours. Of the dishes that were ordered (fish, chmeruli), they brought a burnt fish steak, 39 lari. Chkmeruli with liquid sauce. The chicken is fresh. I don't recommend it.

The food was very tasty, we tried ajakhuri, khinkali, chakapuli, different types of kebabs, and we were incredibly satisfied with everything. It's delicious here!! Since 2016, every time I am in Tbilisi, I always come here. Khinkali was eaten many places in Georgia, but the most delicious are here! A serving of 10 pieces or more seems like a lot, but take it safely. Georgian salad with nuts has also been tried many places, Velyaminov has the most delicious dressing and a large portion. The establishment is open until 21:30, but if you come at 21:15 they will feed you and will not say a word that it's time for them to close. The waitresses speak Russian and English, the service is fast, everything is clear. The menu is large, the prices are affordable. We also tried kharcho, badrijani, pork kebab - everything is delicious, but my favorite here is khinkali.

The quality of the food is not bad, but during the week of our stay we met more delicious places, but the service was very unpleasant. The waitress greets and serves with such a dissatisfied look that you want to leave right away, before you even had time to ask her a question, she literally ran away from the table, not wanting to tell or explain anything. In other establishments, we met with excellent service and friendly attitude. As for khinkali, it's too peppery for me personally, the children, of course, didn't eat at all. Although, again, they ate with pleasure in other establishments.

Our heart was stolen 💔 At first glance, it may seem that the place does not deserve attention: a basement room and an austere interior that is not "instagrammed". Don't get fooled by this! All the days spent in Tbilisi, we had dinner at this place. In particular, we were here during the May "events". There are a lot of locals and tourists, the atmosphere is very friendly. The menu is literally on one A4 sheet, but it is enough to immerse yourself and fall in love with the Georgian colorful cuisine. The prices, by the way, are very affordable. I would also like to mention the amazing staff: all the beauties are charismatic and very hospitable!

Great cafe/restaurant! Don't think that if you haven't been licked from head to toe and there was no "respect in your eyes", then it's bad here. The main thing is that it's delicious here. I liked it the first time, so we visited Velyaminov throughout the next week. We tried khinkali, shish kebab, kharcho, ostri, khachapuri (in Mengreli and Imeritin), kupaty, salad with tomatoes, some kind of dish with mushrooms (my wife ordered and ate, so I don't know the name). Khinkali is super! Attention - portions start from 10 pieces (optimal for two, if you have ordered something else). My wife really liked the pork kebab, sometimes with bones (with bones for an amateur, it's awesome without them). Beer and wine are just a song for lovers, since a liter of wine costs 9 lari, and beer costs exactly the same amount. I would like to mention the waitresses separately - thank you for your kindness, responsiveness and efficiency!

The prices are slightly lower than in most restaurants nearby. Khinkali is delicious. Khachapuri is medium in Adjarian. White wine for 9 lari is just like water . in principle, you can eat, but the service is slow. We waited a long time for the order. If you come. That's only because of the khinkali.

We visited the institution because of the high ratings on Yandex. There is no menu in Russian. A very large selection of everything. But I had to translate. We ordered lula with mutton and suluguni, mushrooms with suluguni. Very tasty and juicy. We wanted to try the good local wine by the glass, but the waiter said they didn't have glasses. I had to take a bottle, but the wine was warm. It is not possible to drink. There was no ice, although they promised to serve it. It turned out that the wine that we took for 40 GEL in stores costs 10. Disappointment. We wanted to try khinkali, but they only start from 10 pieces. It's a lot for two, it's a pity that it's not like in all establishments starting from 5.

It's noisy and the queues are unnecessarily long. The food is average. Overall, it's delicious, but not wow. There are similar items in the area that taste a little better. But it's cheaper than the other 4 restaurants in the neighboring streets. It didn't make an impression. On the plus side: the food is good, the wine is good, the price is normal, the location is excellent.

We were in this cafe only once, before we left. But we plan to get here in September. I'll try it in order.: 1. Food. Five out of five points. Large portions. Delicious. Satisfying. 2. Interior. Very simple, but authentic and deeply Georgian. Tables and studio made of natural wood, idle, but original dishes and appliances. 3. It is a pity that there is no menu in Russian, because it is so easy to make your visitors happy. Please add a menu in Russian. 4. There is no wi-fi, not critical, but it is always convenient to call a taxi to the hotel. 5. The staff was friendly, smiling, joking with us. 6. The prices are very reasonable! We will definitely return, and I wish the cafe prosperity! Thank you to the owner and all the employees of the establishment, we feel at home here.

We were here in 2021. Almost nothing has changed, except that the seating has become more dense. Delicious, fast, varied. It's moderately noisy. It is convenient for a company of 4-6 people. Probably the main disadvantage is that they close early, and the kitchen stops taking orders an hour before closing.

Mediocre food. Yes, the prices are slightly lower than other restaurants, but it's better to add a little and have a delicious meal. The waitresses are boorish, the disregard for tourists is obvious. Tired, embittered, and resentful of life. They also calculate cheerfully) they don't take out the bill, but just call the amount out of their heads. It is unclear why such a rating is given. If you want to eat poorly and in a bad mood, go here. The interior and dishes are also battered. Everything is scratched and poorly cleaned. The room is smoky.

I have never tasted better and tastier food in Georgia! It's just a benchmark! If you haven't been to this restaurant, I strongly recommend it. But it is advisable to visit in the morning, as there will be no places after lunch. In general, there's enough writing here, and I've already swallowed my saliva! I don't recommend this place as much as possible. The visit left an extremely unpleasant impression for two main reasons: 1. Boorish staff. The staff were inconsiderate and rude, which created a negative atmosphere from the very beginning. 2. Long wait. We waited an indecently long time for the ordered khinkali, although there were not very many visitors in the hall. Bottom line: the combination of poor service and slow kitchen operation completely ruined the experience. We do not plan to return here.

I chose the restaurant based on reviews and was shocked: tasteless, bland food, meat - solid fat and bones, drinks were brought only after a reminder (and not even the ones that were ordered), bread was forgotten (and never served). The waitress just laughs at all the questions and clarifications, the rest of the staff is angry and aggressive. Well, the most "pleasant thing": the banal khinkali waited for an hour and a half. Horror, gloom, trash, I do not recommend it!

Hello everyone I recommend you to visit. This is certainly not a restaurant, but it is khinkali that is top for me here. The place is very visited by both locals and expats. There are often no tables available. They found it for us right away. There was already a queue after that. The female waitresses, though a little tortured, are very benevolent and take care of all the guests. The prices are cheap for both khinkali and alcohol. Great cheeses.

An amazing experience. I don't discuss food. Everything is delicious. But it doesn't taste any better than in other good establishments. No wine by the glass. From a liter Chacha - from 250 ml. Khachapuri - from 10 Service - maybe we were so lucky. Russian Russian is spoken calmly by everyone, but our waitress made it clear that it was better not to speak Russian. Speak English.
