Thank you to the Academlux company for their help in applying for the youth program at Brooke House Summer School. The training lasted 2 weeks. The training program I really liked the English classes, as the main focus was on the development of communication skills. In addition, the friendly atmosphere in the classroom encouraged children to learn the language. This, of course, is the merit of Simone, whose lessons Irena attended with great pleasure. Events The most important thing for me is the fact that the children were busy all day and they didn't have much time for phones and tablets. I especially liked the sports events (rafting and cycling). The most memorable were excursions to London, the Harry Potter Museum and a trip to an amusement park. Accommodation and meals Good living conditions. The city where the college is located is small but cozy. The college is located in the city center, so all shops and cafes are within walking distance. The food is a little unusual for our children, but it is acceptable for two weeks. There are no comments on the registration process of our program.

I studied at the Prague Educational Center for a summer language program. In general, I liked the training, however, the level of training in English was low. I was bored with my grammar school English language training. It would be possible to test the quality of students' basic knowledge of English and assign people to appropriate groups. The Czech language was excellent, it was very interesting, and learning was not difficult at all. The events were held perfectly, if it was not possible to get to one place, something else was immediately organized. In my opinion, the composition of the events does not need to be adjusted. We have seen everything that was promised to be shown. I liked the living conditions. The hotel is good, everything is new, everything works, there were no problems with anything. The only inconvenient thing was that they gave one key per room, so sometimes it was difficult to find a neighbor to get into the room, but you could ask the guard to open the room, they never refused. The food was decent, the lunches were full, the food was delicious. If you are not too lazy to cook your own food, you can do without additional paid dinners. There were not enough pots and pans for proper cooking of dinners. The kitchens are open until 10 p.m., if you ask the curator, you can sit until 11, but it very rarely happens. You can buy pizza, boil sausages in a kettle ;), you can have dinner in a restaurant, but that's how anyone likes it. I have no comments or suggestions on the design. It is a very interesting program, if someone is interested in studying in the Czech Republic, then you can start with it. I really liked our curator Maxim.

Adult EC English School from 16 years and older (St.Julian's) Intensive English course 30 lessons per week. Accommodation in student apartments. The duration is 2 weeks. I took English Intensive lessons (4.5 hours a day, 5 days a week) in Malta for 2 weeks (June 29 – July 13). I really enjoyed studying at EC! Native-speaking teachers from London, Canada, Malta. My level was Advanced, so the main focus was on discussing various topics (speaking). During the two weeks of the course, it became easier for me to communicate in English - the eternal fear and thoughts of incorrect pronunciation and grammatically correct sentence construction almost disappeared. Students come to the school from the most remote corners of the world (Brazil, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, etc.). Therefore, an integral part of learning is recognizing different accents, studying the culture of other countries, which is very interesting and informative. And of course, the acquisition of new acquaintances and friends. I would love to go to the EC in Malta again, but for a longer period. After all, two weeks is really not enough to improve your English level. Also, for my level, I would not take General courses, but preparation for some kind of exam (IELTS, for example) + Intensive classes. As well as an emphasis on communication to the maximum. It is necessary to communicate, communicate and communicate in order to really improve your English skills, attend all possible events. And, of course, completely eliminate communication in your native language. I would like to change only one element – classes were held 2 times a week with an emphasis on grammar. The textbooks provided by the school to the Pre-advanced group were for the Upper-Intermediate level (English Result textbooks, Oxford University Press). In the main classes I was in the pre-advanced group, in the intensive classes I was in advanced. However, it seemed that the textbooks were suitable for the maximum Intermediate level – the tasks were banal, easy, uninteresting (for example, correlate descriptions with a picture, etc.). After contacting the teacher and the school administration, the textbooks were replaced with Speak out (Advanced). However, the sediment remained, time was lost. On the positive side, the administration responds to requests and tries to solve problems, albeit slowly. As for the events in the EC, everything is very well organized, interesting and diverse. Every week, a list of events is offered from Monday to Sunday – from international parties with special offers from school and BBQ party to excursions to nearby cities, to other islands (Gozo, Comino) and to Sicily. Events change and are supplemented every week. Some excursions are conducted by the Program Manager of the Stanley Darien school – and this is a separate story (very interesting, informative). Initially, I was supposed to live in the Drayton apartments (located right around the corner from the school in St.Julians). A week before arrival, the school changed them to Graham Court (about 20 minutes walk from the school, in Sliema) for an unknown reason. Upon arrival, it turned out that the Graham Court apartments were not ready to move in. The next day (after spending the night at the Patricia School residence), they still wanted to put me up at Graham court. But there were 2 Russian-speaking girls living there, and I asked them to choose another option. Another option was a house on Santa Margarita in Sliema. A stunning 3-storey house, where only 3 people lived for the first week, then 7 people. The house itself is amazing, built in the 1920s, a typical Maltese house with a terrace, a balcony, high ceilings, columns… However, we were the first students to be settled there, so the house had a lot of problems – lack of Internet, non-working refrigerators, complete lack of water, and then leaks in all bathrooms, not a complete set of dishes and that in not the best condition ... these were the main problems. They were gradually resolved, but not completely. The main details for future students: you will need an adapter for an outlet, which costs about 6 euros there. If possible, take care of this in advance. If the apartment is in St.Julians, it will be noisy (parties until the morning, a busy part of the city with clubs). If you are in Sliema, it takes 15-25 minutes to get to school, depending on the location, but it is quiet and peaceful. Requests for relocation are treated calmly, they are looking for new places, but it is not a fact that the new place will be better than the old one. In general, the school made a very good impression, except for the disadvantages described above. I really liked the fact that they really try and want to get feedback from students, try to solve problems. It seems that all employees love their work. But every year the number of students is increasing, and it is difficult to cope with all the problems that arise.
