A concentrated story embodied in the monumental architecture in the Empire style. It was built by order of Napoleon Bonaparte to commemorate the victories of the "Great Army", in particular at Austerlitz. It was based on the Triumphal Arch of Titus in the Roman Forum. The arch depicts 128 battles of the French army and 660 generals. Napoleon did not wait for the end of his reign as emperor, and did not live to see it, the arch was completed only in 1831.
Architects Jean-Francois Chalgren, Jean-Arnaud Raymond, Abel Bluet. In 1921, the Grave of the Unknown Soldier was organized under the arch.

It is mandatory to visit, it is not difficult to climb it at all, the view from it is amazing) buy tickets in advance and arrive at the time indicated on the ticket, then show the guard your ticket and do not stand in two huge queues - first to buy a ticket, then to enter with this ticket! I think the time savings are 2-3 hours. The view is gorgeous, you can see Montmartre, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysees in the palm of your hand and the modern business district of Paris La Defense.
