A very interesting museum in Vitebsk. It opens the history of the creation of Vitebsk UNOVIS. Here you immerse yourself in the history of Vitebsk specifically and in Russia as a whole at the beginning of the 19th century. The history of the formation of such personalities as Kazemir Malevich, Marc Chagall, El Lissitzky and many other prominent people of that time. You get in touch with creativity with the help of a tour guide, reproductions of famous avant-garde masters and an interactive exhibition. Thanks a lot to the guide Violetta, she told us a lot of interesting facts. You should definitely go . Just keep in mind that the opening time of the museum is different in summer and winter.

We went for a threesome with my husband and teenage son in July 2025. We took an individual tour of 2 halls (Russian artists and Yu. Peng). My husband is not particularly interested in art, he didn't really want to go. To my surprise, he really liked N. Bogatov's painting "On errands", they discovered this artist for the first time. In the evening we got acquainted with his other paintings. My son was impressed by Pen's painting "The Old Man and Death." I didn't have to wait for the guide, he came right over. He was friendly, told me everything, answered my questions. Inexpensive. They paid 69 Belarusian rubles for everything.

The ticket price is high - 23 rubles per person. Feelings are mixed. On the one hand, there are very worthy works by Yuri Pan, a small hall of outstanding works by Russian masters, and an interesting restoration workshop. Interesting pieces are also found in other halls. On the other hand, 3/4 of the exposition is a very low-level artistic initiative. I advise you to visit - but only for connoisseurs of high-quality painting, regardless of its quantitative ratio to everything else.
