I love this cat. "The sculpture was created by the world-famous Colombian artist and sculptor Fernando Botero in 1988. It is made in his signature style of "boterism", which is characterized by grotesquely exaggerated volumes, magnificent shapes and monumentality. The appearance of the cat in the capital of Armenia is due to the American billionaire and philanthropist of Armenian origin Gerard Gafeschyan. In the early 2000s, he bought the rights to reconstruct the Cascade, founded an Art Center there, and began bringing back masterpieces of world modernist sculpture from his personal collection. The "Cat" became the very first exhibit that Gafeschyan brought to Yerevan. The official opening of the sculpture took place on November 26, 2002. There are three original bronze sculptures in the world, and one of them adorns Yerevan. The height of the Yerevan cat is 2.5 meters"
