Brura Yurt House Museum. The artist and sculptor Bror Hjorth (1894-1968) built a house with a workshop on the outskirts of Uppsala, in the elite Kobu district, in 1943. He lived here with his family and worked until his death in 1968. In 1978, a museum was opened in the house, where the artist's works are exhibited and exhibitions are held. Admission is free. The museum is open all year, closed only on certain holidays. There is a souvenir shop and a cafe. Yurt trained in Denmark and Paris, in the studio of the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. The sculpture "Cubic Girl" (1921) is on display in the courtyard of the museum. In front of Uppsala Central Station there is a large sculptural composition Yurt "Polka neka" (nek, neken - Swedish version of the water). The famous painting of the Yurt is the painting of the altar in the Yukkasjärvi church in Lapland. Brur Yurt was a modernist, experimenting with Cubism, expressionism, primitivism, and folk art motifs. He is one of the three most outstanding Swedish sculptors of the 20th century - Brur Jurt, Carl Milles and Carl Eld.
