Kohem Castle is one of the most beautiful sights in Germany. 🏰 Interesting facts: The first mention of the castle dates back to the 11th century — it controlled the trade route along the Rhine. In 1689, it was almost completely destroyed by the French troops of Louis XIV. In the 19th century, the castle was bought by a Berlin businessman and restored in the Neo-Gothic style. Today it is the main symbol of the city of Cochem: excursions, wine festivals and knight shows take place here. The terraces offer stunning views of the Moselle Valley with its vineyards and picturesque villages.
