We stayed for 3 weeks at this hotel from 08.10.25 to 27.10.25, just returned. We took all-inclusive meals. We traveled with two children: 3.5 years and 5 months. The food is wonderful, varied, and feeding the child is not a problem.Yes, there are spicy dishes, but there are also ordinary ones.Fish every day, chicken, sometimes beef, pork, sometimes seafood:shrimp, squid, crabs.More sweets:cakes, pastries, jellies, ice cream. Fruits at all meals. The alcohol is local, very normal, the juices are not upi, as in Turkey, not nearly worse than ours from the boxes. The restaurant overlooks the ocean, and there are a lot of fish, moray eels, and parrots in the rocks below.It's just a dream to sit in such a restaurant every day! The hotel's beach is clean, the sun beds are right behind the fence, it takes 1 minute to walk from the sun beds to the ocean, there is also a bar, very convenient. There are few sun beds, but almost always enough. The pool overlooks the ocean, the beauty is incredible. The beaches on the pool side are also interesting, there is a living coral reef, fish swim near the hotel, 2 baby rice sharks, turtles swim. There is a turtle beach, there is a 5-minute walk along the beach.you can rent sun beds near it, and Irina has a cafe there (there weren't any, but the reviews about it are good). The attitude of the staff at the hotel is great, you feel like you're in a big family! The rooms are beautiful, we had two exits: to the ocean, and towards the reception. Waking up to the sound of the ocean is great. The territory of the hotel is well-groomed, green, chipmunks run around, monitor lizards walk, exotic birds fly, we even managed to see mongooses and civets. The animation in the hotel is very light, during the day there is volleyball, boccia, dancing, etc. in the evening there is live music, there was a disco a couple of times. The hotel's guests are of different nations: Europeans, Indians, Sri Lankans, Russians. The ocean in Dickwell is the best! We were in Beruvella, Galle, passed Unawatuna - the ocean is gray and very agitated. We also swam here with children, but you need to understand that it's still waves, you can't lie on the water. There are no complaints about the hotel, the hotel is ideal for relaxation.We got exactly what we wanted. I already want to go back!!!

We stayed at the hotel from 03/18/25-03/28/25. At first, they didn't move into a very nice, old room 4, with a bad shower and very old furniture. The windows overlooked the pool and in the evening it was noisy with music. Later, thanks to a separate guide, Timofey changed the room with an ocean view, in a quiet place. The hotel is in a very good location, surrounded by 2 beaches. One beach with turtles. On the other side, however, there were waves all the time, so we swam with turtles and a mask. The reception staff was very friendly, but there was a problem with cleaning, as I had to constantly ask for water, soap, tea, and they didn't always bring it themselves. The food is monotonous, but tasty, a lot of spicy, but you can choose. We enjoyed the dinners, and every evening we presented food from different countries . Drinks are not included for dinner, you can purchase, book a room, and pay at the end of the rest. We had lobster, it was very tasty and the food was good. The territory is not large, but the beach strip is very large, there is a place to walk. There are various cafes near the hotel on the beach where you can have a good and delicious meal. It's not expensive and delicious at the Mahi-Mahi restaurant, I also recommend it. In the evening, a saxophone is playing at the hotel.

We flew from Moscow with a transfer to Colombo, we drove to the hotel for about 4 hours, because tourists were brought along the way, it took 3 hours to drive! We stayed at the Dickwella Resort and SPA 5* hotel from February 13 to February 22. I recommend this hotel to everyone. Beautiful protected area. The rooms are very cozy, located in two-storey bungalows in a traditional Sri Lankan style. Large family rooms with a second floor. The meals were for breakfast/dinner, everything was delicious. They didn't stay hungry. There are many different dishes, the national cuisine is spicy. Alcohol is paid, cocktails are about 600 rubles. A bottle of wine is about 1500-2000 rubles, and there are more expensive ones. We bought it at dinner. they offer to buy a bottle right away and leave it for the next evening. I wanted more variety of fruits. Ice cream in the evening every day. We had lunch at the hotel once, it was delicious, and there was ice cream too. A great chef, always came up, asked if everything was delicious, as we like it here. If there were any questions, he would immediately solve them. I had a dinner with fresh seafood, everything was delicious!!! Live music at the bar in the evening. Bottles of water are brought to the room every day, there was enough water, I took a bottle of water from the room to the children for dinner, no one said anything. When you go by tuk-tuk, bargain too. We went on our own to the nearest temple, one of the best temples of the Buddha. There are touts on the beach next to the hotel, they offer guided tours. Vasa, a middle-aged man who speaks Russian fairly well, came up to us and offered to go on an excursion with him. Every day, when we went to the beach, he showed us where it was better for the child to swim. As a hotel guide, Vasya, you can ask any question. He will tell you everything and recommend you. We went with him to the Gala and to the turtle farm, he offered to ride along the river and look at the small crocodiles, we didn't have enough time, we specially went after lunch to walk around the Gala. The SIM card was bought at the airport for 100GB and 10 bucks, but I don't know the price for 20GB. The money was changed at the airport, the exchange rate is 293 13.02. At the jeweler's hotel, the exchange rate is much lower. If you go to the Gala, ask Vasya, he will show you a good exchanger. If you want to learn how to surf, go to the big beach. I don't understand the rave reviews about this hotel. Its only advantage is its convenient location: a beach with relatively small waves and a wild beach next to even smaller waves and turtles. About dinners: everything is sad here, for three. You can eat from the edible: ice cream, fruits, fried chicken, olives. They don't know how to cook meat and fish. They even managed to spoil the simple cutlets. There are a lot of them, some very spicy food, for an amateur. If you don't like spicy food, then it's better not to take unknown dishes. On the downside: at dinner, if you did not take the all-inclusive system, then there is not even water, let alone juice or tea. That is, if you try something spicy, you will immediately have to buy something from drinks or run for ice cream. The plates are cleaned in a timely manner, there are no questions about this, but the staff is not very kind, rather ostentatious indifference. If their local Lankans or Indians come on vacation (mostly they come for the weekend), then be prepared for the fact that all Russian and European tourists will be pushed aside: tables will be reserved for them and they will be served first of all, and music will be turned on so dreary national that you will want to escape from dinner as soon as possible.. The animation in the hotel is exactly zero - there is none at all! There's nothing to do after dinner. In general, it's pretty boring there, considering that all the attractions of Sri Lanka are far away from the hotel: 3 hours or more by car. The hotel would be good for relaxing holidays, but here it is necessary to tighten up the service, and it is lame. The nature is unique, the beach is good, the hotel manager would like to change. Because they ruin the place with their approach. In the neighborhood, locals constantly burn tires in the evenings, if there is no wind from the sea in the other direction, then there is nothing to breathe. No one is chasing them. In general, with a great location, the hotel is not so good, it is neglected in terms of service, furniture and repairs. The hotel is old, everything is pretty good, the rooms in the photo ads are probably 10 years old. Things are looking bleak right now. My verdict is that I will not return here unless they change their approach and upgrade the hotel!

But the biggest advantage of this hotel is its location on the cape of the island, where on one side there is a lagoon with sea turtles and a calmer ocean, and on the other side there are waves for lovers of extreme sports and windsurfing. The chipmunks and small monitor lizards scurrying around the territory are touching. The food in the restaurant is varied, and the ocean views are simply wonderful. We took a two-day tour "Pearl of Sri Lanka" from a tour operator. We were very satisfied. Everything is clearly organized - there are no expectations anywhere. Everything is according to the program - sights, flora and fauna, and even more, thanks to the kindness of the guides. I highly recommend this hotel to stay in, and Sri Lanka as a whole to visit because of its unusual nature, history and culture.

We arrived at the hotel at 4 p.m., the room was not ready, we waited two hours in the heat, it turned out that the hotel decided to earn money and charged the previous guests for late check-out. The menu is meager, the food is average, the juices are great. On turtle beach, Mahi Mahi is a great cafe, no one offers anything except food. Delicious food, online menu. The food is monotonous and very spicy. The pastries are very tasty. Over time, they adjusted and figured out what is sharp and what is not. We ordered lobster, fish, and octopus for lunch. Nearby, along the right coastline there is a cafe Mahi-Mahi. It went so very well for us. Ordered seafood. The portion also includes French fries, rice and salad, unexpectedly and pleasantly. Their bottled beer is delicious. There is a turtle bay nearby. There you can watch and feed the turtles. The views of the ocean and palm trees are fascinating. Everything you need is there. Each room has a kettle and a daily replenished set of tea, coffee, and sugar. The coffee is disgusting, Nescafe. Coffee lovers will be hard pressed, there was no normal coffee in the vicinity. I advise you to take an adapter with you, otherwise you will not be able to use electrical outlets. there are no Russian-language channels on TV, but we took a laptop with us and watched movies in the evenings - the Internet works fine on site, the speed allows you to watch anything online. The room is cleaned daily, without complaints. We took only breakfast, had dinner at Irina's on turtle beach. The restaurant has no special miracles, no frills, but it's delicious.
