A great place) we got there on our own from another city by bus, then by metro (I strongly recommend that you take the subway to Dubai Mall, travel through ground stations, gorgeous views of skyscrapers).
I can't evaluate it as a place for shopping, we bought things in other Malls in Ras Al Khaimah, it's much cheaper there). But the Mall itself, of course, is great. We looked at the fish in a huge aquarium on 3 floors (you can go inside, it's for a fee), visited one of the best fear rooms (emotions were off the scale), and, of course, the fountain show (this is something, I really did not expect such an effect), fountains start at 18.00, the show lasts 3-4 minutes, repeat every half hour.
