Galata Bridge was a real discovery for us during our trip to Istanbul. A walk across the bridge is not only a great opportunity to enjoy the view of the Bosphorus and the historical part of the city, but also to experience the atmosphere of Istanbul to the fullest. It is always crowded here, and the fishermen on the bridge create a special atmosphere, attracting the attention of both tourists and locals.
The bridge separates two important areas of the city — Old Istanbul and Galata, and provides stunning views of the city from both sides. We spent several hours here, enjoying the views and delicious dishes in the cafe under the bridge. The perfect place to stop, take pictures and just relax while watching the life of the city.
Galata Bridge has become for us not just a tourist attraction, but a place where you can feel the true atmosphere of Istanbul — a dynamic, lively and multifaceted city

An iconic place for Istanbul, everyone who has visited this city has visited the Galata Bridge, a beautiful view of the Bosphorus, and you can have a delicious breakfast there (you shouldn't count on meat, and I don't recommend eating sausage, it's something inedible), a lot of cafes, you just need to look at the price tags, the same A Turkish breakfast can cost 700 lire for two, or maybe 1000 lire per person.

It's a very atmospheric place. We walked many times and watched fishermen catching horse mackerel. Historic Istanbul is magnificent at any time of the year. The New Year of 1919 was celebrated on the bridge. Goldfish cafe, altyn balyk.
I really liked it. Looking from the bridge at the celebrating Istanbul is unforgettable.

It connects two parts of Istanbul, the European and the Asian. Take a walk towards Galataport, where huge cruise ships can dock, very close to an excellent shopping center of good clothing brands. When passing from the Fatih district across the Galata bridge to the Karakey district, on the left along nondescript streets (similar to old street markets), you can find an excellent restaurant with the freshest fish and an interesting old place of a two-story manufactory building.

Galata Bridge is a drawbridge across the Golden Horn Bay in Istanbul. Located opposite the New Mosque.
The bridge is a two-storey structure: on the ground floor there is a walking area and restaurants, and on the second floor there is car and tram traffic.
The Galata Bridge overlooks the Golden Horn Bay, the Galata Tower, the Suleymaniye and Valide Sultan mosques, as well as Eminenyu Pier, from where boats, speedboats and ferries sail.
Eminenyu Ferry Pier is located next to the Galata Bridge, from here vapours depart along the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn Bay and the Asian part of Istanbul.
There are always a huge number of fishermen, you can also rent a fishing rod and fish yourself)
The views from the bridge are amazing.
I advise you to walk over this bridge at least once.

One of the attractions of Istanbul is the Galata Bridge, you can walk, watch the fishermen and just admire the beautiful Istanbul. A cool place - the Golden Horn Bay and the Bosphorus Strait are immediately visible! You can see the opposite shore across the Bosphorus and other bridges over the Golden Horn. The Galata Tower is also visible. Magnificent view of the mosque. Ships are scurrying along the Bosphorus. The bridge itself is full of local fishermen who catch fish (both big and small). The atmosphere of a large sea city is felt)

A historical place. Great views, great restaurants.. But the prices are not small. There are many fishermen on the bridge, both day and night. There is an alcohol market under the bridge closer to Eminu's berths. During the day, they make a delicious ekmek balik for 150 lire. It's worth taking a walk to see everything for yourself :)))

A picturesque tourist spot. The bridge consists of 2 tiers. The lower pedestrian zone consists entirely of Cafes and hookah bars. A great place to smoke a hookah, drink Turkish Tea and look at Vapura and the strait. There is an observation deck with a telescope. And most importantly, it's all in the shade if you're in a hot summer.

It was my first time in Istanbul, so I went for a walk. We reached this bridge with my wife, a lot of restaurants. All menus are 98% the same, the fine print in the menu indicates 15-20% service fee. They promise seafood dishes that have just been caught, not a fact, I'm not sure. We ordered fish soup and there were mushrooms, we ordered shrimp in a pot to understand what kind of dish, and there were mushrooms and some shrimp again. The photo in the menu differs from the real one. And the body reported a couple of hours later that they were there in vain. I do not recommend trying anything under the bridge in these pseudo restaurants

It is impossible to avoid the Galata Bridge: it connects the historical part of the city with the more modern one across the Golden Horn Bay, and the main bus and tram lines run through it. And next to it are the berths of motor ships (an important view of the Istanbul seaport) going to the opposite, Asian side of the Bosphorus. The bridge is two-tiered: the lower level is full of restaurants, mostly fish restaurants, and on the upper level, at any time of the year, in the morning, afternoon, and evening, there are (almost shoulder to shoulder) amateur fishermen (I saw them here even on New Year's Eve)...

We sat with my husband in a cafe overlooking the Bosphorus. Of course, the pleasure is not cheap, but it was worth it! The bridge itself is a two-tiered pedestrian bridge with a cafe at the bottom, a roadway and a pedestrian one at the top. There are always a lot of fishermen with fishing rods and fishing at the top. It's an interesting sight! It seems to me that this is a pastime of the townspeople in their free time. Well, the views are breathtaking!

The Galata Bridge, spanning the Bosphorus, is the only thing that makes it interesting for walking, after all, we do not often walk on bridges in warm countries, although of course it also serves purely utilitarian purposes, namely connects the shores of the rather large city of Istanbul, between the districts of which the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara stretch, rather a part the sea, but nevertheless...You can look at the pleasure boats with tourists passing under it and ferries with local residents and tourists crossing. On the lower tier of the bridge there are restaurants and cafes, quite decent, where you can try fish dishes. On the upper tier, it is quite possible to walk, go to the Galata Tower and look at the local fishermen, of whom there are many located on the bridge. I think the bridge is worth visiting by tourists, especially in the heat, it is quite pleasant to walk there, the breeze from the sea is pleasantly refreshing.
