We stayed at this hotel in May 2025. The hotel is located by a waterfall. It takes about 7-10 minutes to walk to the sea along the cypress alley. The room was on the 2nd floor with a view of the city. I didn't like the room with a little tired furniture, bed and bed linen, but overall the room is not bad, spacious. Cleaning every day. The food is good, we had breakfast and dinner included. The choice of dishes is not very large, about 2-3 salads, 2 soups, 2-3 main courses, pastries, but everything was cooked delicious. I especially liked the cheeses, homemade cottage cheese, and delicious soups. The rest was intense, there are many attractions within walking distance of the hotel, there is always a place to go: the well-kept Athos Park, the famous Athos cave, the Athos Monastery, the Anakopian fortress on the mountain, the waterfall, the railway station, the cell of Simon Kananita. We also bought excursions on the street and in the lobby of the hotel to see other attractions of Abkhazia. I recommend the hotel, we liked it, despite not minor flaws.

We were in Grand Athos in October of the 25th year. We were pleasantly surprised, first of all, by the hotel's restaurant. The restaurant is located on the 7th floor of the building. There is an outdoor terrace with wonderful views. We had breakfast and dinner included. The breakfast is standard. But there were some minor problems with the coffee machine ( it got tired ) Incredibly delicious strawberry jam, dumplings with Adyghe cheese and jam are just great. Dinners are also very pleasant: two or three salads to choose from. Pork, chicken or beef to choose from. Once there was baked trout. Very tasty soups. There were desserts ( cakes with various creams and fruit fillings ) , there were not enough fruits . special thanks to the administrator Aida, she monitored the availability of dishes and immediately brought more if something was running out. We were a little surprised by the behavior of the guests in this hotel, many gathered mountains of food and then hid them in packages, but these are questions for people and not for the hotel itself. About the numbers . we got a room with a view of the tunnel on the 5th floor. Because the room was angular, it was a strange triangular shape (but it was our own fault because we saved several thousand and did not pay extra for the view of the city) It was cool in October and they brought us a good oil heater. The air conditioning system (centralized) worked strangely, so we didn't use it. The room was cleaned daily and fresh water was brought. There was a clothes dryer and a couple of chairs on the balcony. There are many small bugs (green bug) living on the side of the mountain They're harmless, but they're constantly trying to get into the room. The pool is located in a nearby hotel. The water was very warm, but a few days before the hotel closed, the heat began to decrease. The hotel has its own beach. Designed for 3 hotels (Rodina, waterfall, Grand Athos), sun beds and umbrellas are free of charge. There is a free Wi-Fi in the bar and it finishes almost all the way to the sea. There's great music in the bar. We took tea and drinks, everything was fine. The toilet on the beach is paid. Near the descent to the beach there is a bakery with very tasty pizza for a penny, I highly recommend it. We used to visit the rodina hotel, the difference is not very big, but I liked the grand Athos much more with the location and food In rodina, the food is very simple, but the pool and the territory are better. I think I wrote everything I wanted. All the pros and cons. I hope to return to this hotel again, the weather has let us down, but the impressions are still positive.

I really liked the Grand Athos, the polite staff, the delicious food, it was in June 2023. Back then, there was also a pool on the 7th floor, I liked visiting it, as far as I know, it was removed. I want to come back this year. On the way to the hotel, you can enjoy the beautiful nature, the cleanest air, and there is a beach related to the hotel. I definitely recommend a vacation at this New Athos hotel! 2026 I visited New Athos and the Grand Athos Hotel again from 05/29-1.06. This time I came with my husband, he really liked everything and the nature and food at the hotel, we plan to return in 2028.
