We visited Hadrian's Gate during a walk through the old town of Kaleici in Antalya, and we had a pleasant experience. The spirit of antiquity is immediately felt here. The three arches, the delicate carvings and the remains of the columns look impressive. Traces of different eras are clearly visible, for example, fragments of Roman reliefs. Located in the center of Kaleici, it is easy to combine sightseeing with a walk through the narrow streets, shops and cafes. There are not enough detailed signs in English or Russian, it is difficult to understand the details of the story without a guide or independent search. I definitely recommend visiting

It is a very popular and beautiful landmark with an interesting history. In 130, they were repressed by the Roman King Hadrian, who used it as a defense separating the city from the harbor.🏛️🏝️ The ancient architecture seems to be Greek, but at the same time it is not. Beautiful three arches left over from the Roman Empire are the only ones in Antalya. The dirt and dust in the crevices gives the old look like it's about to fall apart, but it holds on.🫠🏗️ I wonder how many people passed under it?

I am glad that the landmark, of which there are so many hundreds, is well preserved! We visited twice: in the morning and at sunset. Surprisingly, we got different impressions from the visit. During the day, the noise of a busy city is superimposed, in the evening, when there are significantly fewer tourists, you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the ancient city, the secrets of which are revealed to visitors by Hadrian's Gate! I recommend you to visit!

Definitely worth a visit, but accompanied by a guide, with a group or on the edge with an audio guide. An independent viewing will not give a complete picture of the significance of this historical place. By the way, on the left side you will see how cool pigeons sit on a vertical wall, which is rarely seen anywhere! The whole place! It is a monumental Roman-era triumphal arch, built in 130 AD in honor of the visit of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. They consist of three arches and are among the best preserved monuments of antiquity in the city. The gate serves as the main entrance to Antalya's historic Kaleici district (Old Town). They are located on Ataturk Boulevard. Passing through this gate, you enter the narrow, charming streets of Kaleici, where you can see historical houses, the Yivli minaret and reach the old harbor. Stock up on water and go ahead! Have a good rest!

A visit to Hadrian's Gate is a must—have item in the program for those who want to experience the connection of times in Antalya. This is not a huge castle or an entire city, but an elegant and majestic symbol. It is amazing that these gates, built in 130 in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, still stand in the middle of the modern city! Walking under them, you literally touch the story. The well-preserved marble columns and carved details are particularly impressive. It is located in the very center, next to Karaalioglu Park, so you will not pass by. I advise you to stay for 15 minutes, look carefully and imagine how the Roman legions once marched here. It's free and very atmospheric!

A beautiful and powerful, ancient structure that humanity has managed to preserve to this day. Today it frames the entrance to the "old town" location. Locals and tourists come here to relax. I recommend you to visit. An interesting place.

A beautiful place, the entrance to the "old town". Hadrian's Gate is one of the best preserved historical structures in Antalya. This Roman monument was built in 130 AD in honor of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. A must-visit! To feel the old days. And the old town itself, with its narrow streets and numerous souvenir shops, is fascinating. And even if there are a lot of tourists, this will not prevent you from calmly examining everything, taking a walk and taking cool photos! I've been there several times and I don't get tired of this place! I recommend it!

The business card of Antalya, the entrance to the old town, many ancient streets where you can get lost and take a million beautiful photos, it's better to download offline maps earlier, the prices in the cafe are the same as in the city, the fortress borders the seaport from where you can take a sightseeing tour of the sea, while waiting for the start of the walk you can eat fresh fish grilled fish, the price is about 500 lira per dish, there is a free glass elevator from the port to the fortress wall, there are especially a lot of people after lunch, the fortress is about 2 thousand years old.

It is definitely worth visiting this attraction. This is a free, well-preserved part of the history, as well as this gate is the entrance to the historic Kaleici district. Hadrian's Gate is a triple arch in Antalya, built in 130 AD in honor of the Roman emperor. This beautifully preserved monument of the Roman Empire is a monumental portal with marble columns, coffered ceiling and carved ornaments. The uniqueness of the building is emphasized by two towers on the sides: the southern Roman tower of St. Julia and the northern tower of the 13th century. Traces of ancient chariots are visible under the central arch. Today, the gate serves as the entrance to the historic Kaleici district and is a popular free attraction surrounded by a cozy park. "According to rumors, the gate was so well preserved because it had been walled up for a long time and was less exposed to external influences.

It's a beautiful place. I took a tour and was satisfied. The guide loves his job. The man told all the pros and cons of Turkey, told the story of how houses were built and what poor areas were originally, and how rich they have become nowadays, told and showed the modern world of Turkey, how many young people are moving to Antalya and for what. He showed how houses where not particularly rich people lived look now, which beautiful museums and cafes and restaurants are now made of them. He told the story of the Greeks and where they lived and in which houses they lived and much more. One disadvantage that I had to deal with was only the flies that stuck like mosquitoes to the blood, near the famous gates themselves. Overall, I am very pleased that I attended this tour. It was very interesting, we went a lot and learned a lot of new things.

This is a place of power! Enjoying the majestic structure of Hadrian's Gate, it simply does not fit in my head that it was built in 130! How could this have been done almost 1900 years ago??? I am very glad that everything has been restored, and you can come here at any time and admire this insane beauty. There are simply no words, it is necessary to visit it, and preferably more than once! I definitely recommend it, and it's also free!!!

It's not just a gateway to the Old Town, it's a living history. This triumphal arch was erected in honor of Emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in 130. The towers and fortress walls have since partially survived, the upper tier of the gate, also called Triple Gates, has not reached our days either, but the lower one with 3 arches and marble columns in front of them have been perfectly preserved. There are always a lot of people here, especially a lot of tourists, because everyone probably wants to touch history at least that much.

The most important attraction in Antalya. The Arc de Triomphe, erected in 130 in honor of the Roman Emperor Andrian, is magnificent and well preserved. The only preserved entrance gates of the walls surrounding the city and the harbor. These ancient gates are like a portal to the old city, along the cobblestone streets through which carts passed a thousand years ago in the Roman era.

The place is strange, you need to know the history to be impressed. Antalya's old town, which begins outside the gate, has retained its architecture. It is pedestrian-friendly with narrow streets. Houses with a stone lower floor and a second floor extending into the street. The first floors are cafes, hotels and souvenir shops. Going down you will get to the port of Antalya. There are several pleasure yachts in the port, but no large ships there. There are also viewing platforms with views of the sea and mountains-it's very beautiful.

Hadrian's Gate or Hadrian Kapısı in Antalya is one of the most famous and preserved Roman buildings in the city, located in the Muratpasha area on Ataturk Street. They were erected in 130 A.D. in honor of the arrival in the city of the Roman Emperor Hadrian, who was known as the patron saint of architecture and art, as well as as a ruler who left a significant mark in the history of many provinces of the Roman Empire. The structure is about eight meters high and consists of three arches and two colonnaded facades supported by four pylons. With the exception of eight granite columns, the gates are entirely built of white marble, and their arches are decorated with delicate floral reliefs and rosettes, which emphasizes the richness and importance of the city at that time. Initially, the gate was two-level, and it is believed that the upper tier housed statues of the emperor and his family, but only the lower level has survived to this day. On both sides of the gate there are two towers dating back to different historical eras. The southern Tower, known as Julia Sancta, was built during the Roman period, while the lower part of the Northern Tower is also Roman, but its upper part was rebuilt in the 13th century under the Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubad I. For a long time, the gates were built into the city wall and were not used, which allowed them to be well preserved. In the 1950s, the walls were demolished, and in 1959, the gates themselves were reconstructed. During the work, the modern sidewalk was removed, exposing the original Roman pavement with deep furrows from cart wheels. From a natural point of view, the gate is located in a place where stones for construction were mined in the vicinity of Antalya, rich in limestones and marbles formed millions of years ago at the bottom of the ancient sea, which gives the structure a special geological character, linking it with the history of the Earth. It is believed that the gate is a symbol of the transition between the past and the present, and its preservation in defiance of time gives the place an aura of extraordinary power, combining the architectural skill of man, the natural grandeur of stone and the mysterious Chaos of Time. Legends are associated with this place: the belief says that if you make a wish while passing under each of the three arches, it will definitely come true.

Wander through the streets, go to restaurants and shops, and move to the observation deck, which has a beautiful view, and then down to the port, where you will be deliciously fed by the sea. The fish shish kebab is super. On the way, do not forget to send flower sellers far away, they pretend to give roses or carnations, and then brazenly demand money. So eyebrows down - and

I really like the old town itself: it is beautiful, colorful, cozy, many pleasant shops, cafes, a port, an embankment, a bay .., it is not Turkey in the usual sense (it somehow reminded Croatia, Zadar). The gate is one of the main attractions of this place, as well as the minaret, the port and the square.., just walking around the old town has a purpose)) you come, you look, you see crowds of tourists, and you quickly turn into the first curved, quiet and cozy street you come across. Mission accomplished)) 🙏 moving on, hanging out in a cafe 🍹☕️ and watching passers-by from all over the world! High 😍
