Nice place for photos. Better walk there as the Bazaar is next to visit from there. Spare some hours.

The Izmir Clock Tower is a historical clock tower built in Izmir in 1901 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the accession of Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II to the throne. It has become a symbol of Izmir. Designed by the French architect Raymond Charles Péré, there are records suggesting that the clock in the tower was a gift from German Emperor Wilhelm II.

Officially the heart and symbol of Izmir! ❤️ When we came to Izmir, this was our first stop and I'm glad it happened! The majesty of the Clock Tower adds a completely different atmosphere to Konak Square. We're sitting around drinking tea I've fed the birds, there's not much to do, sit down watch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Historical: The Clock Tower, which is located on Konak Square and is the symbol of Izmir, was built by the Ottoman Sultan Sultan II. The 25th anniversary of Abdulhamid's accession to the throne. it was built in 1901 by a commission consisting of Izmir Governor Kıbrıslı Kamil Pasha, Bahriye Mirlivası Said Pasha and Mayor Eşref Pasha on the occasion of the anniversary. The Clock Tower was built by architect Raymond Charles Pere. After about 1 year of intensive work, the Cesmeli Clock Tower, which has become the symbol of Izmir, was opened on September 1, 1901. The base is 81 m2. the Clock Tower, which is built on a marble platform with four steps, is 25 m. in height, it has four floors and an octagonal plan. The platform is made of white marble and the other structures are made of cut stone. There are dispensers sitting on four small columns on the narrow sides of the octagonal platform. Horseshoe arched, baldekenform dispensers have three fountains, a fountain and fountains in the middle. Two of the fountains have not survived to the present day. The columns of the Clock Tower carry the North African theme. The clock of the tower is the German Emperor 2. It was a gift from Wilhelm. The baklava slice on the outside of the Clock Tower is decorated with reliefs and there are four 75 cm pieces on the outer surface. the clock in diameter has been added. The tower was damaged in the 5.2 earthquake in 1974 and the clock of the Tower stopped at 02.04, the time when the earthquake occurred. Within two years, the Tower was repaired again and the clock is still working today.
