Monument in the form of an arch, erected in 1984 in Gyumri (Leninakan) in honor of the 60th anniversary of the city. The city bore this name during the Soviet period, from 1924 to 1990. Some facts about the monument: It is built in a combination of local red and black tuff. The sculptor is Hakob Jivanyan. The words are carved on the right side of the monument: "On February 26, 1924, by decision of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR, the city of Alexandropol was renamed Leninakan. " "On February 24, 1984, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the city of Leninakan was awarded the Order of Peoples' Friendship." The monument is made in a typical Armenian style and slightly resembles khachkars.
