I just returned from Abkhazia, the New Athos hotel Rodina 2 . I am delighted with this holiday! A gorgeous place surrounded by greenery, mountains, sea, waterfalls, a mountain river flows around the hotel, a very beautiful park. Not far from the hotel there is a temple, a cathedral, the grotto of Simon the Canonite, high on the mountain there is a church of the Iverian Mother of God! There is an atmosphere of spirituality and holiness everywhere!On the territory of the Rodina 2 hotel there is a heated swimming pool, a dining room, many palm trees, cypresses, flowers grow.Everything is clean, cozy, and quiet. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the hotel administration, administrators Maxim, Milana, Margarita for their friendly attitude and help. And also thank the maids Masha and T-shirt for the snow-white towels, clean bed linen and clean rooms, every day! I also want to say a big thank you to the kitchen of the Rodina 2 hotel, the cook, and all the employees for the delicious homemade food: first courses, fresh cottage cheese, sour cream pastries, everything is on top! Convenient location: 10 minutes to the beach, near a lot of shops, a Ferris wheel in a couple of minutes walk, 10 minutes walk to a spring with a waterfall, next to the main street.
Next to the first building, you can choose an excursion.
Food at the end of October is a little scarce, especially for vegetarians, but mostly I had enough (do not expect variety in the off-season, they do not give fruits, vegetables are only in salads, it's sad with pastries).
I liked the room, it has everything you need. Only it didn't work. A bathrobe is provided only for visiting the pool. It had a temperature of about 22 degrees.
The overall impression was good.

I was vacationing at the hotel with my husband in June 2024. The hotel is conveniently located, the staff is seasoned and courteous, the food is normal, the breakfasts are monotonous, there were not enough pancakes, cheesecakes and well, other inexpensive dishes familiar for breakfast. The rooms are bright and newly renovated, the pools in the hotel were not used, there was no need, but they are clean and the water is warm. Building 1 is a 4-storey building without an elevator, consider who has health problems. We were unlucky in the hotel now there is a large construction site from 9.00 to 18.00 except Sundays, it is hard to stay in rooms with a view of the construction site, the bump is actively hammering all the time. We walked and went to the sea all the time, we are not homebodies, it will be difficult with children. The territory is open and hot horsemen drive up all night and leave with a screech of brakes, dropping off their nocturnal passion. It was annoying, but we obviously bought the most inexpensive rooms, so, although I think the construction site interfered with everyone, noise, dust, KAMAZ trucks and tractors. Will we come to this hotel again? We will come again to cheap rooms, for us the main thing is the sea, the beach, mountain routes and the beauty of New Athos!

We were very satisfied, the staff is polite, the room is cleaned every day, there is everything you need, refrigerator, hair dryer, air conditioning, balcony overlooking the pool. The kitchen is simple, everything is delicious, homemade, we would like to express special gratitude to our wonderful administrators Maxim, Margarita, Madeleine, very responsive, attentive people. A great place to relax! We lived in a standard double room with a view of the park, with a balcony. The room has everything you need: shower, toilet, TV, wi-fi, refrigerator, safe, wardrobe, table and chairs on the balcony. Upon check-in, 2 towels are provided, bathrobes on request. There is a violin-shaped swimming pool on site without heating. If desired, you can go to the heated pool, to the neighboring building (Rodina 2). Kind and helpful staff, cleanliness and comfort in the rooms. Breakfast and dinner are included in the price. Delicious food in the format of a small buffet. All the sights are within walking distance. The sea is a 5-minute walk away. The hotel has a private beach equipped with sun loungers and parasols. Cafes and shops are nearby. I definitely recommend this hotel!!!

We had a rest in June 24, we gave 102tr for two 2-bed rooms. For its price, the hotel is wonderful. The food is delicious, although there is not much variety, there are practically no vegetables and fruits. If you are used to the delights, then go to another hotel.
The rooms are clean, the plumbing was slightly broken in the shower, but to be honest, it didn't stop us from taking a shower. There is a kettle in the room, you can drink tea. The towels are snow-white, and bathrobes are provided for adults on request.
They clean well, take out the trash every day and bring toilet paper.
Upon check-in, they give 1 piece of mini shampoo, on the rest of the days they stay on their own.
Many wrote about the staff being rude. I can't say that, because I was friendly myself, which I received in response.
The room key is given alone, regardless of the number of people staying in the room
The only thing I didn't like was that upon check-in, the administrators said that parking for cars was paid 100 rubles a day, but when they put the car in the parking lot of the 2nd building, the staff said that everything was free for you. And here it seems that they wanted to get enough of us, but perhaps this is a break in communications. I don't want to blame anyone.
I recommend the hotel to visit, but take into account the nuances that I described above, then there will be no unjustified expectations. And of course, for such a price, do not expect a high level.

From meeting at the reception to leaving the hotel, thanks to the wonderful people who work at this hotel and at the reception, and in the dining room, and cleaning the room and the territory, everything was fine! The hotel is cozy, very clean room, snow-white linen and towels, snow-white bathrobes to go for a swim in the pool with heated water to a very comfortable temperature). The water was hot and cold all the time with excellent pressure, the dining room did not have a large selection of dishes, but everything was fresh and homely. A good beach is equipped with umbrellas and sun beds, strangers are not allowed on it, passed with hotel bracelets, a nice cafe on the beach with drinks and snacks, very tasty coffee is brewed. In general, I really liked Abkhazia, the nature is of extraordinary beauty, friendly, responsive people, we really want to come again.

The paper was not brought to the room on time, we had to take it in open rooms, from which visitors had already left. The garbage was also taken out by themselves) there are no safes in the room. There is no luggage storage for suitcases either, they were left at the reception. But these are all small things, the main thing is that it is nearby)
The sea is not far away, the road through a beautiful park where swans swim, you can feed ostriches and peacocks.

The hotel fully justifies its 3 stars. We lived in the second building from 05/24/2024. The girls at the reception are friendly, they explain everything in an accessible way. We arrived at 10.00. Check-in at 14.00, no earlier. But... Despite the fact that the voucher costs dinner, we were told that we could go to breakfast, which we gladly did. The room is small, but clean, modern, the bed linen is snow-white. Of course, it's time to change the mattresses. There is a clothes dryer on the balcony. There are hooks in the shower, shampoo, gel only once, upon check-in. They asked for a foot mat in the bathroom and gave it to me. Bathrobes are available on request at the reception, they can be used in the pool. The pool is clean, there are sun beds. The beach from the hotel is right behind the Shell stop. The sea is clear. There were always enough sunbeds on the beach. There is a small selection in the dining room, but everything is delicious, every day is different, the chefs are great. For breakfast there are always two porridges, cheese, sausage, delicious cottage cheese, pastries. There are 2 soups for dinner, very tasty. The queue in the dining room is only at the opening. Yes, it's not a queue, after the Country of the soul, where we then left))) I will be happy to return to this hotel again! And yes... There is no rotavirus in the hotel.

from 05.12.24 in the 2nd building, in room 307, the location of the hotel is very good, at the foot of the mountains, everything is surrounded by greenery. All the sights are within walking distance.If you have a vacation in Abkhazia, then New Athos is the best place, the city is simply surrounded by greenery, there is something to see here. Many thanks to Madeleine for our excursions and tips on where to go. The hotel has its own beach with umbrellas, sun loungers - free of charge. Towels are provided in the room + a bathrobe for the pool. Food - the choice is small, very simple, but everything is edible (for breakfast sandwiches, sausage, eggs, porridge, cottage cheese). For a little money, we won't even betray)) Once we were 20 minutes late for dinner, but we were fed anyway, thanks for your understanding!
Disadvantages - now the 3rd building is being built, it is very noisy and dusty. There is also a car wash next to the pool, it is also noisy. But we didn't go to the hotel during the day, it didn't bother us.
In general, I recommend the hotel! All the sights and the sea are nearby, we walked, there are a lot of interesting things in New Athos (a fortress, huge caves, a waterfall, a nature reserve, a monastery).
If you go to Abkhazia, then this city is the best place to stay.

I have read a lot of negative reviews about the food in this hotel. Most likely, they are written by people who do not eat normal homemade food at all. When walking around the city, we passed by other hotels that we considered for recreation, we did not like the location at all. Everything is very crowded literally every 5 m there is a new hotel, a new hotel. The Rodina Hotel is located a little apart, but at the same time all the sights are also within walking distance. The sea is literally a 5-minute walk away. It should also be noted that the hotel has its own beach. There are a huge number of sun loungers on the beach, there is a cafe, that is, you do not just need to sit on the rocks or rent a chaise longue for 200 300 rubles per piece per day. There is also a huge swimming pool on site. It is available in both the first and second buildings, but in the second building it is much larger. There are also sun loungers, umbrellas and everything for a comfortable stay. one day it rained from our vacation, the sea was very dirty, it was impossible to swim, we enjoyed swimming in the pool and were glad that it was there. Next, about the hotel itself. As I already wrote, we had a second building, it is newer than the first, I can't say anything about the first one, but we got a great room. The room has everything a fridge, a kettle, mugs, a wardrobe, bedside tables, everything is fine. The only drawback is there is no large full-length mirror. But this is a minor omission, I think. Each room has a balcony. There is a high chair and a clothes dryer on the balcony. information for smokers. You can't smoke on the balcony of the hotel itself, but there are benches with bins for cookies on the territory where you can smoke. We got up very early, so every morning at about 6 a.m. I saw the pool being cleaned. The water is really clear and quite warm. The hotel has 2 rooms in total, I do not plan to come here in the near future. 1. Near the second building there is a construction site - the noise is rather big, but it's serious from 9 to 18, one day the workers got into a fight - I and other guests enjoyed the view and screams from the balcony. 2. Breakfasts - queues and the time allotted for tomorrow and dinner (8:30-10:00 and 17:30 -19:00) - beyond good and evil, on the days of excursions, neither eat normally because of the queue, nor go to the sea early in the morning, a choice of dishes, fruits, vegetables, except for cabbage - no, one day a queue of people who waited for breakfast was not very politely asked not to come at the same time - and when??? - breakfast from 8:30 to 10:00 - the hotel is full, surprisingly in general, people are waiting behind closed doors of the dining room in the morning, the staff seeing the queue outside - sitting in the shade and smoking - open exactly on schedule, not earlier and not later, the products are cheap, there is no choice - for dinner - one salad - cabbage or carrots are not a choice, on different days, pasta, meatballs or sausages. There is soup - thanks for that! But in general, it is very mediocre and frankly very cheap. The rooms are cleaned, clean, the rooms are new, respect to the maids for their care and courtesy! There are no more advantages, there is a large car wash behind the fence around the clock, this is really not the sound of the surf, not at all, and compared to the construction site, the car wash works at night. Upon departure, I watched as the girl was fined for a stain on a towel, the girl from the LPR came to rest a little :(, but they apparently earn money on fines here, I ordered a taxi for 2 p.m. from Madina, warned the maid in the morning that we were leaving, and exactly at 13 :00 - when I left the room with with a suitcase and a child - I ran into a receptionist who said that according to the rules of the hotel I had to leave at 12, not 13, and now I have to pay a fine, I explained that no one warned me about the fine and strict check-out time, and that I myself warned the maid that I was leaving, there was no plan to use the hotel and not pay, the only train from Athos to Moscow Time departs daily at 14:55 and I was not the only one who ordered a taxi at the same time, but it did not matter, the manager said that I should feel guilty and read the rules of the hotel, but since I am with a child, they they forgive, of course, thank you, but there is nothing more to say, I do not recommend it!

We rested from 30.07 to 08.08. we chose this hotel on recommendation. We lived in building 2. Friendly staff. Breakfast and dinner buffet style. You should not expect anything supernatural from nutrition. Everything is quite modest, but there is always something to choose. The air conditioner in our room did not work at its 17 degrees. Good afternoon, everyone. I stayed at this hotel in June of this year. I arrived at 12:00 p.m., we checked in right away. I didn't even have to wait. The room is very nice. Big, new, everything works. And a shower, and a TV and a refrigerator. The room is on the third floor, with a balcony that overlooks the river.

I will try to leave as objective a review as possible.
We had a vacation with my wife in mid-August 2024.
So the pros
- good location, close to all the main locations of New Athos.
-closed, well-maintained territory.
-its own beach, relatively equipped, there is enough space for everyone.
-generally polite staff, cleaning (take out the trash) every day.
Minuses
- the room as a whole is quite dark and needs to be repaired in some places.
-the lack of paid laundry and, in general, any.
-constantly falling off Wi-Fi.
- the mattress on the bed is a quiet horror, you fall through like on a bag of hay.
-bed linen that has lived a long and hard life.
- and actually the main cherry is the nutrition here according to the points.
1. Stupid schedule breakfasts from 8.30 to 10.00 dinners from 17.30 to 19.00. for those who like to be on the beach not in the heat, the most useless schedule.
2. The quality itself, like a buffet, but the choice of dishes is very limited and the quality of the roadside canteen.
3. In general, maximum savings can be traced, there is no fruit from the word at all, soup is one kind and naturally without meat, instant coffee and tea from drinks in the morning, only compote in the evening. Breakfasts are as monotonous as possible sausages, eggs, cheese, etc., and so on every day.Well, what can I say if breadcrumbs with raisins can be an independent dish for breakfast. The only thing I can note is a good pastry.
Conclusions
For 9700 rubles per day (of the price at the tour operator and on their website)this is a complete failure, up to 3 stars of this hotel are like earthlings to the moon.
I do not share the enthusiastic reviews, it seems that the people who write them have nothing to compare them with. The price is too high, the quality of services is at zero. I definitely do not recommend it.

We rested twice in Rodina hotels, in the 2nd building. The first vacation was in May. Then everything was fine and the star of the hotel was the administrator Margarita, the whole service was apparently based on her… In early October, we returned (convenient location of the hotel) But everything became dull. Room: tubma is broken, said "the hotel administration" looked and spread his hands.
The shower room is a separate kind of art, it turns out that something is leaking and I got a chance to flood the neighbors from below.
The "hotel administration" came with a sharp eye, saying "come down, I'll give you a rag to wipe" I cleaned these couple of drops with my rag👌 The toilet bowl - the sounds of the Abkhazian waterfalls, was repaired 3 times in 2 weeks, on the day of departure, it was torn off again. The food is fine, not a rest, of course, but you can eat. Rotoviruses were not caught either the first or the second time!
The staff at the reception, they are the "administration" of the hotel in the person of Maxim and another beautiful lady (I did not remember her name) are friendly only visually.( sometimes they can be rude directly ) but fortunately, I did not get under such a distribution of the service)) They are tired and they urgently need a rest! Dissatisfied, tired, with strange looks and extremely inappropriate statements about other hotel guests.

Abkhazia itself is beautiful, But apparently it was a mistake to come to the same hotel a second time. Excursions!!! Madeleine is just a wonderful person, a soul!
There is a Ferris wheel next to the hotel! It's worth a ride! It's beautiful in the morning and at sunset. There is something to sharpen your eyes on!
Tip: If you are a person without pretensions and are ready to just enjoy, this hotel is quite suitable. But if you are sometimes confused by stains on the walls, a towel, or broken appliances or things and lack of service, look for a class of stars above!
I like the hotel itself, the place is convenient. People are cool! And Abkhazia is beautiful!

We had a rest in August 2024. A three-star hotel. Of the advantages:
- its own dedicated beach 10 minutes from the hotel with sun loungers, umbrellas, toilet and shower
- sofa on the balcony (not everyone was lucky for some reason)

- a small, but clean and comfortable temperature pool in the form of a guitar

- nearby attractions such as the Grotto of St. Simon Kananita, Psycrha railway station, Novoafon Monastery, Novoafon cave, observation tower, Anakopian fortress, house of culture, park
- there are several grocery stores nearby, 2 ATMs (savings bank and another one) where you can withdraw money, commission up to 5%, pharmacy
Of the cons:
- construction site (if not 7, then 6 days a week from 9 to 18 right under the hotel windows)
- there is a gym on the ground floor of the hotel, where fans of boxing and a local karaoke singer in the park woke up by 11 pm, the volume is off the scale
- no elevator, if the suitcase is small, then it's not scary)
- the food is not varied and not always tasty, you definitely won't get better))) We hardly saw fruits, fresh vegetables and greens, and cheese too.
- wi-fi is weak, if a lot of people are sitting, then it almost does not catch
- The 2-bed room is very small, they put a cot for a child, the mattresses are uncomfortable, the shower cabin with direct access to the corridor surprised.

I had a rest from May 20-29. The place is really convenient in relation to the sights, and that's it! This is where the positive moments end! The Abkhazian people are not friendly! Sullen, not friendly! The room was not cleaned, the bed was not changed, but for some reason they visited every other day, what were they looking for there? , it is not clear. Prices are everywhere,, frenzied,,, just whatever they want and they will say. They are not hospitable, rude, both men and women. It was the first and last time! I do not recommend it!!!!!

We rested for a week. And the hotel was not the first one on our trip. The second building was taken. The rooms are large. Comfortable. The pool is open until late, you can go out for a swim in the evening in a bathrobe. The first building has a smaller pool. The breakfasts and dinners are delicious. Of the disadvantages, this mattress is soft. The location of the hotel is excellent. There is a construction site nearby in the afternoon. But it's quiet in the evening. We stayed at the Rodina Hotel in June 2024. Large balcony (1 building). Fed 2 times a day. Buffet. Delicious. For dinner, you could eat the first course. Well done. Of the disadvantages, only one thing: there was not enough cooler, at least one per floor. I was very thirsty. We bought water in the store, at the reception they immediately warned us not to pour water into bottles in the dining room. Nobody liked it. There is an outdoor pool, small and in the place where everyone eats. A little uncomfortable. There are also sun beds. In general, I liked the hotel, I would go back there again.

We had a rest from 05/23/30.05.
Now I'm reading reviews and, to put it mildly, I'm shocked, it feels like we were vacationing in different hotels and countries.
The hotel is wonderful, the staff is friendly, responsive, I did not need it, but they always came clean and tidy and the towels were fresh, they were changed every day, the bathrobes were clean on the hanger, the mirrors of the windows were always perfectly clean.
Now about the dining room, the food is delicious, we had enough, but the buffet is an understatement, as there is no such thing, let's say breakfast : cottage cheese, sour cream, two types of porridge, hot sandwich or omelet,
Dinner:two types of soup, two types of second, something from baking, but everything is delicious, home, thank you so much!!!!!
The hotel is located in the very center of the events of the same sea, and the park with swans went around in a circle...and magnolias, a monastery, a waterfall in a cell, a cave, a fortress...Everything is nearby .
