The Rumeli Fortress is an amazing place that has left me with only the brightest and warmest impressions. From the moment I stood at its walls, I felt the power and grandeur of the history that this architectural creation preserves. The fortress impresses with its monumentality and thoughtful design — every detail seems to tell its own fascinating story. A walk through the fortress allowed me to visualize how it served as a reliable defense and played a key role in the strategic events of the past. I especially liked that the fortress has not lost its atmosphere over the past centuries. Stone walls, narrow passageways and towers create a unique feeling of immersion in the medieval era. Here you can feel the breath of history, see what the defensive structures of that time looked like, and understand how difficult the lives of those who lived and fought within these walls were. In addition, the area around the fortress is well equipped, which makes the walk not only informative, but also comfortable. Everything is clean and tidy, there are convenient viewing platforms that offer fascinating panoramas of the surrounding landscapes and, of course, the strait — a view that remains in the memory for a long time. I would like to mention the tour support separately: the guides have deep knowledge and are able to present information in an interesting way, answering all questions and sharing little-known facts. Thanks to them, visiting the fortress has become even more intense and exciting. In addition, there is an opportunity to explore the site on their own, which allows everyone to customize the tour for themselves. In general, the Rumeli Fortress has become for me not just a historical landmark, but a real journey through time. This visit aroused interest in the history of the region and left a vivid mark in my heart. I recommend that anyone who appreciates culture, architecture and legends of the past visit this place. I am sure that the impressions will be as inspiring and memorable as mine!

The other day I found myself in the Bebek area and decided to see what was inside Rumelihisara (the Rumeli fortress built by Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror a year before the capture of Constantinople for the purpose of its blockade) Today, the fortress has been partially closed for restoration, and because of this, it is not yet possible to climb its walls, but you can walk around its territory, where, as it turned out, there is something interesting! So, on the territory of Rumelikhisara there is a mosque that stands on a medieval Byzantine cistern (!) where you can safely enter, as well as an amphitheater where students sit and work in their free time. Admission on the museum card is free, without a card – some symbolic amount, in 2023 it was 100 liras.

If you are a fan of Turkish TV series, then you will love the cat dramas in the park inside the Rumeli fortress. The entrance fee is 260 lire. The fortress itself was under restoration, we only managed to get into the park, but it was interesting
