The most beautiful restaurant I've been to in Almaty! The Kazakh-only dishes were the most savory I've had in the three months I've been in Kazakhstan. The fine art and traditional decor made the atmosphere feel elegant, yet welcoming. Excellent wait service and decently priced menu.

A very beautiful and authentic restaurant, almost a museum. The interior, dishes, attentive staff - everything is national. National cuisine is served, everything is insanely delicious. You can book a table in the main hall on the 1st floor, as well as on the balcony and in separate spacious rooms. Dinner for two cost us 17 thousand tenge (3400 rubles). You will be in Almaty, come in, you will not regret it.

Just a must to visit in Almaty. In the national style. The dishes are delicious. The waiters give the necessary comments when choosing. And they also tell about the history of the dishes. Very interesting. The toilet is clean. There is a children's room, spacious with a transparent wall. There are many exhibits around the hall, about which they will also arrange a tour. The only thing I didn't like was that you can't order bread, it only comes as a dessert (with honey, vegetable and butter). That is, you have to pay extra for what comes in the "kit". The prices are high. The service fee is 15%. Moreover, the cost of the dishes looks like the payment for the service is already included in them. I did not underestimate the rating for this, because the restaurant has more advantages.

The staff is very attentive and caring. Well, special thanks for the music. The guys perform divinely! The only wish is to perform music of a non-tragic genre appropriate to the theme of the restaurant, because music should warm up the appetite, and not vice versa. This is one of the best restaurants of national cuisine! The design of the restaurant is made in a traditional national style, everything is done with taste without pathos and at the same time very stylish! Getting into the restaurant feels like you are transported back 100-150 years ago, the atmosphere is also conveyed by the staff dressed in simple national clothes of that time. The cuisine is beyond praise, Beshparmak is simply amazing, the dough is thin, not boiled, elastic and at the same time very tender! Very caring staff who will prompt you with a choice of dishes and bring everything promptly! An exemplary restaurant of national cuisine, where our guests from near and far abroad should be taken! There are no alcoholic beverages and coffee in the restaurant :), the prices are also pleasantly surprising, the average check per person is $ 20~$25! Tasty, colorful, not too expensive. There is an online menu with photos of dishes, convenient. The toilets are clean. Reservations are always required, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table to be available, and this is on Thursday
I was confused by the mandatory service surcharge (around 10-15% of the order amount), although 3 waiters changed during dinner. The plates are chipped, the menu is shabby, some pages are kept on a kind word

We tried 4 traditional dishes here, we liked 3 very much, 1 turned out to be past us: the horsemeat soup is quite simple and lost a lot against the background of other dishes.
The waiters are very attentive, they practically notice everything that happens at the table: if they see any changes, they take away the plates, clarify whether something is needed. It took us a while to even notice how the empty plates disappeared before we even had time to salt our eyes.
I would like to note the interior separately: it feels like you are in a museum, there is always something to see and explore. On the way and back from the toilet, I managed to constantly be distracted by various exhibits and works of art)

We often visit cities with a culture different from our usual culture, including food. We are always looking for places where real national food is prepared, we ask the locals. The taxi driver on Medeo recommended the Sandyk restaurant. There are no signs on the street, it is not in sight, and nevertheless, the restaurant is almost 70% full during the day, there are many seats on the reservation, several tables were free. The dishes are really delicious, the portions are large, the girl Aniela served them quickly, politely and neatly. It was raining and stormy outside, so there were problems with WiFi, the menu code could not be read, Adele told us what the dishes we chose were like. Pleasant national music, authentic interior surroundings, service staff in national costumes, stylization of antique dishes - all this creates an effect of presence. It's not a pity to pay for good impressions, even if the check is above average.
