St. Sophia Cathedral is a tourist attraction in Polotsk. The majestic architecture, the location on the high bank of the Western Dvina River - the views are breathtaking. The cathedral has survived to this day in the style of the Vilna Baroque. It was completely rebuilt in 1738-1750 after the original building was destroyed by the explosion of a powder magazine in 1710. The snow-white building with two towers pointing upwards looks very picturesque. There is now a museum and a concert hall inside. I was lucky to get to the organ concert, and it was unforgettable. The instrument is recognized as the best in Belarus, installed by a well-known Czech company. The sound is amazing - clear, soulful, and incredibly powerful. The acoustics in the cathedral are unique: it seems that the music envelops you from all sides. The time of the concert flew by unnoticed, leaving a very bright, uplifting feeling.

A very beautiful observation deck, go to the temple if you are interested in history, the view of the Dvina and the bridges is amazing. There is a spring almost at the top of the stairs. The water is delicious, the decoration is original.
