I was in the Sulfur Bath No. 5 in the summer, in July. It's hot outside in the forties, but inside it's strangely cool and calm. The air is thick with sulfur, the smell is pungent, but you quickly get used to it. The water is hot, my body feels blurry, and my thoughts slow down. You sit in this semi-darkness and it seems that time has frozen. I took a regular room, not a separate room. It's simple: tiles, steam, and sometimes old walls, but it has its own charm. The people around are quiet, some are talking in low voices, some are just silent, looking into the water. Surprisingly, even in the common room you can feel the privacy. After half an hour, the skin becomes velvety, a light pink shade, and the hair is soft, as after a mask. My shoulders and back relaxed so much that I walked around the whole day as if in zero gravity. Don't expect the glitz and service of a spa. Everything is the same as before, simple in Georgian. But it's kind of real. The tea was incredibly delicious at the end, maybe because the body is steamed and everything feels sharper. If you want to feel the city not only with your eyes, but also with your skin, be sure to go. It's better during the day, when there are fewer tourists, and bring a light towel and water. After this bath, you come out feeling refreshed, calm, with a slight drowsiness and a warm inner light.
